Normally id agree with you, but last chronicled wish i wanted mona because i had played this game for 3 years at that point i think and i didnt have mona. Mona was the only standard that i loved and i had a c7 diluc at that point. Its annoying fs but for those special cases like me its nice. However if they keep the 5 star standard per anniversary then yeah… standards on it are useless

Some people WANT those characters. For example; it took me 3 years to get Diluc. Don't have Tighnari (don't want him), but have C4 Jean and I think like C3 Keqing. Would love C4 Mona instead. (Some of those have been from standard banner.) However, not everyone feels the same way. I've seen people literally begging for Qiqi cons, or just her, even though she is bad. Or Keqing once she became kinda meta with aggravate. CW is for fans of the characters that are very niche or just don't perform well to be able to get them, and standard 5* from that region, so you can specifically pick whatever you'd like. Genshin is a story-driven OW RPG, some people LOVE those characters you consider a waste of primogems, and likewise some people will never pull on some characters due to hating them even if they are/were meta (Arlechomo was meta for like 5 months before Mavuika dragged her lol, would never pull her tho. Wanderer is an objectively good Anemo DPS, would never pull him tho.) That is why CW exists. Genshin isn't as character-dependent as HSR, which needs frequent reruns to make teams even be functional. For instance, RM is pretty much irreplaceable for break teams, especially Firefly teams. No 4* counterpart. Robin for FUA support and Sunday for Summon support, no 4* counterpart or even standard 5* counterparts. Genshin doesn't have super-specific restrictive teams like HSR, the most restrictive team comps are Chevreuse and Nilou and even then, they're extremely flexible compared to HSR teams. Meta over there also moves very quickly, Genshin doesn't have as hard of an endgame, my Hu Tao can still 36* every Abyss whether the blessing benefits pyro or not, same with my Ei. People wanted Shenhe to return and now she is there. Stop whining.

The real reason why Chronicled Wish currently really frustrates me is because I'd been hanging onto my guaranteed for a long while under the assumption that the character I want would be rerunning on an event banner like normal. Instead, now I have to spend up to double the wishes on CW, probably getting a character that I'd be less than happy with, and have to deal with the same system again if I want a chance at the sig weapon as well.

Chronicled banners are the one thing I do genuinely wish ran for the full patch, but as much as I call them the Evil 4th Banner, they've been helpful to get the stuff Hoyo keeps putting in the vault and making utterly inaccessible to players who started post-Sumeru like me. I got Beacon of the Reed Sea for my Diluc last time around and this time my sibling can *finally* get Memory of Dust for their beloved Ningguang DPS team. I like the weapon banner portion much more than the character one, but it's baseline helpful to look at the Chronicled wish and see exactly who they don't plan to rerun again until 6.0 at the earliest.

Cryo has always been worse than geo im afraid. Folks just got tricked easily into believing cryo was better than it really is cause we had lots of freezable content back in 1.X-2X. but ever since sumeru that element has taken nothing but massive Ls while every other element has only thrived in their own ways.

Nah, I'd say that over all the two elements are about equal. The best of geo is good in spite of being geo. As for cryo, freeze is mostly dead but melt is still a useful reaction but the lack of stronger reverse melt dps units has made the few forward melt pyro units stand out more. As things stand currently both elements have roughly half their respective rosters performing in a lackluster manner without heavy vertical investment. Both elements still need some role updates that match the current state of the game. Xilonen and Citlali were good steps in that direction.

This chronicle banner was super worthwhile for me because there were 4 limited 5-star characters on there that I didn't have yet, and among them was Shenhe, whom I really wanted. That means even if I try for Shenhe and lose 50/50 along the way, there is a 50% chance for me to get another limited 5* I don't have yet, and then get Shenhe guaranteed anyway. That alone made this banner super high value for me, but on top of that I also still needed cons for several Liyue 4* characters. Long story short, I got my Shenhe, picked up Baizhu along the way (very nice), got Xingqiu to C6 (FINALLY), and also got a few other useful cons on top. This has been the most value I got out of any banner in ages. If a banner is worth it or not depends entirely on what you are trying to get out of it. For me personally, the Mondstadt chronicle banner was a sad joke in comparison. And so was the Mavuika Banner tbh.

