I’m quite enjoying quarantine to be honest. And yeah there’s also the issue of how we’re supposed to manage to re-integrate back into society after all these (well it’s not been that many, but still) months of not going out of our homes
@Simon-xl1yz4 жыл бұрын
Nope, their "strategy" is basically recommending people with symptoms and people in high risk groups to stay home. However, quite few follow these recommendations, I had symptoms for a while, I stayed home, and am now heavily regretting it. Since it was pretty much impossible for me to do work home, (schools haven't implemented ways to work at home or participate in class since they don't _need to_ )I have to do weeks of assignments and tests in the next few days (and have been for the past week or two), or it will affect my entire future getting into good schools... so that's "fun," I've never had such a heavy and stressful workload, ever. Staying home is also kinda frowned upon, for some reason, at least in my age group??? When explaining our strategy to the public they explain it like everyone follow these non-mandatory recommendations, but in reality, they're wrong. Comparing our numbers with neighbouring countries makes this plainfully obvious.

I can understand in areas where the virus isnt community spread. We are opening everything back up in Australia, stage by stage. But we don't have as many infections. I think it's been 4 days and not one infection reported. But that's only a miniscule when you think that people don't show signs for 5 days in and are infectious for two weeks (or even more. They had one case two months later where someone was infected). But we are re-opening because it is safer to do so. As long as we continue social distancing, washing hands and so on, should be ok. But I don't hold much hope for us to continue doing so. But in America it's still so rapid with infections and deaths. How can they reopen stuff.

I had a male customer berate a woman in front of him for not pulling the top of her mask up all the way. Her glasses were fogging up, and she had subconscious pulled the mask down a bit when she was trying to read the menu. So the guy pointed it out, okay, but this guy was the only one without a mask, or gloves, or any sort of protective gear. He kept talking about the woman's masm to the point where the woman (who had pulled up her mask right after he pointed it out) asked him why he wasn't wearing one. His response was that he didn't need one because he already had Covid-19 three weeks ago and was just fine. The lady and I responded with "That's not how this works" at the exact same time, with pretty much the exact same baffled expression. He had this creepy, satisfied smirk on his face from beginning to end...like, he was clearly quite pleased with himself for whatever reason. Total weirdo.

But even then I would have told them not to come until infection rates started going down. Now they are down to pretty much no infections in the past 4 days and they will be able to come and visit soon. But it's all good. We have trials in Brisbane and Melbourne where they are positive the vaccine will work well, mostly coz it follows the same way the flu vaccine works. I am just sitting here in Western Australia just scratching my head at the rest of the world. We have had only one community transmitted case of covid in over two months, and it was a worker looking after quarantined travellers in a hotel, and yet we still have social distancing rules and hand washing stations etc. sure people are getting a little lax with it all, but we don’t have any cases. The fact people are getting lax with it while it is just spreading like wildfire baffles me. The minuscule amount of faith I had in society is fading fast.

The non-profit National Public Radio (NPR) reported that the centre registered 30 cases in an 18-hour period ending at 3pm last Friday, as opposed to only 13 cases for the same timeframe a year ago. Nine of the cases were related to exposure to Lysol, 10 were "specifically about bleach" and 11 were exposures to other household cleaners, the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene spokesman Pedro Frisneda told NPR.”

Here in Georgia,still only Telemed by video on my phone. Georgia opened a few weeks ago, there have been virtually no new cases,and the US Surgeon General released their statement that wearing masks not only doesn't prevent you from I having bacteria and viruses----- +**( the nasopharynx is specifically designed for the purpose of filtering and trapping pathogens via nose hairs and microscopic cilia hairs ,then increasing mucous production in order to flush and expel them back out through the nostrils)----+-but traps bacteria&viruses that were expelled through your nasopharyx;and makes you inhale them AGAIN...along with the additional ones contained in the air of your next --breath.So-- that next breath will contain a higher percentage of bacteria and viruses----- that your nasopharyx has to get rid of. Also,when viruses and bacteria travel further inside the nasopharynx,they come in contact with adenoid and laryngial tonsils which are part of your immune system.The tonsils "sample" the various inhaled pathogens ,and communicate to the rest of the immune system in order to initiate the various immune responses including the creation of antibodies specific to the pathogen that is detected. If your immune system is exposed to an overwhelming quantity of the pathogen,before it has a chance to produce antibodies against it; it is detrimental to its ability to protect itself)----- It increases your chances of getting sick. Also, your body is expelling carbon dioxide as a waste product,and a mask inhibits it's ability to do it as effectively,so the air concentratuon of your next breath will have a decreased concentration of oxygen and will include more CO2 than it would,had the mask not prevented it from being properly dispersed in the surrounding air. It may be a negligible amount, but our physiology is fine tuned to the natural environment, and wasn't designed to have prolonged contact with expelled bacteria a d viruses trapped against the opening of our nostrils,nor is it designed to have a restricted outflow of the expelled CO2 waste product. kellybroganmd.com/why-we-stay-asleep-when-covid-19-is-trying-to-wake-us-up/

@@lizzieball3795 Funny then that mask wearing is wide spread in East Asia, even pre-Corona, and folks don't suffer from CO2 'poisoning'. Medical staff have worn masks regularly forever. Surgeons operate for hours wearing masks. Do I need to go on? The reason simply being that the masks don't impeded the gas exchange. They just hold back particles above a given size (depending on class of mask). Wearing a mask is not to protect you, the wearer, but everyone else from you, the potential spreader. Ohh, and don't come with the old "but I'm healthy"-adage. People become infectious days before displaying any symptoms. That is if you are not happen to be an asymptomatic carrier in the first place.
