Adam and Eve attempted to create their own covering using fig leaves. But God showed them that a life was required to cover their sin. It was the first sacrifice performed (when giving them clothes) portraying from that moment what was going to be required from them until the Perfect atonement would come. Abel had the revelation that what was required was a life. Cain once again used leaves and fruits as an atonement. And was rejected. The fig leaf is a type of religion, a man made attempt to make a covering under his own righteousness, but the only Thing God will accept is the Blood and Life of Jesuschrist, our atonement, applied in each one of us.

I remember reading this about 30 years ago. I remember praying & asking God to expound scripture to me. Then I saw this. I asked myself; Why did God do that. The fig leaves were temporary. They would fall off.. etc. Like our own righteousness. Only a Temporary covering. God was saying that won't do. Here's a more permanent one.(It would have had to have blood) Until I give you the real thing. Grace Covers a multitude of sins. Also God asking Adam where are you? Didn't God know? Ofcourse He did. Who told you you were naked? Not me Adam. It's the devil. God doesn't condemn us. He is was & always will be our Saviour. Probably had the skin covering ready when He came. It was a great illumination of the word. But as time goes we get smarter & don't ask the Holy Spirit to teach us. Oh. How I miss those times. Shalom

I find it weird he said that because it truly is wrong. The whole point was atonement meaning covering was all that could be done to preserve man till the Word was made incarnate and could complete the work of the cross. The blood of Christ is sufficient it does NOT atone, it cleanses it is not covering it's cleansing that means the sin is gone. This is prophesied in the bible in the old testament no less. Blood of Jesus in a fountain in heaven. Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. Zechariah 13:1 is clearly talking about a sacrifice provided by/of God. Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

As John observes, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us" (I John 1:8-10). This is why we need a Savior who paid the ransom for our sin and that is what Jesus did on the Cross. The ransom was paid to God as the price for our sins. The passages that you provide point to this redemption paid by Jesus on the Cross. Paul writes in Galatians 1:3,4 "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father...." So, as we live here on earth and go through the process of sanctification (which we never fully realize here), we still fall into sin, but God continues to view us a perfected in his Grace and by the blood of Jesus covering our sins. He is aware of our sins and will correct us, but he does not hold those sins against us as he does those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior.

It is true, that is why God did not accept Cain's offering, because it was his work, and God does not accept salvation by works but by faith, through the shedding of blood, as Abel did (as his parents taught them), that is why he says in Genesis 4.7 "If you offer correctly, would you not be accepted? Behold, the sin offering is still at the door, longing for you, and you can benefit from it".

How can one rule over sin? If in John 8.34 it says "Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.", the bible does not contradict itself, the problem is the bad translation of Genesis 4:7, the word חַטָּאת חַטָּאת (ḥǎṭ∙ṭā(ʾ)ṯ) should be translated as "sin offering" and not as "sin".

I ask though, because I believe God really emphasized that both male and female are called Adam - not just the male - both male and female are the "prototype" Adam. Gen 1:26 says let Us make Adam according to Our image and likeness then God proceeds to say that He created THEM male and female, and then in Genesis 5:2 God says He named THEM Adam, not just the male, but the female also. And maybe that is why the death of the female isn't anywhere to be found because it wasn't necessary to specifically address it, because it already was addressed in the death of Adam i.e male and female. Not saying I am right, just that it makes sense according to the context of the making of Adam(male AND female)🙏

BE YE WISE AS SERPENTS?? In Gen.. 2:17 God states that if Adam or Eve eat of the tree they will surely die that day. THEY DID NOT DIE. In Gen. 3:1 the serpent seems to know what God had said, which is verified by Eve's answer in verses 3:2-3. Also, why is Satan walking in Job 1:6?? Because of this... Also immediately after the LORD God pronounced his judgment and curse after the Promised Seed, Adam named his wife Eve meaning the mother of all living.. He continued in his delegated authority from God after naming the animals. This was right before the LORD god made tunics of skin to cover them. We know little of Adam and Eve. No repentance is indicated. Of course, the Bible teaches that God elected a people for Himself (Ephesians 1). If Adam and Eve were of God's elect, then they would have been saved. Human effort or desire plays no impact, nor can it (Romans 9:15-16, 8:8).

Hebrews 11:3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Election is distorted by Calvinism to personal superiority and in some cases a licence to sin. In the OT the election of israel had the ultimate goal to bless nations, and be faithful to a covenant. In the NT it is the same goal, election aka first fruits are in a corporate covenant *in Christ* to bless all nations Revelation chapters 20, 21, 22 Calvinism have no idea they have this obligation, it's all a personal ego trip ! Ask a Calvinist when is he/she going to bless nations as described in revelation 20/21/22 and how ar nations saved by them and they chock !
