I have this card with a 5700X . Having no issues when i bought it since last year , its a great 1440p card . Sure u need dlss and frame gen on some games . But that's the perks of the 40 series .. even the Almighty 4090 sometimes needs dlss or frame gen. Thats just gaming in 2024.

Hate of this card but yes i would of buy it 10 more times again Its a great 1440p card anyways 12gb more than enough people just dont no wtf they want..everything for them is ultra graphics with rt on But come on 1440p eith frame gen and dlss on is good, even the 5090 going up will still have this feature, doesnt matter if u hate it or not its a wonderfull card sorry

if you have a problem with the fan noise then adjust the fan speed/curve, basic gamer stuff man, those cards can handle temps over 90c no problem...

its a 1080p GPU in my eyes in 2024, i like playing at native over 60fps and in 1440p in the games i would play won't do it anymore

1440p + DLSS Quality usually equals native 1080p in terms of performance, but looks a lot better, much closer to native 1440p. So technically 4070 is still a decent 1440p GPU, if you take DLSS into account.

@@Scott99259 DLSS Quality looks a bit rough at 1080p, to be honest. But you can raise render scale from 0,67 to 0,75. This way the image upscales from 900p (instead of 720p) and looks much better.

A 4070 is MORE than enough, just built a 4070 windforce paired witha 14600kf for a friend, he smashes everything in 2560x1440p without problems.

This will handle it fine. I've been using a standard 2070 for years at 1440p, without any trouble and getting consistently decent frame rates. This is just an upgrade, with better DLSS and Frame Generation.

i have a 3070 now and wanna upgrade to a 4070, because when more UE5 games will come... the 3070 is on its limits at 3440x1440. I would love to have a better 4070 model but dont have the money...

If you’re still happy with your 3070’s performance, it might be worth waiting a few more months. The RTX 5070 is expected to launch sometime in Q1 2025, and it could have better specs, like 16GB of memory. Otherwise, you might find yourself in a similar position a couple of years down the line. Plus, this gives you more time to get your finances in order.

There is AMD but I am just so curious about path tracing and I plan to always upscale so there is value in the ai upscaler. I want to have a reason to get an XTX instead but I also am not interested in running a 600watt PC just to be sweated out of the game room in the summer. Oof

I disagree. This is $880 right now in Australia and represents the best value GPU that Nvidia have released for years. When I got the 2070, it was $1100 and went up to $1450.

I like this card . I have 12700k and 3070. I want to upgrade either the cpu to 13700kf or the 3070 to 4070. Not sure which one to upgrade for even better performance for 1080p gaming .what would you do other than don’t upgrade ?

In my opinion I wouldn't even borrow for getting a 4070 because they graphics card overpriced and don't let others convent you getting that overpriced graphics card, plus I would keep your cpu because it's perfectly fine and the 13 and 14 gan are have problems. Basically I'm saying don't follow to peer pressure to get in this graphics card and your cpu will last you for a good while, Plus if you do wanna go new graphics card it's either look at AMD because they have better prices for their performance or wait till Nvidia brings out new graphics card so they are 40 series become cheaper.

I have a 12700k and 6600XT - I just bought a 1200w PSU and I'm either dropping in a 7900XTX or I'm doing nothing and waiting until the 5090 is released. I can't see the point of anything else at this stage given the 4080 Super looks to be an expensive card with a very short lifespan due to only 16gb vram - and I'm not going to pay top dollar for a 4090 when its hopefully faster replacement is six months or so away. No CPU change for me - the 12700k is plenty fast enough and a lot more reliable than the 13th and 14th gen intels.

I have that same thermometer/humidity meter lol. Bluetooth app with max min humidity's sorta nice, but loads slow and sometimes off by 1%. Still, a very good humidity meter for its low price. I recommend it! More on topic, lol, I'm either getting the super version of this gpu, or the more expensive Msi Gaming X slim 4070 Super.

The only downside to that thermometer is that you have to change battery more often. I think I'm going through 2 or 3 per year. 4070 SUPER is good. That's what I have in my main PC and I'm enjoying it. I hope you'll get to enjoy yours soon.

You are looking at it. It's $880 at Scorptec. Delivery is fast and if you want to go the AMD route the RX 7800 XT is around $800, although XFX have one at $720. The Sapphire Pulse is only $20 more, which is the way I would go, as the Pulse is an excellent card, higher clock frequency mainly and it runs cooler. The 7900 GRE is also a good card at $830. I would stick with Nvidia as I like the drivers, the automatic overclocking in the GeForce Experience, seamless and automatic updates of drivers with all the features I need and more.

Stats display? It's free. Called CapFrameX. Good software. I've been using it for years. The GPU will behave the same with both AMD and Intel CPUs. Just get the one that suits your needs.

4k balanced dlss is better than 1440p native Also.. I think the software RT runs slower on Nvidia gpus than it would if it had the ray tracing running on the RT cores. And if it is NOT faster.. the lighting will be more accurate on hardware rt

Got the 4070 Super as it has same price as a non Super and 7900 GRE where I live 650$ tax included. So Nvidia was the best choice over AMD just because of the same price and less power consumption. Sure it has less ram but it performs the same and DLSS may help in some games.

I'm just going to say this the 4070 and the super are overpriced graphics cards should not buy even if you're trying to upgrade your 2070 or 3070, because as soon as you get the card you will realize you wasted your money on it. The 4070 and the super version if it was between 360 to 420 that would be a fair deal, plus I find all this dlss, frame generation, FSR how many other systems like these that I wish didn't exist because I would rather the games run on the raw performance then all of the stuff. Basically I'm saying if a graphics card can run on a game on their own raw performance and not use these generated stuff then these graphics cards would be pretty damn good, plus I would prefer dlss, frame generation, FSR how many other systems like these to be on the older graphics cards instead of the new ones to allow people to use the older graphics card for much longer instead of wasting their money on the new ones every time that AMD or Nvidia brings out a new graphics card.
