By myself this doesn’t hit home for me just hits differently too vermintides, I think it’s the whole being stuck underground thing, would be nice to explore some landscapes. The only map which stood out for me was that space marine city like map.

Honestly that is the thing that I like about the game, that it is similar but thank god not exactly like Vermintide, that stuff was just boring as hell. But they still have to add way more content for it to be something more then a play 2-3 rounds and log off

I really liked Vermintide 2 so I have been playing and waiting for this to become good. There's still fun to be had despite the atrocious writing both storywise, lorewise, characterwise and dialoguewise. Which at beginning of Vermintide 2 was quite charming and funny but gradually turned godawful too. Still the gameplay is definitely there. If you like making builds, trying funny combos, grinding for that hammer with the perfect statlines to make you one shot a chaos daemon and having an entire build around "hahah funny I can one shot the biggest enemies in the game but otherwise this build is actually awful". Other than that the weapon feedback is unparalleled and it makes the core experience of crunching and exploding thousands of enemies unbelievably satisfying. To me it is fun for thousands of hours as long as there's some excuse to keep doing it, like a new build or new drip. People are mad at Fatshark all the time because the good they make is incredibly good, but then it's impossible to understand how they can mess it up so badly. But yeah right now is a good time to start playing Darktide I do recommend.

It’s definitely one of those let it cook games where the longer it cooks the better it gets. I’m already having heaps of fun but as an ogryn main I feel we suffer a lack of equipment to use. I only just noticed while curiously looking at other classes that they’ve got like 3x more shit to play with.

I believe the game is still in beta access, content isn't there, but seeing with their events and how vermintide evolved, I believe next year the game might get a story line or some lore in game.... OR a DLC

I’m having a good time in it. It’s a good time killer for myself and my son. Playing on a series and a Xbox one. We’re loving running together through the missions. We don’t care about frame rates. Or the story. We are just enjoying the combat and having a crazy shooter for us to play. I suggest that people stop picking everything apart and just enjoy it for what it is. Edit: I guess I was wrong. Silly me. Everyone stop having fun! The guys on PC living with mom don’t like it!

You will care about frame rate if it runs at an unplayable 30 fps lol. Average boomer opinion, nobody "picks everything apart". The game launch was poor in content with many issues, it only got better with time but it still needs more.

I played nearly 30 h the last days. The resolution is hard, but at the pace of the game it is less a problem. I had no fps issues at all. Did you reinstall the game on series x? Runs very well.

i'm having a blast with this, i really enjoy it on a series s. it's been a while since i played a warhammer title and i happen to like the slow progression, it makes me get better. it's fun, gorey and every man for himself, though it should be a team effort. i guess i'd buy it if it wasn't free.

Running this off a 3080 and getting around 160fps on 1440p on most times. It’s genuinely a fun game but at times it does get a bit repetitive. I hope they had more unique enemies and maps in the future because I definitely see potential, it reminds me of l4d2.

The lack of maps and in game cosmetics that you can earn is pretty bad. Majority of cosmetics locked behind pay wall and only 7 maps 🤦‍♂️.

I never played it when it first released but have been putting a bit of time into it on Xbox series x. I love the Warhammer universe and am gutted I'm not enjoying this more. Playing as the Ogryn and the gun play is solid and satisfying. Sadly the missions seem incredibly repetitive and even thought the environment looks great it gets stale fast. There already just seems like a lack of things to do. The missions are too long imo. At least 30mins and often taking 40 or more. It's not something I can just jump into. I doubt I'll stick with it which is a shame cos it feels like it could be great with more and varied content

ive been playing this game on seires xfor the past two days and i love it,im a little disapointed how he didnt talk about the batter between charaters,but the overwelming aspect of the game during its levels ,yes can be stressful but its fun to butally murder heratics ,but also challenging to where you might be screwed over by one netter or run into a chaos spawn and a demon host within the first room,plus even two zelets with flamers is a really fun time.for me i love this game ,the one thing id dislike is how fast you unlock all the wepons and the lack of two many maps but also the game makes each time you play a map at least a little different plus you can try different characters and builds to make the experince different too. 9.5/10

