1. To save the seat setting so that the seat could extend back to help you get out of the car. And come back to the right position when you in the car. 2. There are time we have to adjust seat on the fly and it’s extremely dangerous to move the bottom slider of the seat.

This McLaren is engineered exactly how you would want an exotic sports car to be built. Straight forward, to the point. Not a daily driver. No heavy extra nonsense weighing the car down like power seats. And most importantly all of the technology focused on the driving experience. Plus, I think it has plenty of storage for what you will want to use it for.

I've heard the argument for steering column mounted paddles before, and in case you're not aware, there's a reason why paddles are mounted to the wheel - and I tend to agree with that reason, especially on a car designed for track use. Most of this explanation comes from HPDE events a couple times a year, so I'm no expect, but the reasoning makes sense to me. There really isn't a ton of need to be going hand over hand when driving on track. Even in the tightest of turns, it's pretty unlikely that you'll truly _need_ to move your grip position. Paddles mounted on the wheel allow you the benefit of not having to move your hands off the wheel when making a shift, which is preferable to taking your hand off the wheel to find a paddle in a known position. Anyways, just in case you were wondering why some manufacturers put them on the wheel. May be less convenient in street driving for hand-over-hand turns, but it's safer and faster for shifts on track when you won't be moving your hands anywhere near as much, if at all.

The 570S is another super car that is a perfect range of performance & quality at a value.. If I had the means.. it would be this or the Ferrari Portafino. Both have great styling.. both are fast and precise. I think the 570s may give you more per $

What some people may not know is that McLaren has won more F1 races in the last decade or so than Ferrari has. McLaren's are about precision not passion, and they do it very well. Thanks.

That's not true, they've won less both counting from 2007 and counting from 2010. Also it's been five years since they have won a race.

Paddles are not attached to the wheel because its actually bad habit to change a gear mid corner. The relative torque changes (especially on downshift) can destabilise a car and what you don't want is to destabilise a car going at speed, when the car isn't straight. That would be bad. Gear changes should all be done before turns are made.. Good preparation = faster.

10:19 "There's nothing like a good v8 sound" only, that is NOT a good v8 sound. Cross plane cranks sound great, flat plane cranks sound like stressed 4's. There is a huge difference to those who can hear it. Nice review, great car!
