I’ve had mine for about a month. I’ve been a tube amp only guy for years. I was very impressed with everything. The app is easy to use and the amp captures are great.

The QC is small already so I’m not sure what the application for this one would be unless it is more for saving space in a rig? Or it is an entry level QC to get their feet wet on capturing and a modular

The ideal use for this is someone who has a rig they love, but they're tired of carrying it around, or tired of the space it takes up on stage. for example, I have a 5150 III 50 watt amp and 4x12 cab. I use a Line 6 HD500X for effects only. If I was tired of lugging a half stack around, I could capture the amp and cabinet, put the NanoCortex on my pedalboard right next to the HD500X, and boom. No more carrying my amp and cabinet around. If I decided I don't want to use the effects processor, I could just use the onboard effects on the Nano, and for an overdrive, I can just capture my Tube Screamer or SD-1 and place it in front of the amp block.

I bought a TRS to XLR Adapter for the Output, Problem solved. Works Like a charm

I like that it basically takes waiting for firmware to add amps out of the equation, since you can just download someone’s capture of whatever you want to play. However, limited effects means I can’t do much with it. I’d still get a QC if I had a gun to my head. It’s more, but it covers everything I need.

i have mine, i love it, i have been a tube guy, pedals etc. tried this one, just for fun, money is not a concern to me, i bought too many s*** already lol. look cool it was hyping 😂, im still using it and been keeping me away from my tubes now for 2 weeks, its the convenience for me, tone and feeling its there. i only play bed room. it works for me thats whats important.

No overdrive is absolutely mental. Captures always sound better when capturing without an overdrive, and adding one after the fact.

@@colinparks619This. I don’t use any OD blocks in the QC. None of them sound half as good as my real drive pedals. This is just an amp in a box that does captures and gives you 4 presets. In that regard, it’s a great unit.

I like NDSP a lot but what's the point of this over a ToneX pedal, especially since it's on sale for $300 right now? Edit: Looks like you can capture straight from the Nano Cortex, which is pretty nice I suppose.

The answer is no. Headrush Flex Prime exists and smokes it in EVERY category of feature set. You can argue accuracy of captures but that’s subjective.

@travisspaulding2222 Nothing since the nano cortex is missing key features that's super essential. But if they had those features, me or any would probably sell the Quad Cortex as it would be more compact and cheaper.

@MrScrofulous I sold all of mine since my quad cortex already has them. I don't want a amp capture with an overdrive. I want just the overdrive. I want to be able to switch overdrives out while keeping the same amp. You're just creating more work by having to capture the amp with the overdrive. That's why it's a terrible product. People should be able to swap overdrives without having to change the amp

Didn’t like it. Sent it back to Sweetwater. I thought it had a really cold unforgiving tone and feel. I couldn’t get rid of that characteristic in any of the presets or my own captures of plugins so I threw in the towel and returned it. I wanted to like it. Kinda bummed out but oh well. I’ll stick with plugins.

Capture only devices are hit and miss tone wise,a dedicated Modeling unit is better in my opinion because you can change the effect chain order and that can make a big difference in getting a better tone and also many modelers have a Effects Loop so you can add your favorite effects and put them in any order in the effects chain,even the Nano Cortex would sound good in a effects loop because you can put it in the signal chain and change the order to make it sound better and do not forget the EQ in your modeler that can fine tune your tone to make everything sound better!
