Jaguar is already one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peel. Without something significant changing they will cease to exist. This is nothing like Bud Light. Bud Light is still 1000 times more successful than Jaguar, and that's being kind. Jaguar needed some buzz, and they got it. It doesn't really matter what the average person thinks about how they did it. It only matters how their prospective new customer base feels about it. I can pretty much guarantee that few, if any, of those people care about Bud Light in any way. We're talking about the kind of people who would be interested in a extremely expensive vanity EV. What 99% of the population thinks about this marketing is irrelevant. Of course it's possible that the people Jaguar is trying to market to, won't like it any more than you do. I'm not one of them, so I can't really say.

The designers at Jaguar have clearly never sat in the current-Gen. Chevy Camaro. With its high belt line and gun slits for windows, it's like sitting in a claustrophobic-inducing coffin on wheels. You're one really bad accident away from being encased in that thing. These hideous-looking cars have that same vibe...
@Floorguy1000Ай бұрын
Jaguar had to do something that's for sure. Lots of people love the brand, but not enough were actually buying the cars. The concept is a bold car with presence imo... and as we know, the actual production car will be in this general style, but probably significantly different. It even occurred to me that maybe Jaguar would have a follow up campaign where this new aggressive car drives by and blows away the oddball teletubbies in a ballsy " We were just kidding" moment. I think if it was preceded by a better campaign, more people would have been open to liking this car.... it is a powerful car with presence. I'm sure that a proper leaper and growler will be offered as option, that's what I would put on the car. A 1,000 hp car deserves a growler in front! Hopefully too they offer a cool two door GT. I am certainly rooting for them. All of this does make me appreciate my beautiful XK 5.0, as it's now a part of Jag history. It's funny as the lead up campaign was hardly pointing to a powerful, stunning and brutal car. When I first saw the rebranding video I thought, "Well, Bond villains won't be driving Jags anymore" ..... but a Bond villain would definitely drive this, although in blue or black not the pink. Imo, the teletubbies would never drive this car.

Its no surprise that Jag did their big unveil at Miami Fashion Week. Thats not the Bud light crowd, they dont go to Miami Fashion Week. Also, Jaguar has only 0.07% of the total US car market share, for new car sales in 2024. Its time for Jag to take some risks and get noticed.

I totally agree with what Roman was getting at, if they could bring the car bodies back to the 30s in the 40s, when they were absolutely majestic, put modern drivetrains in them have some electric versions. Have some hybrid versions and have some normal gasoline. Powered versions They would definitely be able to sell it to a wider market. It is interesting that they are making it fully electric, but I think even rich people would like a gasoline engine and something with a little bit of feeling when you drive it.

1) The concept car is actually nice! I would love to see it in Black-gold or White-gold colors... 2) The rebranding was completely unnecessary. A brand refreshing would do the job better. 3) The major problem was the disastrous DEI campaign... which doesn't feels luxury, original or desirable. The timing and the lacking of focus on the car created a huge buzz... I think that Jaguar can save itself DESPITE their wrong decisions... only because the car has potential to be an object of desire for a more exclusive market
