I have the opposite view. That being a pilot, one would be less afraid as a passanger on a small plane. Veering off course for a couple of minutes is really not much of an issue. I'm only surprised about the lack of pilot's headset. Could he have had another pod in his left ear that he could hear radio communications through? This flight reminded me of that, but in an airplane. But, vehicles aside, I never had trouble in Tijuana in all the years and times (dozens and dozens) I had been. The one thing I'll say in his defense is that I don't know what the rules are in Mexico or that airline's op specs and I suppose it's possible that the flights you took were actually VFR, meaning his course and altitudes might not have mattered that much outside of maintaining terrain clearance and traffic separation. But using his phone while hand flying, filling out paperwork, no hands on the controls as he's on his takeoff roll, I mean lots of stuff looked pretty crazy to me. Thank you for the video and providing us with these excellent content as always. The pilot should be reported and investigated I think. I don't think he should be sacked but extra training needs to be done, particularly in awareness. Someone should monitor him on a regular basis. That is what I would do. Nice video :).

Thank you! Yes I agree I felt kind of bad being so negative, and as a pilot myself I wouldn't wish this guy to suffer but it's clear his priorities were elsewhere that day and some monitoring/training would definitely not go amiss.
@JimboPC3 жыл бұрын
@@noelphilips Hi Noel. Being negative is a good thing as you pick out the faults, The trouble is if you don't report it then there maybe consequences I guess? I think training all countries needs to be looked at, especially if you haven't flow for a while. :)

@@noelphilips you can't use your phone whilst driving so surely the same applies whilst flying. I was in a taxi in Greece with a driver on their phone and felt really uncomfortable so goodness knows how I'd feel flying with these guys.

I don't know anything about aircraft's but enjoy watching shows with planes. I thought that it is suppose to International for the Pilots to always speak English. Maybe I am wrong.

Jesus Christ Noel 😅 My non aviation boyfriend when we watched this video: "What's that notepad for that the pilot has?" Me: "Ah that's normal, they all use them, they have charts & stuff" Bf: "No way, he's writing down the gee gees for later" Me, 10 mins in after the first 40⁰ deviation from the flight path: "...yeah I think ye might be right."

2:48 those people are soldiers who guard the accesses of Ciudad Obregon you would not have to fear. 11:30 those dc 9 are from the defunct airline based in peace Aerocalifornia but today there is another regional airline based in peace called Calafia Airlines and they have embraer 120 and 145 in their fleet. It is a much better option than Aero Guerrero, which is a very small airline based in the town of Guerrero Negro. Greetings!

I have some flight sim experience, plus one whole discovery flight under my belt; If I had thought of it I would have made that offer to him, especially after seeing the plane go off course. At least he stuck the two landings . . .

The cat is the best thing in this! We used to have a local cat. In our ferry terminal.. she lived near by & started to come there. She soon learned when ferrys would be comming in, she knew that ment people & attention 😅
