I have had a couple of months of play with this controller and the review is in. Been wanting to make this video since I unboxed it so check it out!

To me the Elite 2 isn't about being better at games but all about comfort. The surface of the controller feels soooo smooth and and i love the weight and love the shape although it could be larger in size.

You know what's messed up? I agree 100% which is why I got a custom colored one, and none of the premium parts here were used. The surface is plastic, flimsy and cheap, Xbox button is cheap and plastic like base controllers, bumpers are plastic and not chrome. Feels lighter, such a rip off. They certainly didn't market it that way, but the same cheap plastic feels from the base is exactly what a custom feels like

@@LonghornsLegend I have a custom colored blue one and i don't have any complaints about the materials. I acrually prefer the custom one because it doesn't get that ultra dirty look at all that the og black one does, like it's been touched by a thousand dirty hands after a few game sessions even though i've had really clean hands.

@@epicon6 so the plastic Xbox button or plastic inside the thumbsticks doesn't bother u even though you paid for the premium quality parts from this controller? I guess it's all preferences but I've never had this happen where you order the same product but it's made far cheaper. The smooth surface you like so much on this one is completely gone as well, sure it may wipe up easier but you can't debate that it's plastic and cheaper from the feel and look

Got mine with my series x around Christmas 2020 and had no issues regarding the rb bumpers it’s amazing controller also I heavily game Fortnite with the paddles and cod war zone too I don’t understand how people go through multiple of these with the buttons breaking must not be looking after their stuff lol nice vid btw new sub ❤

I have two and both start joystick issues and one of the the RB button also habe issues in less than 6 months. Now I'm using a Victrix Pro controller. Awesome controller

05:38 the longer stick is actually quite nice for shooters. because of the longer stick you will have much more accuracy at aiming. it´s a thing you have to get used to, but trust me, it will work out in the end.

Great review! I've been watching reviews for this controller for a while now lol, can't make up my mind because of the pricing.. I do game enough to get my moneys worth but bruh.. something about paying that much for a controller feels wrong 😂

Best advice and best use for the back paddles is to remove the curved paddles (unless you want to map them to something of course) and map left stick click and right stick click to the straight paddles. You can propably avoid stick drift happening if you do so, unless it does that out of the box but then the warranty takes care of you. have owned 2 elite v1 controllers and i have 2 Series 2 Elites. And i only got stick drift on my first V1 and after i got that replaced through warranty i mapped the clicks to the paddles and haven't had any drifting on any of my other elites in the 3000+ hours i've used them

This is gold and a really good advice, another thing that everybody can do and it can help with that RB/LT issue is change the contact paper protection inside of the controller for an aluminium paper one, because the ones with the controller are weak and cheap and literally didnt make contact. There is a video of a spanish youtuber doing it and is really really easy

My Elite has a good few thousand hours on it now, no stick drift, but then I’m not surprised. It’s not an issue I ever have, I’ve had so many faulty pads across the decades I’ve been gaming, including a few Elites but I’ve never had a single occurrence of drift stick.

@@wicho99w99 I now have a 3rd v2 and on one controller i had an issue with RB where it would only trigger like 8/10 times which was a real pain because i use RB for punching in Halo.. but one day the issue was gone and never game back.

even though i have had 6 of these over a span of 5 years, i would still buy another. this was the first premium controller i bought and when i tried other controllers they failed in comparison. for my game style , all other controllers felt cheap, light, and too sensitive. paddles on other controllers were to easily pressed making my grip awkward and causing me to inadvertently press them by accident, causing me to loose a lot pvp battles. im not the best pvp player so any and everything can affect my game play.

Best controller ever made. I have both the series 1 and 2. Got drift in the series 2, ordered a new one and eventually fixed the first one after watching some KZbin. The only thing i would complain about is the thumbsticks not being interchangeable between series 1 and 2, the back paddles are and actually prefer the series 1 paddles on the series 2 controller. Other than that, its the best controller to exist (yet).

