I've said this before and I'll say it again... the Rav4 should should always have a "truck like" front. It has always been a "baby truck". The hammer head design should just live with the sedans and Crowns.

Definitely looks real to me. No squiggly lines or anything to suggest AI generation. Also, if you look closely at the spy shot, the "bar" connecting the headlights is on the bottom, same in the leak. And like you mentioned the grill holes being half-filled.

We have a 2019 rav4 hybrid and absolutely love it! We haven’t had a single issue with ours and love the design of the vehicle. It’s the 4Runners little sister and looks that way. That’s how it should be.

If they’re going to keep the Corolla Cross, I think it would make the most sense to go with a boxier design for the RAV4. I think I’d consider one if it were more of a “baby” 4Runner (with the right off-road package from the factory).

Not a fan of the hammerhead, but everything can be forgiven with the following: 1. Improved NVH. 2. Maintain physical controls. 3. Improve seat comfort. 4. Not a fan of screens, so I really don’t care about tech upgrades. Just give people apple carplay or android.

I think it’s darn close at minimum. A lot of manufacturers change the shape of their vehicles under camo. Extending ends, etc, can also mask what’s underneath.

Toyota has two joint ventures in mainland China, FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota, and Rav4 also has two exteriors. Usually, the powerful FAW can get the appearance of the American version of RAV4, while the GAC version has a relatively cheap, third world style appearance.

I thinks its probably close, but there will be some minor tweaks for the US market. Toyota's new exterior design seems to be an attempt to allow hybrid and BEV power trains to use common exterior. I am OK with the new design, but I really wish they would avoid fake scoops, air damns, ... I was hoping they would make it more rugged, bringing in a little Land Cruiser influence and improved the drive train of the plugin hybrid, improving AWD (e-RWD) for off-road performance (closer to Subaru).

There’s enough consistencies between all three to believe that the white car is the Chinese version and the Best Car version is their recollection of what we’ll get in America. The camouflaged spy shot front end lines up with the BC render. With that said, it looks like the current RAV4 and Rogue had a baby, at least from that angle.

I think the new RAV4 is being built on a next-generation TNGA platform, once that is easily adaptable to conventional ICE, hybrid, PHEV, and full electric vehicle drivetrains. The US market will likely get hybrid, PHEV and BEV drivetrain models only, unless Trump Administration rules will allow the sale of the new RAV4 with an upgraded 2AR engine.

I was excitedly waiting for something that looked more modern, and either sleeker or more aggressive. If these closely matching projections are accurate, it's a step entirely in the wrong direction. The front end with that laundry basket grill is ugly. The back end is stodgy and dated, as if it's from 15 years ago. The side profile is OK, but pretty much same old, same old. Toyota I know you have it in you to do much better than this. Have you really become so boring? Is this to be the 'grandpa car' - today's Buick for the aging boomers?
