154K, almost fully loaded at my local dealer. It's very expensive, yes, but worth it and it will hold much of its value if you take excellent care of it and use it as your second car. My dealer doesnt have a base 911 under 149K. Four in stock now. The 992.2 is the best 911 ever, IMHO. I do believe 0-60 is 3.7 seconds on base with the Chrono Sport package. Great all around true sports car. This will be the only non hybrid 911 offered. I would pass on the aero kit for the street. I can see it being damaged on your first drive. It's like having a 3.5" ground clearance. Frunk is actually 4.8 cu in. LOL. Great video, thanks.

The .2 gt3 has brought back the .1 turn key panel, so there will be an aftermarket for retrofitting the old key panel. Buy one from spare parts now before there’s a run on them

The "best" 911 Turbo (930 aka The Widowmaker) was only $34,000 @ Porsche Stevens Creek in 1977. Not many houses for that price, modest or otherwise at that time. Porsche's prices have skyrocketed but not as fast a Bay Area real estate. 🤣

The only issue I have is the front air vent so open it shows the flat metal heat exchanger inside. It should have two more horizontal black bars to hide the heat exchanger.

I like how Porsche evolves their cars incrementally. It allows people to find the version that fits their criteria (it's something I've liked about Corvettes too). I notice that they have paint to sample. If I were to buy a new 911 (which I wouldn't due to technology) I'd get Night Blue Metallic or Ocean Blue Metallic. It's $14k but those colors are jaw dropping to me. I used to have a Carbon Black E46 M3 and I noticed Porsche charges $14k for that too - it was like $1500 on my M3. Porsche pricing is nuts.

I respect Porsche's focused engineering to produce this "spectacular" sportscar as you describe the car Joe. It should hit all the marks for that price of $160,000 but the cost of every option on Porsches have always been extreme. That is my view but am sure others will say worth the cost. I would love to see barebones 911 Carrera on dealer lots but rare if they are truly available. Thanks for sharing the ride with us all Joe!

Nice refinements, but, the 'technology package' in the lower front bumper doesn't look well integrated; maybe over time it'll grow on me. The absence of the trademark left-side ignition key is a major ZONK! and I prefer analog gauges. Any model year base Carrera is a potent machine; wait a year or two and buy this certified pre-owned. I'll hold on to our '18 991.2. You've got to do a review of the new Macan EV! Waiting for that!

I have a 992.1 Carrera with a glass sunroof. It opens up the cabin area; however, I don't like to blacked out aesthetic and would have preferred the look of a body color metal roof.

Joe, I went with a 992.2 GTS Coupe with seven speed manual and other options. Not as much power as the new .2 GTS but rowing gears can make speed limit driving more engaging.

Nicely done, but believe I’ll hang on to my 2023 992.1 Carrera……and…..ah….without the aero kit. ( just doesn’t fit ) ( thought for a minute there you were going to choke on the base price. 😮😂 ) I think you’re over stating it, quite frankly……at $120 K, you can start frosting it and by judiciously structuring your build, take delivery right at $145 K. ( get on the configurator and lose the aero kit and moon roof…..they’re not going to do anything for the comfort or handling. Plug in 14 or 18 way seats, extended range tank, lightweight glass, sport exhaust, sport-chrono and spice it up with a seatbelt color other than black…… You’re going to LOVE IT !! 🥰 ❤

As a Porsche lover for 55 years and an owner for 25 years I’m done with Porsche. My last gt3 was $155,00 a 2018. That’s only6 years ago. Now a Carrera T is more than my gt3! When I called about ordering a 992 gt3 they wanted $275,000. Now the 992.2 is going to be $225,000 BEFORE any options . When you include markups it’s going to be well over $300,000 probably close to $400,000. Some are speculating $500,000. When my GT3 was $155,000 a fair price for a 500 horsepower car. Porsche has made very minimal changes in the car, it would take a professional driver to “feel” the difference in my 991.2 GT3 and the 992. So why the huge increase? For a 500 hp car. Corvette has that much and their gt3 version has almost 700hp! For less than half the cost fully loaded. Now they’re going EV when no one wants them. The Macan is now EV only. I love Porsche but the GT3 as good as it is is a $150,000 car period. And get this the GT3 is LESS in Canada than it is in the US when the Canadian dollar is worth 70 cents US. That shows it’s a pure cash grab by Porsche. Porsche is ripping off the customer instead of the dealer. That’s nice. Most cars in this segment is well over 650 horsepower or greater while Porsche sits at 500. Lamborghini had 500 horsepower 20 years ago in their entry level car. Now they’re at 650. I think Porsche is like Biden, he’s not running the country, he’s taking a nap. Someone behind the scenes is running Porsche because these aren’t enthusiasts decisions . These are woke environmental decisions. Nobody in the US wants EVs except people who still wear masks inside their cars when alone. I told myself that if Porsche is going to charge Ferrari Lamborghini or McLaren money I’ll buy one of those and I did . A 24 Lamborghini huracan technica Maybe after 25 years as a 911 driver Porsche will make something to bring me back. I hope so, but not holding my breath

I'm a Porsche fan but I also own BMWs and Audis now let's look at it in 2012 a loaded out of S4 with 60,000 today a loaded out of S4 is 70,000 so that's about a 15 to 17% price increase a well equipped 911 in 2012 with about 100,000 today it's 160,000. That's a 60% increaseand when you get a loaded as four, you get full leather interior and everything else it's all in packages. It's all not nitpick options with $157,000 Carrera you don't even get adaptive sports seats.

Joe, you young man, you are probably not old enough to remember sunroofs were usually solid, color matched metallic or canvas doors that opened. Then, came the glass moonroof. They did not open. Now, the glass moonroof opens as a sunroof. Car history lesson 101 is done for today 😊

I can speak from experience on this. I owned a 992 Carrera T with a manual. It was a great and practical daily. Fun road trip car. I then had the opportunity to order a Z06. It is on another level more exciting to drive. The only downside is no manual. Compared to the car in the review though, I would completely say get the Z06. One good thing about the Porsche is that it holds its value probably better than the Z06. I was able to sell mine after a few months for almost what I paid for it.
