Excellent objective review. I personally thing using headphones to practice can be a live safer depending on your living situation. What I would like to see is not only bluetooth from your phone but also the ability to use wireless air pods. This would eliminate a chord.
@MrShadowofthewind2 ай бұрын
But that would cause latency, it's just not fast enough yet.
@AlecBourneMidiMadScientistАй бұрын
The only way to get wireless headphones is not via Bluetooth, you'd have far too much latency. Systems that work would be IEM's and you're still dealing with cables to your in ears, best solution out there I think is still the boss Waza airs, those have the amp and effects built right into the headset and are phenomal sounding, way more configurations possible than with the Fender. Many third party editors now available and wireless foot controllers are compatible by using these apps. For a true system with everything it is the way to Go. Practice involves a lot more than just strumming, with that setup you can run through your actual footwork drills as well and have everything you would with a normal pedalboard without hunting for power points or being stuck in your studio space

Is there a looper pedal option? It's a great device for practice seems a looper pedal for your rig is something any level musician would want.

I don't agree on a bunch of points. Having presets is huge. Being able to tap into Fender Tone tools is huge. It has many more use cases than the orginal as a virtual studio.
@LevivanLeeuwen175 күн бұрын
I agree. Presets is quite an extra usable functionality and controlling it with an app is a huge Plus (what's in a name).

Update.....after barely 2 months, the volume knob on my Boss Katana go came off and now it's nearly impossible to use the volume seamlessly from low to high level....I have to press the volume rotator knov real hard....and I feel so disappointed that it's like very flimsy......I really treated it as a fragile thing and it still have up, keeping fingers crossed on this fender micro plus

Thanks for playing social CHORDS! Most videos show guys shreddin g lead and never get to hear what the guitar effects have on chords not just lead. I'm 70 year young and if I turn up gain and distortion I can sound like Stevie Via too!!!! More like Zappa.....lol

I have to disagree, this brings considersbly more functionality... In a studio space is one thing but on the move swapping guitars, testing pedals out, the ability to customize your presets to your gear is key. There are better systems out there but this vs the old micro i would say no competition. Once you're all dialed in you can forget the app but this is a great improvement.
@JayceAllanGuitarАй бұрын
@@AlecBourneMidiMadScientistyou bring up good points but my comparison was as a practice tool. I bought the original so I could sit on the couch and practice, while streaming the songs I need to learn to the Mustang via Bluetooth. That’s my use case and the use case I’m addressing. If you’re using it to record or even to gig with (yes some people do) then yes, the new model is a vast improvement. But if you’re just practicing with it, and you already own the original, it probably isn’t worth the money. But you are definitely correct. The new one has far more options and functionality.

@@JayceAllanGuitarI agree with you especially with no possibility to include lets say overdrive and distortion pedals for 2 different slots. They were making same obstacle for fender mustang v2 amp series where there was 1 slot for overdrive or dist or fuzz or chorus + 1 slot for reverb like pedals. Then they got rid of app Fender Fuse as microsoft silverlight was not supported or something. And introduced new series of amps. So you buy that plus and after years it happens your android version gets too old or phone won't support that software.

Edit: I returned mine since the app only got worse after the most recent update, which left the micro an expensive paperweight. The app breaks often with every other update it seems, weirdly enough I got it to work on an old android phone I had lying around. The app was still buggy but it works well when it does, not too many presets up there and the search function could have been better. I hope they fix it soon because this product has a lot of potential when it works, I'm actually gigging with it soon.

I have the original Mustang Micro. I will say that scrolling through the different amps without having to waste time manually changing the setting and with more effect features, it's tempting to invest in the next gen Micro. However on the flip side, the original does almost the same features except for the added features. I'm on the fence with that. I also have a Mustang GT40 which the updated Tone app.

@gbkiller007Ай бұрын
Its way too noisy to be used as an interface. Not grounded. The line out on it is very clean though so its best to line out to a mixer then into your recording interface. Unuseable capturing the signal from the USB and straight into DAW.
