Lets say 100 cars are enough to block an intersection. You cant say that the traffic jam will occur at 5pm tomorrow because there will "more likely" be 100 cars at 5pm tomorrow just by looking at the number of cars in the past week or days. There can be other factors that needs to be analyzed fundamentally, like the external economics, will people still have jobs tomorrow that they will still be going out the house at the same time therefore causing traffic? Are there looming government regulations like mandating them to walk home every other day? Can people afford more cars therefore causing a longer and earlier traffic jam? All these questions cannot be answered just by looking at a graph.

If TA worked, there wouldn't so many people spending time to create videos for KZbin to share their ''big'' knowledge. They would instead use their time to really do TA and earn much more money on the market.

We distinguish between Fundamental Analysis (News, Price to Earnings, M&A, Black Swans, etc.), Technical Analysis (interpretation and forecasting via use and/or misuse of algorithm-based manipulations, such as moving averages) and Price Action Analysis (which uses no “indicators”, only drawing tools and the candles themselves). Price Action Analysis differs from the others in that it begins by eliminating lag, rather than by introducing it.

Im sorry but people who dont think tech analysis works or isnt real has not put enough time into learning it. I have spent 7 months learning it and it is for sure real and relevent. There are thousands of books written on it, thousands of videos about it and yes, bs gurus who use it to rob people out of their money. But the charts show everything about the movement of price. They show human psychology, the show fundamentals, they show market maker moves, people forget that price, AND ONLY PRICE MOVEMENTS, are the only thing that matters when buying and shorting stocks. Does big news affect charts? You bet it can. But only when you SEE it on the chart, should you react. Buying or selling only on news is just as dumb as buying and selling on chart patterns only. I feel sorry for people that dont follow price. Reply to me in a couple of years and lets see where each others accounts are at.

Tecnical Analysis is the measure of collective crowd psychology . And because people can be predicatable it is a valid tool. But market data streams consistantly and peoples thoughts change with it. This is all reflected and seen in technical analysis, from the lowest time frame to the highest time frame.

Not against mathematically accurate TA like Moving Average and RSI, but I don't like the spooky stuff like gann angles, Fibonacci Retracement, etc.

No it's not. I traded head and shoulders pattern on daily timeframe back end of last year and got pips. I think technical analysis is important but so is fundamental analysis. The two gel nicely.

Technical Analysis sounds a LOT like 17th century astrology to me. Back in the day, some smart guys believed in astrology. This includes Galileo, Keplar, and Cardano. They didn't just believe in it -- they practiced it. The rules were also exceedingly complex, and it was easy to excuse why their charts/horoscopes sometimes failed. It's a guide not in stone; you didn't factor in this aspect or give it the proper weight; a more experienced person would have produced a better chart; etc. In fact, all the reasons given in this video for why it works sounds like the reasons/excuses used by astrologers that believed in the crap. I think your better of just realizing that its all a big ponzi scheme and approaching your "investing" by asking if you're likely to find another set of investors willing to buy your stake. Look for the thing that's going to become popular. Look for the thing that has become too popular and is about to see "investors" fleeing because they don't want to be the guy holding the bag. It's not easy either but at least the approach isn't BS.

I am an investor and not a trader. I make money not based on charts but on value investing. Time would allow value investors to grow the assets. Technical analysis is interesting but may not help value investors make big money.

Most peoeple just pay too much attention to patterns. This is what noobies do and they get frustrated. Markets are fluid and always changing and just using patterns to fit your myopic view on the market is fuckin' stupid. To me that's bullshit. Pattern can be an element in technical analysis but it doesn't break technical analysis without using patterns. You need to combine patterns with more substantial reasons. Just using support and resistance with a sound trading plan is infinitely better than just trading off patterns.

The best way to avoid the rush hour traffic jam is to wait an hour after the rush hour. But of course, if everyone does that the "rush hour" will be moved one hour forward. (given they all have nothing to do for the sake of analogy) So basically no one can say that TA works because no one can prove that TA works given the nature of the stock market. You cant prove that something works if it works randomly 50% of the time. It worked not because you analyzed shit, it worked because of chances. You can't prove that a certain method of germinating a seed is the best if you can't germinate at least more than half more than 50% of the time.