I'm struggling to think of 7 Inazuma 5-stars that WOULD be on the next Chronicled wish, since there will be only 1 Inazuma standard 5-star. It would have to be something like: Itto, Ayato, Kokomi, Yoimiya, Mizuki, Ayaka and Yae. Basically all of them EXCEPT Raiden and Kazuha. Seems kinda unlikely though. Maybe they wont do a regional theme next time, or they'll do Sumeru and Inazuma combined, or something.

my opinion is that the chronicle banner is just another way to milk money that is obviously a bit useless, i believe what they should do is merge the chronicle banner into the standard banner and the duration of it is like the limited banner for each region, it will make the acquainte fates more valuable but it's too drastic of a change they won't do something like that

Hu Tao still sells well and I doubt they will ever add an Archon to that banner. It seems that they typically add limited units that have had reruns with noticeably declining sales. Though Baizhu seems to run counter to that (pretty sure his rerun actually performed better than his initial banner).

I think the chronicled wish should rotate each patch, and replace the 50/50 on event banners. Meaning if you were wishing for Mavuika etc but lost your 50/50, it’d then roll from your chronicled wish selection with a 50/50 for your selected or for a random. Then remove standard banner and make it so chronicled can use any fate type.

The Chronicle banner is so situational and depends from player to player. For me it's an easy skip, the only character I don't have is Ganyu and I don't like her play style. So yeah good luck with your pulls! 🤞 for earlys

You also need a decent 5* polearm. He will also never get better because he already is the most catered to main dps in the entire game with 3 BiS supports.

In hindsight, they should have released way more characters as non-limited, and added them to standard (after a FOMO waiting period) with a target selector. They don't seem to want to add a third or fourth rerun slot, and they have to keep characters "limited" even if hardly anyone wants them anymore, and they don't want to undermine sales of new characters by giving Chronicled lower pity or better odds, so we're left with a junkbin banner that's only worth it if you love a specific outdated character/weapon.

Okay, so I originally wanted Jade Cutter so I can finally realize my Sub-DPS Layla (it went nowhere she's still shit) but I decided that I was sick of seeing that ugly Viridiscent Hunt green on my Faruzan so I went for Polar Star instead. I had 250 wishes ready because I skipped everybody and their mother in Natlan (except Xilonen and Mavuika) and I was mostly saving for Wrio and Emilie. At 30 wishes, I got Polar Star and I was like "Yay, that's it" but then I got greedy and thought "Well, I can guarantee Jade Cutter anyway, let's hope I get another early", 77 wishes in, I did see Jade on my screen but it was Jadefall Splendor ijbol. I know people hate on this weapon but I didn't mind it as much because I like this weapon and it's R4 now. What WAS painful though was how it took another 74 wishes to get Jadefall and I got ZERO Gaming cons but somehow Yun Jin and Xinyan decided to come home back to back THRICE. In conclusion, I love Chronicled Wish as a concept and I benefit greatly from it but it certainly does hurt that soft pity starts at 75 instead of 65.

Tartaglia does have good use cases with Ororon electro charge teams. I don't know how it compared to Childe-National but I am aware of a Tart/Ororon team floating around, where instead of being an enabler for Xiangling he's an enabler for various electro units.

As a Ganyu main, I am very happy with how Mavuika performs in her melt team. Mavuika's ability to hold the cinder city set and the fact that her pyro application isn't tied to her burst has skyrocketed Ganyu's damage. Since cinder city's buff lasts through her rotation, if you have enough ER on Benny, then you have close to 100% uptime on all buffs. My Ganyu can now consistently do 150k charged shot blooms in the overworld. It's really incredible!

