I know someone who bought a lightly used Quattroporte for a great price. He’s had it modified for more horsepower and it’s been very reliable for the past few years. He has a Ferrari 355 and a Lamborghini Gallardo too, though I don’t know how reliable those two have been. I’ve been more interested in the Maserati in I want to buy a used one. I probably won’t, but you never know. Of course I’ll probably be receiving a comment or two that they are junk. Maybe, as they depreciate very quickly which might be based on some facts.

Had a 2022 MC20. Absolutely the best looking exotic I've ever owned. But the exhaust note sucked, interior was minimalistic (which isn't all that bad I guess), sound system was atrocious unless you spend the extra $4K for the Sonus Faber system, and the depreciation curve was off the charts. And dont count on taking this overnight with two people. Absolutely no room for anything more than one small overnight bag. Ended up getting a new C8 Z06. Now with those, you're getting your money's worth!

The base model maybe but for the hybrid e-rays they are only doing 90-100 a week and that's in the 2nd year of release the first year they did a silly 2-5 cars a day. I hate to tell you also that maseratis are not known for great quality. I have a feeling if people took the percentage average between both of them.Chevy might be on top. Lol

Joe I could not agree with you more on the back of that Maserati compared to the C8 Corvette. The back fender in bumper of the C8 was designed basically around fitting golf clubs to me. I love the enthusiasm that you bring to the car reviews on this channel

I'm really conflicted on the MC20... on the one hand, as a prior Maserati owner, I love the brand and I think the design is fantastic. Timeless. Beautiful. But when I thought about selling my C8 Z06 convertible for an MC20 Cielo, I can't get past the fact that the Z06 is $100k less, sounds WAY better, goes faster around a track and in a straight line, has better tech, and won't lose as much in value as quickly. When faced with the idea of selling my Z06 and spending another $100k to 'upgrade' to the MC20, I can't justify it on any level other than looks.

Also the Z06 won't break sitting in the driveway and you can actually get it fixed without it sitting for 6 months at the stealership.

had one when they first came out (luckily got out before they took a big hit) but have to admit I liked it a lot more than my R8 (comparable to the huracan) and other supercars I owned. aside from the engine noise which i corrected with an exhaust, it just felt more alive and raw.

C8ZO6 with ZO7 is a superior car in all performance categories. ZO6 a much better supercar manufactured with highest quality components, handmade engine with fantastic fit and finish.

I’m a McLaren owner and also own a Maserati GranTurismo S. I thought my next car would be a Huracan, but my buddy IK, who has owned 7 McLarens and is a big McLaren guy, says this car is as good or better than a 720 because of the instant response and great handling. He says besides the lack of exciting sound, this car is in a whole other league that any RWD Huracan. He’s taken a beating on the depreciation and says it’s been worth it because of how exciting the car is to drive on the street and track. He says it’s been reliable. I’ve got to get behind the wheel of one of these before I commit to my next super car.

It’s a clean design car. The MC20 is just underrated. People would only go to Lamborghini for the name tag. I think if the MC20 had a V8 and more power, more people would consider it.

Joe I've driven a Huracan and a 488 (Velocity Driving) back to back and honestly, I'd take the Ferrari all day. Just the driving position, throttle feel, the way it corners, the feedback you get. A much better experience. And the Lambo has a HUGE space between the dash and the windshield and it feels like an Audi (shares so many parts). I've only seen MC20's, haven't been in one but I'm not even sure it is the best choice compared to a Ferrari. Depreciation on a Maserati drops like a rock. If you're going to go that route and want something Italian but more esoteric than a Ferrari or Lambo then maybe look at an Alfa Romeo 8C which by now has already taken the hit on depreciation?

I’ll be test driving a brand new 2023 MC20 Cielo (convertible) tomorrow. The price is discounted down to $175,000. Having to use the touch screen for most things sounds annoying, especially for the Cielo where you have to go into the menu to put the top up or down. I’m hoping the top can be operated by the key fob while the car is turned on. The dealer wasn’t sure so I’ll find out myself. You’re 100% right about the C8 rear. I really wanted to like the E-Ray. 60 in 2.5 seconds and with a supercharger or turbo kit it can hit 60 in 2 seconds. I just can’t get over the funky rear design. Worst taillights ever and the entire trunk just looks wrong.
