The Sequoia get a full redesign from Toyota for 2023. This Capstone grade is all new and bring a higher level of luxury. Under the hood a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 Hybrid mated to a 10 speed automatic transmission. Is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia Capstone a BETTER luxury SUV than a GMC Yukon Denali?

This MIGHT be it! Had new Yukon Denalis, every 3 years since 2000. Recently burned by GM warranty - even the dealer showed me internal emails. I can't buy GM anymore. If your looking full size suv, your choices are the sequoia, Yukon, Tahoe, expedition, and Armada. Out of those, the sequoia and armada would be the most reliable if that’s what your looking for in a car. And between those two, the sequoia has much more modern tech and feel than the Armada

@@RRLV434hmm id say Nissan is the Ford of imports and that 5.6 is much more of S gas guzzler than the GMC/Chev versions. Wouldn’t pick up a Ford W a forklift. Toyota and Yukon w be my choice. Not a fan of That twin turbo V6. Heard its harder on fuel than GM’s 5.3 and had waste gate issues. Any white leather interior is a no go so hope they have a different colour.

After listening the designer/engineer for this vehicle, the intent was to have a large, yet, "garageble" SUV. The Yukon Denali is larger, no question, but it doesn't fit on everyone's garage. This Sequoia fills that gap of a very large, capable SUV, yet, fits in most garages. That was the goal, and I feel this vehicle accomplished that in style, along with being 20k less than the top of the line Denali.

@Joe Raiti. I love the Sequoia. But I still think the interior packaging was not property planned and executed. A vehicle this big should have a proper 3rd row seat and proper cargo area. I think Toyota missed a good opportunity in that sense. I also think going to a solid rear axle and suspension set up is counter productive. A multilink rear suspension would not only have been better but would also have helped with a lower floor at the rear.

Since I dont have a pickup, I use my Yukon Denali for hauling stuff. I have folded last 2 rows flat several times in just the last month to carry bulky stuff like tires/wheels, a dresser, and some big heavy boxes. You cant do any of that with this supposed Yukon Fighter. The cargo area is like a 2007 yukon with the removable seats - but you cant remove them? LOL. Not only can I carry 7 adults for 4 hours in comfort, I can haul. This only carries 4 adults and 2 kids - you probably have to get a trailer to carry anything bigger than a couple carry on bags...

Needs more third row and cargo area. Does it have a locking rear differential? The prices of these full size three row SUVs are insane. So glad I purchased a new 2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro with that n/a 5.7 liter V-8 engine and that reliable 6 speed automatic transmission. Plus, the copious amount of room.

In the 3rd row, is the 2nd row big enough to slide your feet under? My legs stick up in my dads Truck and I just slide my feet under passenger seat and they become much lower

You drove this and the trd pro. I’m guessing even though capstone is more luxurious I’m thinking the better suspension and bigger tires make the trd pro ride quality better?

It's better in the fact that you can keep it outside of the warranty period without the transmission spilling its guts out on your driveway.

The new sequoia is smaller than the current 4Runner regarding cubic feet. What a joke. I’ve owned the first gen and own the second gen. I will never buy the third gen unless I just don’t care about passenger room. Not to mention the cheap feel of the seats, front grill, and bumpers. My 2008 has 212k trouble free miles. Idc if I get 14-17 mpg. At least it’s reliable for the last 15.5 years. I don’t think any turbo can do that. Ever. Even a Toyota. They should just make turbos routine maintenance every 25k miles. 😂

Every time I look at the Sequoia, I’m like Toyota has to make it bigger to really compete with GMC and Ford, but it still looks like a face lifted crossover in my opinion
