The US got a watered down version of the CR-V. Other countries get full digital cluster, full LED turn signals (with a cool sequence), ventilated seats, fog lights… etc. And it costs less.

@@Letsberealishumm no lol. All other vehicles in this segment (American included) have all or most of these features. This was a cheap cop out on Honda’s part. I can understand these things not being standard, but to not even include them at the top level trim is crazy, especially when the price exceeds 40 thousand.

The RAV4 is what people remember to have introduced this segment. However, few people realize that Suzuki has been making small 4x4 vehicles for longer than any of them. The closest comparable vehicle in this segment which is the Suzuki Vitara came out in 1988.

We bought one yesterday and are loving it. Our trades were a 2010 Insight and a 2010 Fit and we were the only owners, so we buy cars and keep cars. We both like this car, but are on a steep learning curve since our last new cars were 15 years ago. BTW we did not even drive other lines of cars because the reason we keep buying from our dealership is the Service Department. We have used them for 24 years and we trust them. Another enjoyable review, Mr. Raiti! Not very different from your excellent review of the 2023 Sport Touring trim...which is understandable, since Honda hasn't changed very much since then. As long as we're all focusing on trivial zonks like light bulb rear turn signals and analog speedometers, I'll mention the Sport Touring has more glossy black trim on the doors and dash than this model, which is more like my daughter's CRV-EX...the Sport Touring looks nicer but again...that's trivial. 2 questions: Does the Sport-L have the excellent 12 speaker Bose system like the Touring editions, or a lesser system...and does it have the acoustically lined window glass and wheel well sound proofing? Back in 23, I test drove both the Sport Touring and the Sport, and the Sport Touring was noticeably quieter than the Sport. Honda has improved on road noise, but on coarse pavement they still have some work to do. I love my Sport Touring which, in 23, stickered just above 40k and I thought it was worth the extra cost in my lease over the Sport. The only flaws in mine are an occasional rattle somewhere inside the left side of the dash, which doesn't pop up often enough for me to have the dealer disassemble the dash to find it, and I have more frequent drop outs in my Sirius/XM than I had in my previous leased high-end Accords. I miss the HUD compass and, just a bit, the ventilated seats. On the latter, the AC--even in economy mode--cools the car very quickly. I beat the EPA numbers in urban cycle during warm weather...often 42-44 mpg, and 29-32 on the interstate, averaging around 37 mpg in mixed driving. Yes, the numbers drop off during cold weather. Excellent off-the-line torque, and more than adequate passing power on relatively level terrain...haven't tried passing on a steep upgraded 2 lane road, though. The AWD seemed to work well in last winter's one week of really snowy weather here in Buffalo, but I don't doubt the Subaru's AWD is a better system for snow. I'm a low mileage driver and just hit 10k miles after 18 months, but I STILL look forward to every drive, unless I'm taking an antsy dog to the vet. PS: the chrome around the side windows doesn't bother me in the least. 2nd PS: the heated steering wheel in the Sport Touring is great! I only wish seats heated as quickly as the steering wheel.

American Honda has gotten so greedy and stingy with this new CR-V. Other manufacturers offer more features for less. It’s a shame as I’ve owned a Civic and currently own a previous gen CR-V. I want to consider another Honda but these prices aren’t compelling compared to what other brands offer for the money. I also hate how Honda only offers the hybrid in sport trims. The black rims are ugly as they look like a car with missing hubcaps imo and a black interior is so drab and it gets hotter during the summer. This is just a way for Honda to cost cut by offering fewer interior colors/trim pieces for the hybrid and not a lot of choices for the customer.

The RPMs reved really high and the car really struggled to hake it up the hills also loud engine noise I was worried something was really wrong, I googled it and sure enough several people were complaining about the same issue....Sadly these are things you don't find out in a test drive, this is my 1st hybrid and may be my last. ( the jury is still out ) Overall I love the CRV and in the city it is great, but dissapointed with how it performed on the trip. Luckly I don't drive that route but maybe once a year. Highways MPG were low 30's but in the city I am getting 40's so I am happy with that. The look and feel of the CRV and the infotainment system are far better than what my 2021 Kia Sorento had so I am very happy about that.

I don't want to have any real leather in the car and that's why I've opted to choose the basic trim to avoid leather. But Honda still puts leather-looking material on these parts! Do you have any information about this? I've tried asking Honda Canada, but they don't seem to have a clue! Their information is mostly about the material on the seats. And there seems to be no way to ask this question from the production line!!

If you test drive the Tucson Hybrid, be prepared to purchase. Once you sit in one you will quickly realize there is no comparison.

The thing is, at 185 inches long, it's more like a midsized SUV. It's longer than the RAV4 and almost as long as the Model Y.

But it's 8" shorter than the Accord. I had leased 7 consecutive high-end Accords, but the 2023 made it 1" too long for my garage. At first, I was disappointed. But at my age, my arthritic knees love the CRV over the low Accord seating, and it's nice having AWD.

The new CR-V imo would be at the top of the segment if it had more features, if the CR-V had just as many features as the RAV4, it would be at the top of the segment fs, the RAV4 still remains king in this segment for me but this new CR-V is a fantastic choice too

I'd like to think the reason for the fake dual exhaust is Honda has a plan for a power plant to compete with the RAV4 Prime, but that's wishful thinking. 204hp is a bit too tame.

After having a lease of the sportage PHEV and now having this, the sportage wins. Way more features for similar price and the Sportage is far more comfortable to ride in. Also, why the hell does honda still not offer ventilated seats on the CRV?!

How about other maintenance cost variables (Sportage vs CRV) especially long term reliability?
@waywardtemplar
@waywardtemplar 3 ай бұрын
@@stevenl4543 Kia had a better warranty but costs overall are about the same. Also, at the end of the day any reliability is overall based on how the owner of the vehicle treats the vehicle; obviously outside of weird defects.