An important aspect that you didn't mention is that this Chronicled Wish has only Liyue 4* characters on it. (excl. Lan Yan bc she's new) So for players like me who don't have many of them at c6, the odds of getting extra copies of specific characters are significantly higher than normal (1/10 vs. 1/40), and even more so, since none of them are being "promoted", there are equal odds to pull any one of them. I only have 3 of the 7 5* characters, so I'm not expecting too much, but worst case scenario: I'm likely to get a character I don't have yet & I'll have decent pity for Redhorn when an Inazuma Chronicled wish rolls around... :p Currently at ~130 wishes; I've lost to Qiqi every time I've tried to pull for Tartaglia so far, so if I lose 50/50 to her again, it's simply fate... -u-)"b

I used Burnmelt Ganyu to deal with Suanni in the Abyss this season. Nahida, Bennett, Xinyan, Ganyu. Xinyan's c2 makes her burst have a shield pulse with pyro, so it helps keep burning alive and lets her hold Totm. I also still like using Burnmelt Ganyu whenever there are annoying flying bosses like Wenut and Wolflord (shielder slot has to adjust depending on the boss).

Yeah, I like Xinyan's shield utility, but her shield is one of the thinner ones and you lose the Pyro application if the shield breaks, so you do have to invest in the skill a good amount for it to be useful. Also, Xinyan's burst has a shorter cooldown than her skill, meaning if you want tight rotations, you can't rely on Xinyan's skill to generate energy (Xinyan burst has the same 15 second cooldown as Bennett burst, so this is why she's my favorite shielder for Burnmelt and why I skip her skill unless I need emergency energy). I run Fav Greatsword on Xinyan to help get around this, and Xinyan has a 100% crit rate on her burst, so you don't need any crit rate on artifacts for Fav and can focus on stacking Defense only.

Tip for potential Childe wanters: Just do what his story quest says and count to 10 when in melee stance. That's the rule of thumb. Sometimes you can use visual indicators outside of himself (Xiangling's burst before C4, 3 seconds left from his ranged burst cooldown, Layla's shield, etc) that can keep you on time. Edit cuz I forgot to talk about the fact I fucking finally got Polar Star. I've been waiting for a long time. Super happy.

Lost 50/50 early to ganyu while going for xiao, the used everything to then get xiao so I have no pulls for cheve cons. Still i see this as an absolute win. Now I have a good reason for exploring the rest of the map as only the 1.0 areas, dragonspine and the chasm are 100% everything else is between 0% and 20%

This is just like how my friend tried to convince me to pull for Kokomi when I'd rather just wait and get the Hydro archon. I said no. Got Furina later. Better investment for the account.

Last year I was a very new player when I pulled on this banner. I lost my 50/50 at 76 pulls and then didn't pull again on it. However, if I were to pull again this year (I'm not) but lost the 50/50 again, since the fate point doesn't carry over, it's possible to never win this banner if you pull on it (once to pity) each year. Which is why I won't ever pull on this banner again. The fate not carrying over kills this banner; it's simply a primogem sink.

it's the same on the weapon banner. Fate points are there to stress us about losing the guarantee when the banner ends. They could have had them stay and let us choose a weapon to guarantee the next time but that would help us save money. You can always guarantee a 5 star by saving enough. If you have characters or weapons you want I think it's better to stock up on wishes for when they come back.

It's so you can guarantee to grab them because we only got the standard selector this last year. There were launch players that never got their Jean until the last Chronicled Wish. And since they're expanding the standard pool, that means you might want the selector for each new addition instead.

For the Inazuma Chronicled we're likely getting the second half of next patch, Mizuki (who is new and will be on a limited banner during the first half) will be the only standard character there, which will make the Inazuma Chronicled the highest value yet.

they got rid of the minimum re-runs needed rule, so it's technically very slightly better than it was. Otherwise it wouldn't have had Shenhe and they'd have had to run Yelan as she was the only other liyue character that met the requirements.

I genuinely think they should run one every patch. In the long-term I think it will help more consistent rerunning and easier saving for f2p players than a lot of people think. I think too many players are focussing on "getting them all" on one singular banner. But with more consistent reruns, it allows players to pick and choose rather than having to guess who will be thrown in Hoyo's dungeon. But it definitely needs some optimising.

I generally agree chronicle wish is a bad deal that got worse. But minor oversight on the weapon, the limited banner you only have 37.5% chance to get your selected weapon (75% on banner wep vs 25% standard, then if 75% limited hit, then 50/50 which one). Chronicle is a 50% chance. This basically makes it break even on average when I ran it through wish simulation. But it should not really break even imo it should be cheaper.