Thank you for taking up this interesting subject. Just one consideration about the last point on Against . Is it not working by itself and therefore "it should be put into bigger goal" is necesary? What does describes this supplementary part if this is not covered by the technical analysis ? Anyone has tried to define that and put it all together into a system? I think we see to many systems/management firms saying that they have successfully done that. I experince it confusing as a beginner to fully trust that learning technical analysis will benefit me. Am i alone ?

I think this channel is generally about forex, but I trade equities and use technical analysist. The thing is, most technicals are either useless as a probable predictor, or there are about maybe a handful of ways to use certain technicals because most are just different ways to say the same thing. The only fundamentals I use is to keep up with upcoming earnings reports. When you realize which technicals are actually worth something, you can absolutely put the odds in your favor. My setup follows the money which moves the market. Charts set up correctly don't lie. Period.

If you are day trading it may work sometimes, it can give you a better perspective about the price action, but if you are a long investor is just bullshit, assuming that a company has a bullish chart, with a strong bullish candle and you are buying based on technical analysis because that`s how you learned, but tomorrow the company announce bad earnings or bad news, and suddenly the price is going down and you are confused, "BUT WHAT HAPPENED, THE BULLISH CANDLE, THE PATTERN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO UP", it happened to me a lot of times, and since then I`m looking at the value of the company, I suggest every trader or investor here to learn about the company, read balance sheets, and hold the stock if you have faith, treat a company like it`s yours and maybe one day you will succeed, stop panic when every one is going crazy about the market "oh is going down, it`s a new financial crisis", the marked faced a lot of financial crises and the SP 500 it`s still up, that`s life sometimes you are up, sometimes is down, but in the end if you trust the process and have faith you will be successful.

It depends..... i can tell all of you that you dont have to use Fibonacci, Support and Resistance and all that type of bullshit. Also i think most people dont know how the market is manipulated to take your money based on technicals like this by the Dealers. I have traded with dozens of support and resistance lines, trendlines, fibonacci levels etc its all garbage. All that matters is levelcount, patterns and how candles close at certain times. I have lost a bunch off money on that bullshit, If you know how the dealer works and know where he is in his cycle and act upon that the pips will fall from your ceiling. Also fundamentals are a load of crap and the dealer only hides behind it to reveal its true intensions after he done its damage hiding behind the news.

When people say "Technical Analysis doesn't work", it really doesn't make sense to me. There are so many aspects and implementations, that saying something like that is meaningless. They cannot have had experiences with all approaches. Anyone can see that moving averages play a significant role in where markets find swing highs/lows, when it is trending. And there are trends in the market, it's fact, not opinion. I don't care how clever someone thinks they are, or what fund they get paid fat amounts to work at, they are wrong when they say "it doesn't work".

I don’t believe Tech is nonsense but the way the forex industry is, its so biased towards it, which I think is detrimental to a traders bottom line. Not having a general fundamental/sentiment view of the market will only give you a partial view of the market. Risk Reversals, commodity markets, economic data etc can really help give traders more informed trading decisions and to be able to generate their own trading ideas.
@kikowhitney7 жыл бұрын
TA is very important. We cannot do away with it. I never see myself trading without TA. Of course TA needs the partnership of fundamental analysis. But TA is NOT AT ALL NONSENSE. One misunderstanding is that chart patterns can PREDICT/FORECAST future prices...and when it does not occur, some people get frustrated. This is why it is so necessary to admit that even if we do TA and do chart analysis there is still the role of "human freedom" in the market that resists all prediction.. Which reminds me....do you do videos on fundamental analysis?
@ukspreadbetting7 жыл бұрын

I'm really fond of your videos.. You're great at explaining even the most complicated therms.. But for the love of god.. Switch that blackboard out with som video FX.. or combine the 2? Your videos is missing "The Deepth" That a simple overlay with text, Video FX can produce.. The handwritten sentences is not easily read. And pointless to use, when you at the end of a video give a quick resume..

Video FX = video effects. So that the sentences are written on the screen. It could be done with a greenscreen for example. Noneoftheless, keep them videos coming!
