I’ve written my BA on the IE warrior, and including the Wild Hunt, as well as including it in my MA again in 2020. Rudra and his Maruts are very interesting, and thus some parallel traditions in Iran. I’m a historical linguist, so I compared the aspects of both myths and language. I’m glad you are taking this up!

I actually find it funny how people will get out of their way to undermine anything that goes in accordance with paganism. Hell, some people will even say that greek philosophers like plato and aristotle weren't pagan, it shouldn't surprise us too much that they would try to understate the pre-christian origins of folk traditions, it's honestly hilarious. Anyway, love your videos, keep up the great work!

This overview while zooming in close that bridges older scholarship with newer is a big part of why I deeply enjoy reading the works of Lecouteux. His book on the Wild Hunt is excellent and examines both pre- and post-Christian legends, myths, and experiences of The Wild Hunt. Damned good book, and I deeply enjoyed the video here for similar reasons.

I remember hearing ''Når Juen haj kaller, a dæj kålt da uwe.'' Meaning ''When Juen calls, it's cold out there.'' I have also been curious about the ''continuation'' of older pre-christian believes, and i have found that in Jutland, Odin has many names like ''Uen, Juen, Joen, Oen, Huen, Howen, and Wojen'' and so on.

I have see animals fighting all day long in the sky lately. (Southern hemisphere.) Cloud shapes in the day. Dragons, unicorns, deer, animals of all descriptions, leaping and fighting, ghostly cartoonish people. I think they are energised by the sun because they fade after sunset. Of course, this is open to accusations if subjectivity, pattern seeking and what have you. I have been wondering if this might fit some frame of reference and the wild hunt is the best fit I’ve found at this time. I believe these are spirits at play and that they could be called upon, though I would not, as they seem unstable often violent and ghoulish (in the case of the people). One of my questions is whether this is a sign or portent heralding some event or time period. The idea that it is connected with Yule is also interesting as that event is approaching, though it is not dark this time of year.

I find it rather sad that not the search for truth or true origin is the center of scolarship but the justuification for ones opinion or prejustice.That isn´t scolarship,that is populism.

It's not only scholars that have lack of knowledge. There's plenty of books about nordic heathenry written by people that have no clue about the topic. They have taken other religions rituals, holidays, world view etc and put it into nordic heathenry. A lot of these are popular authours within the nordic heathenry. People read this books and believes it's historical correct information. And when someone writes critical about these authors people defends these authors and screams "gatekeeper" and other stupid things...
