They're so used to driving crazy light sports cars and supercars on the daily, so of course their point of reference is going to be skewed. Me personally, I'm used to driving SUVs and trucks. I have had the pleasure of testing out a f87 M2, g80 M3 comp, f80 M4, 991 carrera s, corvette c6, Z4 35is, etc. But I dont own or live with these cars, so they all feel like insanely fast sports cars to me.

BMW’s new interior design philosophy of just replacing wood and leather in some areas for lights is quite a move. I saw this in the new x3 and it makes the interior look more cheap instead of luxurious. And on top of that , after a few years or months of ownership it will be dust hell.

@@SimonGonzalOSI had a G90 rental for a week recently and it only had 1500 miles. IMO, the interior looks much better in pictures online than in person after spending some time there. It seems and feels a little cheaper in the materials than I’d like in that car. I think too much glossy plastic still. But I will say, after about a dozen hours in the seats, I loved them, and overall it was nice car.

No matter how much reworking or gloss black with trim around the edge, or vacuum front splitter they add, I can't UNSEE the piggy nostrils at the front of this vehicle. Its a design language GONE WRONG and they continue to stick with it. The M3/M4 looks a little more fitting, but this car looks bizarre up front in my opinion. They've done a good job working with what they have, but you can't deny that nostril snout up front, like the car is foraging on the pavement.

Yep this new M5 is missing the full leather interior from the old M5 (and not even as an option). Too bad as the doors, the upper dash, the lower console look cheap. They were all previously covered in Marino leather. Along with the massage seats and soft closing doors, those are 3 misses for everyday drive. Hope I see you at the show this week!

Well a car weighing over 5000 pounds can't escape physics! I've owned 4 M cars over the years and currently own an M3! So know a little about what I'm talking about! BMW has built a car that's a little faster in a straight line than the last gen M5, but handles a little better than a dodge demon around the curves! That's not a true representation of the BMW mantra!

A 2015 M5 Had the same v8, weighted 4400, started around around 100k. Single turbo, 560 ponies. A 2023 model started around 110k Same engine, though twin turbo, weights 4300lbs. 600 ponies

There’s something “not durable” looking about this car. Nice for a week, after all that glossy plastic gets sand blasted (and you lose a few radiators from rocks), and then you scratch it up in a car wash, you’ll wish you spent $50K for the car. With the weight and size, a Model Y Performance may be the better buy and might actually last longer.
