Is the Killteam Starter Set Designed for the After market?

So I (Cal) made a mistake when researching this I believed that this was Space Marine Heroes Series 1 but it is Series 4. That is my mistake and I apologize for the mistake, I did research but not well enough I am sorry. The series was called Warhammer Heroes when I bought it and it included Kill Team cards with each figure (as released in the States.)

At my local club some of our best looking terrain is MDF and we made it ourselves. I'm actually in a unique position where I can make my own MDF terrain. I volunteer at a youth centre and they recently bought a cheap lasercutter from China. Once again I'm lucky to be 1 step ahead of James Workshop. HAHAHA! 3D PRINTER GO BRRRRR! LASER CUTTER GO ZAAAAP! 😂😂😂

I don't have them. I just have access to them. So I'm allowed to play with them. Recently I 3D printed an entire Eldar corsair kill team. I think the best business model for this type of technology is to allow people to use it for a reasonable fee and only maintain the tech and the space its in. Because of the fumes and the waste, you need a special space. Also this allows people to create what they want without having to invest the money and effort into learning all the minute ins and outs of the technology. That's where I and others come in as an instructor. This type of shit will destroy capitalism one day. As long as we can keep the prices reasonable and the cost of maintenance remains stable. This all has the added bonus of allowing hobbyists to avoid giving unreasonable ammounts of their hard earned cash (or their parent's money) to a predatory monopolistic company who is so stupid that they put their own advertising behind a paywall. Warhammer+ is to 40k what the Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon is to the card game. Except its behind a pay-wall and I've been mad at GW ever since they STOLE KZbin animators' right to express their love for the hobby.

GW hasn't done non-elastic terrain since Mordheim cardboard. This is going to be interesting. Also, complete sets of the Heroes series will definitely become an aftermarket feeding frenzy.

But yeah you're right it has been a long time since they did non plastic terrain and I thought it was necromunda was the last time they did terrain in cardboard with some plastic? But you could be right, but no cardboard actually it's MDF which new for GW! - Cal

Yep, seems perfect for me, I should be able to convince my son to try it with me. That new Space Marines game peaked his interest in Warhammer. Thankfully the Space Marines are the protagonist's so he's drawn to them. I can keep my Plague Marines without a fight, nya!

Strike Force Justian was Heros Series 4. I'm a bit buyest by this set because I want Strike Force Justian with was region restricted release. And I'm holding my breath that it will be cheaper, especially compared to the Hivestorm. I'm new to the kill team and I'm hoping that these 64 pages book will be similar to older GW starter books that have only rules without fluf

@WhatareyouPaintingnow man, sorry to hear that my friend, who a veteran told me the same about the crazy prices.he runs a farm now. I can only imagine how bad the new kill team price or hell even the upcoming Christmas bundles are price wise there.on the up side, they nerf the knight bundle that people wanted. In terms of cut out stufff that should be included in the pack, so now word on the street is that most went from gotta get it to nope never mind. Cut off the nose to spite their face. Games work shop two steps forward into a rake like side show bob lol 😆

I wish it was the Space Marine heroes series 1 (or 2) which were up-scaled Firstborn miniatures and they looked awesome. Only managed to snag one of them up before the local store ran out of stock and never got restocked because GW stopped producing them

I will be getting this set. My son will want the Space Marines and I want the Plague Marines. The MDF terrain will be interesting. Seems like it will fill the same role as the Ryza Ruins set.

I really appreciate the new terrain, I hate painting terrain, when I buy a box I wish it came as a pop out cut out ready to use. MPF is definitely the way to go.

I don't know how I feel about this set. Considering the price I would rather get Infinity Code One. It cost 200 bucks more in my currency but it all so offers a lot more. 14 metal figures, Ready-to-play, double-sided printed cardboard scenery (4 Buildings, 4 Holoads, 2 Public Consoles, and 9 Blast Barriers) A game mat, 6 twenty-sided dices (3 for Nomads and 3 for Ariadna), Cardboard markers, templates and a measuring tool.

I just watched a video that said Code-One is dead. But of course every model you get in that set is usable in the main game as well. They are also going to have a new type of starter set for people like me . I'm just starting to learn about Infinity myself and the N5 hype is starting to get me excited!
