The pogoing guy reminded me of something: they can drop the lizard greatsword. As a greasword it has basically the same damage, scaling and moveset of the claymore, except for the overhand swing for rolling attack. However, the R2, both charged and uncharged, shoots a projectile, which seems like it would make for a nice little range extension of that beloved poke.

The ash of war will heal even if a player dodges through it, plus it has a really large area of effect that adds a lot of pressure in team fights.

Does massive damage (and used to deal insane knock back) while healing you with the L2. It even heals on phantom hits. Is a greatsword so benefits from hyperarmor trades with regular attacks. In a gank squad you can easily force the invader to dodge while your teammates go for roll catches. Never underestimate how devistating the L2 can be when you're distracted. It can also be badly desynced on sketchier connections (like wave of piss) causing you to take immense damage even if it looks like you rolled it on your screen. As an invader, you can pull it out of your inventory at just the right time in a narrow corridor or on ledges to great effect. Not something I use often but it's definitely terrifying when facing a squad and someone is throwing out those L2s. Even more scary when they know how to prediction free aim.

I’ve been having a blast with that weapon. I believe the r1 combos after both the charged and uncharged ash. At least people struggle to dodge it if nothing else. I had no clue the heavy combos after the uncharged tho. That’s gonna be fun!

Whilst the combo r2 is somewhat connection dependant, the combo r1 seems to always connect if there's bad latency

The shield of night is able to mirror and fire projectiles back at your opponent, and the claws of night are insane as well

Y’all I just realized we could play prop hunt in Elden Ring, albeit it wouldn’t work as well as an actual prop hunt game. But hey, modding exists.

It could be done without mods. Make sure the props have no armor, no weapon, and very low vigor, and give the hunter a weapon that can guaranteed one-shot the props. Maybe something like a great bow or cannon for limited guesses.

The 'Claws of Night' on a 70dex build can do running r1->r1 then follow up the enemies panic roll (bc they just ate 1.5k dmg with a bleed procc) with the L2 throw has gotten me countless kills in the past few days. You should give it a try.

It also has some really high focus, good for fighting Vs sleep spread crossbows since it requires 2 shots(consuming 20 bolts in total) to proc sleep. Throw on a +2 focus horn charm, now it takes 3 shots

This is the goat katana, I hated it when I first got it, because I was set on full charging the ash and would get smacked. But once I got used to timing the release and using the openings I freaking love it. It takes skill to make it great, unlike OG rivers and moonveil. Only complaint is it’s short range but not everything can be a masamune

Everyone’s focus seems to be on the weapons the dlc added, and I am definitely enjoying and looking forward to using some of them. But omg, the armors… The dark fantasy knight look was lacking in the base game, but the dlc added some absolutely sick looking pieces and outfits. It’s like McDonald’s in this bitch, cause I’m loving it

it’s true combo with uncharged r2 will miss on 200+ ping i believe not sure entirely or if the other player is out of range and is hit by the ash at its max range it will also miss in that case but r1 will still true combo if the r2 is not possible

So far I have oneshot everyone I have hit with bayles flame lightning. It's more reliable than chomp or dragon slap imo as well, it's hard to get knocked out of it and a lot of people trade. But it is very slow and very hard to hit with. Surprisingly the recovery animation isn't awful either. You certainly can get hit but it's never terribly bad.

Its one of the best dex weapons in the game for sure. Scales better then malenias, highest ar of any pure dex katana, ash is easy to use in bosses and applys bleed. Its the frayed blade.
