I have a gender diverse child who we discovered has intersex traits so both male and female characteristics from birth. Then I found out I had the same and that deformities that made it unlikely I could ever have a child (but miraculously I did), were intersex characteristics too. I also discovered that my late father had some form of gender diversity. No curriculum is turning our children gay or transgender. Nobody is pushing anything at all. If anything it is the opposite. I had to take my child out of school due to bullying and lack of support. Though some teachers were supportive, others were flat out the opposite because there is so much misinformation out there now. I was raised religious and conservative, and it took me a while to get my head around having a child who was born with their wiring not matching their body. Then when we discovered they has intersex characteristics everything made sense. But how do we know whether newer generations are being born with genetic prepositions to gender diversity or not? We don’t?! So it was never their choice, they were born with both male and female characteristics, but assumed one gender, but they knew who they were very early on. I use “they” for privacy reasons. Now that I’ve had a child go through the health care system and puberty blockers I can say for certain that nothing is being pushed. If you reading this are not transgender, then may I ask, do you think your teachers or parents could have convinced you to completely change who you are? Your entire gender identity? From a boy to a girl? You know the answer. Of course not. Yes there is a rise in gender dysphoria. It could be for many reasons but at the end of the day, absolutely not one single doctor in this country will put a child on gender affirming hormones. They have to be on puberty blockers first. It’s not ideal but neither is anti depressant medication, neither is any medical intervention. If people weren’t so transphobic then less people would need to turn to having to medically transition 😕 I’m not good with words, but absolutely understand that trans kids need support, that no one is forcing anyone. This is coming from someone with a religious and conservative background, who doesn’t believe in many vaccines (I don’t dare say which ones), especially not for kids, who thinks autism and adhd is being over diagnosed, and more of a concern about the brainwashing in schools in so many ways, yet LGBTIQ is not an issue. The government wants us fighting over this. Over trans kids. They want to spread propaganda to try to cause us to fight. The more we argue, the more they have control. Peace

What a great response. I’m sorry your child wasn’t properly supported at school.