I pulled BOTH shenhe and xiao on the banner, in one ten pull. But it was not enough to stop me from quitting Genshin. I did not login for quite a while, and the disparity with wuwa is now obvious to me. I constantly try to heal near teleport station, to change a character while gliding, etc etc etc and not having the ability to do it irks me too much.

chronicled wish probably isn't something i'd recommend pulling on unless you have enough to guarantee what you want, but if you do it's definitely an amazing thing to have in the game. i've been saving since before 5.0 for the liyue one and it was soooo worth it. got baizhu (his C2, i've had his C1 for a while), his weapon, jade cutter AND polar star (didn't get that one intentionally, lost my 50/50 to it but i'm not complaining). most took me to 80 pulls but i'm happy nonetheless :3 one thing i will say though is that even after nearly 300 pulls i didn't get a single lithic weapon or yaoyao and gaming cons 😭😭i was hoping to get some but i guess that's where my luck ran out

As a veteran player, I'm actually happy with this Chronicled banner. Natlan chars aren't as hyped for a lot of people, and so I rather roll for chars I haven't used before in the past. I like the Liyue designs for the most part so losing 50/50 on anyone would be a win for me (except Keqing cuz I already have her). No matter how amazing the Natlan character kits may be, I just don't like their designs and can't justify me spending resources to pull for numbers.

I pulled Eula precisely at 75 pity at previous chronicle banner because I started around 4.3 and really wanted her before even playing the game, and never again will I do such thing! I was incredible lucky I managed to get the characters I wanted but I know I dodge a massive death flag, it left a sour taste on my mouth each time I think things could goes the other way. Despite I want both Yoimiya or Kokomi and knew they'll be in the Inazuma banner turn, I still wouldn't risk it. Either lower it to hard guarantee at 100 or make it carries over the next banner, preferably both.

I feel like there is going to be an issue with 4 stars. The next one would be Inazuma and I'm sure they'd want to include Itto. But since Gorou is pretty much locked to Itto, its going to be much harder to get to his C6 on Chronicled. Not to mention Faruzan not being on Xiao's banner, but at least she can run with Xianyun and Wanderer. Chronicled wish is just so ill conceived, i wish they would have just gone with 3 banners or something similar to what theyre doing with Star Rail.

I used to main Ganyu, but I just don't know where to slot her in these days so I would love to see a video on her! I have tried using her as a instructor support for Mavuika together with Citlali which was pretty fun, otherwise I just run her in freeze teams with Furina, but its mostly just Furina carrying. I could never really get melt Ganyu to work with Xiangling because of the awkward timings of swirl and the fact that I don't have a good shield and you have to stand right next to the enemy to apply pyro...

I personally think the banner the is aomewhat worthwhile, especially as a f2p if you want more than one character from that banner, since you can lose it to another character that isnt just a standard character. I know you can still get keqing and qiqi but but its still better slightly better because there's a small chance it isnt gonna be qiqi or keqing. I do wish that they either lower the pity or just make it so the fate points carry over, because of the recent changes to the weapon and character banner definitely made it worth less than it used to. Also there should be a consistent schedule to the chronicle wish since it's a bit hard to prepare dor a character when you don't know when its coming back. I would like to add that it would be great if we could trigger capturing radience in the chronicle wish.

Last time I took a gamble to see if I get it early because I wanted Dehya's weapon so I used 40 wishes on it and stopped. Now I need 40 less wishes to reach pity but I only care for Shenhe and don't mind losing to Baizhu I know I won't use the rest (Honestly I have no use for Shenhe too, because no current cryo DPS appeals to me) It's a gamble guessing she works with the Cryo archon well because she won't come back until then. It's probably better for me to wait for Furina because I don't have her and she works with the characters I like. I feel like Shenhe isn't in a good spot with no reruns and few characters she works well with.

While I've wanted Shenhe for my Ayaka freeze team for a long time, it works well enough with Rosaria or Layla in the cryo support slot & is even better since swapping Kazu for Xilonen so it's no longer a need. Also my account is overdue a visit from Arlecchino & I have a guarantee so priority goes to Father & possibly C1 if I can win the 50/50 after the initial pulls.
