Ahh, I've been waiting for this review!! Everything I expected. It looks good and sounds good. Not sure how I feel about the EV part. Everyone is talking about weight, for me weight for me is never an issue when buying a car. I buy for style, tech, and the comfort of the vehicle. I'm not a racer who will be doing drag racing and all that other stuff. To each is own. Great review as always. 👍🏾🔥

The EV part will save you a fortune on gas, adds loads of torque, makes it faster than the outgoing model and allows you to drive this actually 800+Hp car (it’s been dyno’d) in complete silence when you need to. Trust the tech. The reviewer’s comments about having to plug-in a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is very odd. It’s like buying a diesel vehicle and complaining about having to put diesel in it!

Yeah I wish there was an option for just gas or the hybrid. I have a hybrid X5 and would go back to just gas. But it is neat technology.

@@gregmcgarry1it won’t actually save on gas at all. I own an X5 hybrid and while it can go farther. It weights more than the gas version. So when you calculate it out. It’s not much better. So with the added 1500 pounds over the previous model. The weight kills the mpg. But if you have ever owned a plug in, you do have to plug it in if you want a full charge without using fuel to charge the battery, it is an inconvenience and one more thing to remember. It’s more simple to fill up with diesel or gas and you don’t do that every single day, so that’s not the same..

The cape york i5 is my dream car, that or the 2 door 25 mini. This is similar to the i5 so i naturally love it, id actually consider this if i was able to purchase either, but i personally like the ev aspect of the i5, simpler maintenance

Sure you don’t have to do oil changes or simple maintenance like that. But trying to fix a large battery integrated into the structure of the car, or replacing it, no gas car would ever cost that much to fix or replace.

Thanks for the support! And no! That wont happen. That was a big government push to go EV and a lot of auto manufacturers are already finding out that won’t work, that’s why hybrids are becoming more popular. EV’s aren’t the answer so gas will be around for a while.

It will take a very long time to get used to this plug in business. I would never remember to ever plug this in unless my house has a charger etc. So I’m going to rely on the v8 alone. The only way I’d ever get to charge it is while driving. So for that reason I’m out. Watching from Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦 Great review otherwise

I own a plug in hybrid X5, I use the simple 3 prong outlet and it’s a full charge overnight, nothing special. Just have to remember to plug it in!

The new look is horrible. Too long and not aggressive in comparison to the previous M5. Its rival, the Audi RS7 performance is such a better looking sedan, which is equal in performance. Love BMW M, but not this one. Will be moving to Audi RS for a few years.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed "Mood" lights are new, and there is less stitching, and more hard plastics compared to previous gen M5. Personally I prefer Cadillac CT-5 Blackwing Precision, because it is much more involving to drive, sounds way better, is lighter, and better-looking too. And they kept the physical buttons for most common functions.
