My favorite low budget winter bourbon is the 100 proof Early Times. It usually takes a few weeks to find it for $27 for a liter. Where I live in Frankfort Kentucky, many like the Buffalo Trace choices but so many the price is high and availability low. It is a better bet to try the J Mattingly and Glenn's Creek choices. My wife bought me the $120 J Mattingly Open Doors for my 65th birthday, after I did a tasting for 6- their building is a short walk from Buffalo Trace. Glenn's Creek is about 5 miles south of Frankfort, next to Castle & Key. The one of the Castle & Key that I tried seemed very young, hopefully their newer releases are better.

Thanks for that! I haven't picked up any Early Times, though it's one of those low budget pick ups I keep thinking about. I liked the Castle and Key tour more than I liked their Whiskey!!

I just got a Midwinter Nights Dram in Nakomis a couple weeks ago (for right about $150). Using it as this Christmas season pour. I haven't tried it yet, but certainly will this weekend. I'm glad to know you like it, I'm sure I will too. Great video as always, brother!! #WearTheDamnHat

Thanks! $150 is the best price you'll find this for these days. I hope you enjoy the pour, cheers!

Great video. Need to pick one up. A lot less bourbon in the background 😂.

Thanks! Yeah, that whiskey is in deep storage. It's going to be a chore to get it back and forth
