Some people smelled this on him years ago but couldn't say anything because of the hype. Then he "disappeared" and it was assumed he was making big bucks at high stakes games in Macau. Then suddenly, after being completely uninterested in social media he becomes interested in politics like he's being paid to do it. Then goes silent again. He doesnt gamble by participating in games he doesnt understand like horse or dog racing like degenerates like Dwan and Ungar did. Him, Phil Ivey and Dnegs are one of the rare ones that stood the test of time. I think flashy bluffers like Dwan Gus Hansen Isildur1 always end up bust at the end of the day. They have a legal contract. A handshake agreement is a legal contract. However they have more than that, they have text messages. Tom offered these guys to have a third party arbitrate their claim and they refused because they are lying.

Neither one of these cases sound they involved money changing hands really. The first they have a staking agreement. Tom was supposed to cover half the buys of the series. But before that the other guy plays the series on his own money or perhaps even other staked funds. Afterwards he doesn't do well and then goes to settle up with Tom for his losses. Tom for whatever reason stalls on his but now seems to actually be paying him back. Slowly. The second is some weird sidebet on top the legitimate losses they both sustained with the bookmaker. Who knows what the side bet is. Neither party is saying.

Well I don’t know if staking is always a loan. Meaning. There’s a website you can stake WSOP players. But only if they place in a payout position do you get paid. It’s if they win you get x% on your gamble.
