Not a Liverpool fan but I rate firmino very highly and he is good at finishing, he facilities the play for other players and is surprisingly unselfish for a no 9 reminds me very much of benzema from his early lyon and madrid days. A very lethal striker who can do lot of stuff of the ball too

Firmino is not a striker. He seems to have created his own position, that is why I find him one of the best players in the world at the moment. Many people don't rate him because they don't know what position he takes, because he doesn't have the goals to be discussed as the best striker or the assists to put him amount the best playmakers. But when you watch him play you understand why many people call him one of the best football player in the world today. His movement off the ball is unparalleled, his understanding of the game is amazing and his vision on the ball is up there with silva.

Firmino was always important to Klopp's pressing style and attacking philosophy but didn't have great output. Now he has 22 goals, 11 assists AND is a workhorse off the ball. Not to mention he isn't even the main goalscorer of the team (Like Lukukau, Morata, Lacazette). An amazing player who's a great option for Brazil

Because of the incredible amount of running he puts in, and his brilliant awareness and anticipation, Firmino is able to act as a forward and a midfielder, effectively giving Liverpool an extra player on the pitch. Much like Kante was able to do the work of 2 men in his title winning seasons with Leicester and Chelsea. He has added so much to his game this year.

You don't get many players that can play both central striker and creative midfielder and such a high level. In the individual positions there's players better. Bobby plays in the centre, wears 9, scores lots of goals from inside the box like a striker, but is not the striker. He is a forward who happens to be playing through the middle. Salah is the striker who is doing the role from the wing. Football is always finding ways of reinventing positions, strategies and tactics so it can find new ways to unlock defences. Firmino's goals often come late in games perhaps even the third or fourth goal, arriving late, after teams have been driven back. Before that point he is further back towards the midfield, sometimes being a part of it - he's not up-top making runs to release the ball out of defence either behind back-lines or to hold it up - that's what Salah is doing. Salah is playing higher than him so he is the one doing the job a striker does, just from a different position. Love Firmino - gorgeous player. Cannot understand how, after the barrenness of Brazilian World Cup success (for their standards), and the manner in which star players have performed so limply at recent World Cups, that the Brazilian Manager doesn't feel like he's hit the jackpot with Firmino being available to him.

Firmino is not false 9. What Messi plays and what Firmino plays cant even be compared. Messi just jogs around lightly and waits to go forward, more of a free role with no responsibilities whatsoever, and Firmino works his ass off and plays better defense than plenty of midfielders and goes wide sometimes and drops deep to get the ball and plays target man and holds the ball until mane/salah get there to feed them the ball and sometimes he is main forward in front of goal to tap in crosses and such. If anything he is complete foward + false 9 + defensive forward + inner forward and whatever more... I dont think there is one player like him in the world, Messi for sure is not one.

Victor at what he does, yes he is. You need to know football to understand. Maybe you think world class ONLY means skill and talent. But players like firmino are an exception. Hes truly a complete attacking player PLUS he drops deep and defends, creates opportunities. He does alot, more than any other forward in the world in my opinion. bobby is the linchpin in liverpools front 3. Nope. 9 and a half. Firmino doesn't have playmaking responsibilities. False 9 is No.10 is striker position. 9 and a half is striker with more added responsibilities. False 9 doesn't have defensive responsibilities but they have playmaking responsibilities more than others. Firmino does not. His job is to make spaces for Mane and Salah. Press the front and attract defenders plus scoring. So not false 9. 9 and half is a perfect word for that role. Firmino will be getting his own new role. False 9 doesn't actually 100% emulate his role. More of a mixture of defensive forward and complete forward.

Hes not a out and out striker like them. His natural position was at CAM hes still basically like that but as well has the burden of being a 9 bringing others into play. I know for a fact he’s the hardest working forwards in Europes top 5 leagues.

Yeah, he's not a target 9 like Suarez though. He plays a false 9 roll and primarily presses the line and looks for link ups with Salah and Sane who act as forwards. In reference to the False 9 roll I don't think there's anyone better in the world

Firmino is absolute genius on the pitch. You'll never see a player who is alway in the right place at the right time, doing the right things all the time! The Italians would call him a Trequartista. A striker that drops to play in between the lines of midfield and attack, someone who can spearhead an attack but also play as a playmaker. I suppose that is what a false 9 is but Trequartista is more specialised. Basically the Totti role, which Firmino does incredibly well.
