I have been very fortunate to be able to eat a healthy keto for 2 years now without any gut issues. I like how I feel after eating 8 cups of salad every day and steak, shrimp, and eggs. It's been (OMAD) for me after my first year now into keto.

The diet that you said 70% of people should be on is what my Keto diet morphed into and I have inflammatory digestive issues and I always wanted homemade chicken soup so funny how your body intuitively leads you in the right direction. My body handles potato’s better than rice and bread for some reason. My ancestors are mostly Hispanic so not sure there. I also think how certain countries process and grow certain foods like rice and grain makes a big difference whether people can handle eating those foods or not also.

Keto is the only thing that makes me feel like a normal human. No ill symptoms. And not having my gallbladder, the high fat does not disrupt my digestive system. All of the SAD foods do.

I did the keto diet and lost over 40 pounds rather quickly, however, because my gallbladder had been removed several years prior I suffered quite a bit of gastrointestinal upset. My body could not handle that much fat, even though it was healthy fat. I tried the various methods recommended by some “experts” to help with digestion but it just did not work. I then went on a low carb diet which allowed more carbs but not highly processed carbs. That works much better. Of course, I had already lost all the weight that I wanted to at that point. If I ever needed to lose several pounds again I would try the carnivore diet instead.

Carnivore is superior to keto when it comes to inflammation regulation and chronic disease symptom management. It's actually one of the most gut-friendly, nutrient-dense, and anti-inflammatory diets you can follow, that also works wonders for managing/reversing chronic autoimmune issues. It helps you achieve rapid weight loss and improves body composition almost effortlessly. Eating only high-quality, bioavailable animal foods and abstaining from toxic plant foods resets your gut microbiome, addresses gut dysbiosis, supports your hormones, nervous system, brain, etc. Plus, many other benefits. "Keto Carnivore Diet For Beginners" by Henrik Olafsson is a nice read on the topic. It includes shopping lists, meal ideas, 30+ FAQs, and a 14-day meal plan.

Great. But as he said...it doesn't work for everybody. I have been trying carnivore to try to address my chronic illness but it makes me sicker. I just can't do it, even though I adore grass fed local beef, tallow, etc. Yet when I add back potatoes, rice & organic veg, I feel better. As he said in the video towards the end...whole civilizations, many of whom are very healthy (ie Japan) eat grains. It is very individualized. One size fits all isn't realistic in the health world. Trying to push it can really hurt a person, as I've learned.

Sorry it didn’t work for you! I agree it’s not for all, although our foods have lost most nutrients, like if the soil doesn’t have magnesium in it, it doesn’t go into the plants! Mushrooms are awesome all on their own right!

Definitely have to go low carbs, I had cirrhosis, that was a combo of too much tequila, anger and such. Yes I went through the belly draining for around 6 months, was on medications for it, stopped the medications, liver doctor wouldn’t renew my one prescription, which was a water pill, fine, because I hadn’t been seen in his office. Okay, I was in another state and would make an appointment then. But no, I called for an appointment, no can do, because my insurance hadn’t been updated and they wouldn’t accept an update from me, it had to come from my primary doctor, which I really didn’t have one. So that was the end of my doctors visits. Sorry to go on, just wanted to explain a bit! My sister wanted me to get on a transplant list, 😳, which I wasn’t even that bad for them to consider. Anyway my long point is how emotions play a huge role in our health. I know when I eat yo many carbs. I can feel it in my pancreas! Much Love To All!

@@KellyLamb So true. I completely agree with you. I can not do carnivore at all. The lack of carbs destroys my thyroid, my brain, everything. When I add fruit back into the picture, everything gets better. I feel normal again. People don't realize that we're all different. Yes we're all human, but we're all uniquely made with a different set of gene expression. I'm italian, my ancestors thrived on fruit and other carbs. I can't even do very low carb, my body just breaks down. There are centenarians who have thrived on meat and carbohydrates, my ancestors are one of them. My grandparents lived long, but I believed they could have had a healthier life if it just wasn't for all the vegetable oil they ate, and the hybrid wheat. It definitely wasn't fruit's fault.