I’ve got a few Elite models, including a Design Lab Elite. I only use the Elite for fps games, otherwise I’ll use my Forza special edition, it’s nice and light and has a nice racing grip.

If you play PC games that have a lot of key binds, you need reWASD app which allows you to map buttons to keyboard and mouse. You can also set buttons and/or paddles as shift buttons which gives you a whole new virtual controller. The combo of elite 2 and reWASD has increased the number of games I use controller over mouse and keyboard, although a good mouse is still better if you want to aim at anything.

i would love to have a elite controller.. what i would use the paddles for would be for the more harder buttons say for a direction of a D-pad but mostly for say L3 and R3 having to press the joystick down while doing a movement is H-E- Double Hockey Sticks

Its a great controller but tbh itll last you 3-6 months warranty sucks too. For me it was mainly the RB little drift stick and the grip rubber being lose. Get a razer wolverine ultimate or a scuf controller for that price

As someone's who's aged from being a super sweaty young competitive playing claw to now being 34 this controller helps me alot, I made the switch 3yrs ago won't look back, iv gone threw 3 so far with my first one the trigger buttons hair settings on the back randomly came off assuming it wasent glued well, kinda wish I never took it back to swap with warranty as my 2nd unit was dead out the box with the left stick wouldn't click in at all, swapped again for my 3rd which last a full year before the RB went an then LB, bought a new one an it lasted 6months before bumpers went but I bought off a friend who used it only for a week so no warranty so I fixed it myself, recently bought the new core model, sadly it has huge stick wobble but ima keep it till it dies an warranty it, regardless of the build quality wish it was better, I just can't use a regular controller anymore.

Ya maybe there is a reason they offer such a good warranty. But also my friend has had the same one for years now and only had minor stick drift. So QA definitely needs work on there part. Really wanna try scuf to do a side by side long term review and see the difference.

The series X controller and triggers feel more comfortable. I have E2 and I like it but I don’t love it. Maybe I need more time with it.

The drift problem is of concern. I have had 2 Elite 2 controllers replaced. It is an internal design problem that also Playstation and Nintendo contend with. Hopefully they will find a way to fix it. Maybe using better parts would be a solution? Otherwise it is a great controller.

There's controllers now with hall effect joysticks. Essentially prevents it from drifting. Gulikit for example makes some.

I only play Fortnite, so I don't get why I keep getting the same issue. Hopefully, that all changes if they release a 3rd gen controller in 2023.

The elite v2 has a flaw with the Right bumper double tapping when pressing. I’ve had 7 of them and eventually they all do it. I think it something to do with using the trigger stops.

Just returned 3 in 6 days this past week. All 3 had the A button skipping every few presses. Very disappointing. Unless you press it right in the center very firm there’s a good chance it won’t register

I looked online and there was nothing but complaints about the A and Y buttons missing inputs. I dont have time to keep replacing them so maybe if they make an updated version I might try one of these again.

Mine came with my Xbox X and the left bumper is now useless.Shames as its feels like quality. I have gone back to a wired controller from Power A. Not sure how this will go but its £50, sounds too cheap but here's hoping!

I have an elite two am for some reason I just prefer the standard controller it’s the feel and shape on the series s and x controller that feels so comfortable the shape on the elite just feels more flat an the thumb sticks feel weird feel I have less control some how

I purchased one in November and have had to send it back twice for repair including a replacement. I have had bad luck I guess and the Microsoft customer service experience has been poor. The features are good but overall wouldn't recommend.

PSA for anyone who wants to order a custom elite series 2 with a color, those custom ones are made with cheap low end parts and not the same premium parts the black elite series has. If you care about quality and build don't make the same mistake as me. Plastic shell that's light, plastic inside of thumbsticks, plastic flimsy Xbox button, it feels and holds like a knock off.

Pdp makes back button controllers for cheap xbox Sony and Nintendo need to make back buttons the standard and it doesn't even cost alot if they add to the boxed console....and Sony are idiots for not making a dualsense back button attachment lake the dualshock attachment at the launch of the ps5.
