It should be 10% minimum remember the military 🪖 literally put their lives sometimes sacrifice their lives for their country junior doctors getting 22% all the benefits the military get is more than deserved respect our military who at times sacrifice their lives so that we can live the way we are living BIG UP THE BRITISH ARMED FORCES

Hey BFBS 👊🏼 No, however 6% is a step in the right direction... Overall, young people deserve a complete package, to recruit & retain them. ⚠️ Veterans also deserve to be first on the housing list. Thanks for sharing, Ubique

''They're thousands of pounds better off''...yeah, but they're not though, are they? The cost of living has seen to that. (everyone has struggled through this I know, not just soldiers). You've alluded to the fact that this is the biggest pay rise in 22 years. Thats not something to be happy about. That just means the military have been getting shafted for 22 years. And now it's in absolute dire straights, the government have decided to give what appears on paper as a good pay rise. But frankly if you're getting an extra £1500 (for example) but expenses like utilities, food, cars, mortgage rates and more have gone up to the point where collectively they are costing more than the pay rise...it's disingenuous to say the military will be thousands of pounds better off. I'm not going to complain about a pay rise, that's excellent. But when houses now cost 320k on average in the UK, how does an extra few thousand combat that? When gas/electricity is costing £400-500 more a year than it did 2-3 years ago, when food bills are up £100-200 extra a month. But when our own MP's are giving themselves pay rises that take them close to £100k a year and then also claiming expenses worth tens of thousands of pounds, it's a real kick in the balls.

It's the people at the bottom who need the biggest payrise. The increase should have been staggered, 8% for the bottom, 5 % for the top etc. My CO is on 85K, his payrise is £5,100 !

Carns is just an out of touch plonker He states that after putting up accommodation charges it’s ’great value and subsidized’ quality is lacking as black mould and cockroaches are abundant as is the 6 week wait to get your boiler fixed, maybe the privatization of service accommodation has taken money out of providing good accommodation into profits for the private company In the 1980’s accommodation was far better than now. Best pay rise in 22 years equates to 22 years of low pay. Armed forces sold out again, sold out in numbers, kit, pay as are veterans the forgotten and inconvenient for politicians Not a very hard hitting interview

Not impressed, not impressed at all. The biggest pay increase in 22 years just means we've been getting underpaid for 22 years!!! So 6% doesn't even come close to enough. Accommodation increase should still be on pause until the housing is at an acceptable standard, which it is not!

I do not begrudge junior doctors getting a reasonable pay rise. However at least have some closer parity between their 22% and the armed forces pay rise! As usual, and Labour are no different to Conservatives, no government takes care of our armed forces the way they should!

😅😅😅Nope the 80's yuppy had kids and now i have a majority of youngsters who are money obsessed . They dont want to serve this greedy rock when outside the wire they can earn the same as a warrant officer in their 20's. The pensions got destroyed in 2015. So why stay? The RAF has lost 30000 people in 20 years, countless aircraft and capabilities. With a Raf at 28000.....i hope you like conscription folks. I know countless number of technicians that have left and earn more for doing less. Its a little too late really, accommodation is rubbish , the illegals get better, food is hit and miss, those in power want to fly fly fly and just look at hours flown......10 years ago an experienced technician had 8/10 years under their belt....today they call 2 years experienced........most have never deployed.....the incident rate will sadly go up.......shhh most aircraft technicians cant fix their own cars are use basic hand tools correctly. Industry already is aware of how rubbish the youngsters are.
