I’m a bit surprised that the Prestige Tour is ignored. Great middle ground from PT57A and leaser racquets, has decent power and only 315g of weight

Head extreme tour is something you need to grow with, to get use to the launch angle and dynamics of the sweet spot, you will always spray shots to further right on down the line forhand and your one hander can launch at a 5m height, while shanking few slices into the net. I think radical seems to be safest bet in all of them but only with stings that you know well and already broken in. Weather, state of balls, type of the surface, shots of your opponent shoud also be considered. I would definitely take a control racket like blade as well as something with more pop and spin like vcore98 and alternate between them.

Lately I’ve tested the Vcore 95, PureAero, Blades 16x19 and18x20, Radical mp and the Wilson Shift 300…. Keeping the Shift; sent all of the other frames back. I want a lighter racket, good for all court game, good for my one-hander, good for touch… As of now, the Shift is the answer… I’m ripping my backhand ( absolutely thrilled about it😀), touch, slice, and serve are great… my forehand , however, is not quite there yet… it’s a technique issue that I will fix… Very happy with this frame!👍

All, I test all of them and yes it’s a problem lol.. I will say the new Vcore 100 with natty gut in mains @ 56 and lux power rough @ 54 crosses. 16 and 16L…this may be the greatest racquet I’ve ever used!! It plays like a 95 control racquet with power and touch like I’ve never seen in this type of tweener!! It’s crazy…it does it all and the string set up more than likely makes a huge difference. Going to try a poly set up and see what happens because the gut hybrid is spendy…anyway Jonas, thanks for all the info always 😊

These racquets have a big range of specs and belong to different categories - control, spin etc. If I were to choose a match racquet, I'd search for it in my preferred category (power-control) within my preferred weight, stringweight, string pattern etc.

Hi Jonas! I wish you success on that tournament. I recently switched to the Head Speed MP (Auxetic) and I really enjoy this racket. It gives a prefect combination of everything. Normally I have a one-handed bh, but with this racket I can even hit my two-handers of my life. Very well crafted stick by Head. I am using it with Head Lynx Tour 1.25 at 25-24 kg.

Stick with the camera angle from behind the baseline, this way we can get to see the trajectory of the ball. In my eyes it's obvious that you hit deeper and spinnier balls with the Head Extreme (just the way my game is transformed towards that when hitting with the Diadem Elevate V2 FS 98).

I´m figuring why you are not playing with the Wilson Blade 98? According to your thoughts you seem more confident with smaller headsize, you look for control, soft frame and a little bit of power and spin. I think the last Blade V9 has it all. Great spin with a decent launch angle not too crazy, magnificent touch at net, and a pretty nice gradual power. I think it´s one of the best racket I tried so far. It is not the best frame for me only because I use to play Pure Strike and I like a tad more crispy response. I really like also the Radical MP especially on my forehand, I was a bit struggling to generate pace on my backhand with it but in general one of my favourite frame. I´m curious to try the Shift.

TF ISO 300 RS would have been a possible candidate, not too over powered like the ISO 305, personally I do not have this racquet I use a 2022 Ezone 98, but 300 RS specs are of great interest, the only issue is the grip shape which pisses some people off. Out of your racquets I would pick the Head ETA albeit, the Head avocado is a nice racquet for clay :)

Fun video, interesting! I've been testing/toying with new racquets all winter, and find the switching back and forth effects my timing and confidence. But it has been a lot of fun, and I've found what I think to be the best racquet for my game/age in the Shift 315 - but I've made sure it has an unstrung swingweight of 293 so to be manageable. Playing my first real matches with it, I do need to adjust and know that it will take time since it is powerful, but generally controllable for me. Curious as to how you would compare and think about the 300 shift vs. a below spec swingweight 315 - I think I still get a lot of spin from the 18x20 315, but more plow-through and control.

Hi Jonas just came across this one. I am interested why you chose the shift, you being an all court player that hits it flat. All other testers seem to indicate the racket you have chosen is more for players who hit spin! Also have you tried the Prokennex Ki 5 16x20 New version. The string pattern is pretty dense in the middle yes its 295g however i have weighted it to 317g strung and its a nice combo of power & control Can hit spin however can also hit nice flat shots and slice.

Recently I've been using Yonex VCore Pro 100 (2021), however it also felt clunky on my OHB - probably because of the 100sq head size and also thicker beam (23mm) comparing to the previous versions. I think I'll go back to personally weighted Dunlop CX 200 LS - wonderful racquet in my opinion. Cheers!

I call this the "pancake" feeling. My backhand is my strongest shot (hitting partners avoid it), and most 100" racquets really limit my shot selection. Exceptions are the Phantom 100X 18X20 and Angell TC100. The TC100 would have been my perfect racquet, but it's a really open 16x19. Would sail balls out of nowhere.

You need to stick to one racquet in my opinion, you will never develop proper proper mechanics if you keep switching around too much... Seems like you have more of a flatter FH and shorter take back. I would go for a Gravity Pro or an older Pro Staff 97.

Hard luck in the match. Ultimately in the matches, one needs to go for one's shots and serves, and to do that you need good control (as well as movement around the court). I'm not sure the Shift will do that for you. What about a Blade 98 18x20, which gives great control and consistency, and great for one-handed BH drives as well as slices.

Great personal insights Jonas. Thank you for sharing your journey. Seeing as PT57 is a bit underpowered but your preferred feel, and Shift (I.e. the Wilson Speed) a bit too direct, would the Gravity not fall in the sweet spot for you? Or does the 100sq inch head size not gel for you?

Hey Tennisnerd can I give you a Tip. I have heard you before say that your footwork let's you down and I 100% agree that's what's likiting your level now. But it's so obvious to me why it's so bad. You are FAR to upright. You need to get your stance wider, your split step needs to be wider and get your body lower, you also need to do this when moving laterally. You are running instead of crabbing. You want to keep you body at all time the same height above the ground. People who are upright like you tend to change their body height a lot. Your quads will be burning when yous start doing this, but in time it will become natural. Movement will get faster, timing better, and footwork gets better too.
@megowopwop8545
@megowopwop8545 Жыл бұрын
Also bend you knees, even when you split step to get wider your legs are so straight.
@albertozabeo77
@albertozabeo77 Жыл бұрын
I think you should change the forehand swing. It is too linear. U need to swing from right to left not from back to front, it should be a semicurcular path. This will create natural spin and just better depth control. Open stance will come naturally of course. My 2cent
