Is the Sony A7IV a BAD CAMERA?

One thing to add: though yes, the A7IV only has 1080p 120, which seems at first identical to the A7III on paper, the 1080 p 120 on the A7IV is significantly sharper and less compressed than A7III footage. When using S&Q, you can get 1080p 120 10 bit 4:2:2 as well.

What I hate the most is the RAW photo file not supported by Apple. That’s death for Mac and IPad user like me. I also dislike flip screen, being a photo shooter, I prefer being able to align with the object. Well, that’s probably my personal preference.

Wow I didn't know that RAW files aren't supported by Apple yet, but I'm sure that they are working on that. They can't alienate a huge percentage of their users like that.

Great review. I think people really expect a lot from every new camera that is released. Most features they don't even need . So many amazing capable cameras . Most people that want these features won't even know how to use them.

All of the points are video related, and this is a hybrid camera - of course it's not gonna be perfect. This is why Sony has different lines of models depending on your needs. You can't expect to have it all with 0 issues for this price range.

You are right, I am definitely video biased haha as most of my work is video related, but things like rolling shutter and dual card slots can definitely affect your photography workflow as well. But overall I do think that this camera is a great compromise for a hybrid camera.

The problem is they gimped the hell out of it to encourage you to pay double for the higher models while increasing the price by 25%. That's pretty fked.

I don't think they are doing it to reduce the camera's lifespan, people are still using cameras like the original a7s so many years after its release and they seem to be working just fine. I think it's because Sony likes to give their users as much customization as possible (which sometimes leads to horrible menus haha.) I think the standard setting is the safe setting for people who want a "comfortable" experience using their camera because in standard the camera will turn off even if it starts to heat up a little bit. The high setting is the "workhorse" setting for people who want to maximize their camera's potential and are okay with it getting a little warm to the touch. It's kind of like overclocking your PC. That's my analogy at least. Hope it helps.

Honestly....any camera over 2000 should be able to shoot some form of RAW even if it's externally. And I really wish they would release a firmware update to alalow 4k60 full frame. even if it's gimped or 8 bit or line skipped or something.