still weird that these random penal guys are stronger than base space marine level, and still everyone calls them worthless. if a normal guard platoon did feats like this as often then they would be promoted like hell and made heroes. it just felt like to me that they tried to make it grim dark without actually implementing the lore as much, "yeah you all suck and are worthless now go kill daemonhosts and greater demons that even Space marine struggle with in a squad." to someone who doesn't know the lore sure it might be pretty dope, but to someone who knows more of the lore you just gotta turn your brain off for it to make sense or it just feels so stupid. (I also got it day 1 and was disappointed with the fact that they focused more onto the cash shop than even crafting back then... "we have a fully functional cash shop, but no crafting yet)

I hope they add real content to the game or expand it massively. Right now except the skill tree, which is awesome, not gonna lie there, you don't have anything to work towards. You can't craft yourself an awesome armor, because you either buy one for real money or you just look like shit until you grind for like 200hours and have rediculous amounts of "gold", and weapons are also rng and mostly trash. I know all the "tide gamers" with around 4000-8000 hours in Vermintide will go like "Well if you don't like it just leave the game, you just can't appriciate it like you should!!!!!" but they played Vermintide like crazy, so idk about their judgement

Never played a warhammer game before. Don’t even know the lore. But was free with game pass and I love it. Love the atmosphere, the FPS is solid, and it’s prob the best horde mode I’ve ever played. Great time waster. By the way playing on series x and the performance issues you mention I never experience. It’s solid.

Performance issues are truly an issue but like, its a l4d2 type game, the story is told through subtext 90% of the time. Also, the chaos faction youre fighting is nurgle so, not alot of talking done there, just rot.

Got it yesterday for $40 on Xbox. Played for about an hour or two. REALLY not long. So far I hate it. The controls feel bad. It looks terrible. They spent way too much time with the character creation in a game where none of that matters. Maybe I’m spoiled by Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3. I wanted to play a FPS game and I didn’t want to just play Titanfall again (the shooting aspects of Starfield really aren’t good).

It’s boring for me. The fps perspective feels odd in a horde game like this. The weapons don’t feel good to shoot and players are like herding cats. Sure it’s been update but it’s boring for me and you cannot campaign alone as well. I know there are folks who love it. But really repetitive and fps is turnoff.

I dunno I have not played much Darktide compared to other games, I guess I am one of those people who plays games for 3k hours and then leaves a negative review. But generally tbh its for stuff like Overwatch where I loved the game for 3k hours and then they ruin it with an update. Or its a game that is almost perfect and all the devs have to do is polish up the game and finish some of the content they started (paladins). And tbh in paladins case it sort of worked cuz they brought back the beta siege mode and payload. Anyway Darktide. The problem I have with darktide is it is really brain numbing. Like I played the game a lot last night before going to bed, and if I do that normally I wake up with like memories of the gaming session. But I had to scratch my head like, what was I doing last night? I think its cuz of how brain dead the encounters and objectives are. This obviously is a problem with zombie horde games in general and I have to admit I skipped left for dead back in its hay day because I also found it really brain dead. The only reason I picked up any of the Tide games is because I absolutely love the Warhammer art style and I want them to keep making games until they make a good one. Its going to happen one day. I mean Call of Duty Modern Warfare happened one day and that is a gem in the most boring game genre you can imagine. Military themed zerg shooters with low TTK.. Multiplayer was meh. But the single player was really good and Modern Warfare 2s spec ops mode was really fun. The game would be a lot more fun if you did not have RNG elements on a weapon's base states. Like if a bolter was a bolter. If you want sub categories release more "Marks" to vary the weapon type but this like, "ohh this gun does 80% dmg but that one only has 69% but has a lot more reload speed." Is really boring. Like it changes the focus from just the gameplay to now I have to force the RNG to give me something decent as a base weapon. Suddenly my focus is getting as many resources as possible for gear grind rather than role playing a character in 40k. Put this in contrast to Starship Troopers Extermination where gear is not RNG... I spend more time on that game thinking about the gameplay than the items. Id love to level more classes but I have spent all my time on this game min maxing one character. Yes the grind is a lot better than it used to be, but its still there. It also means like, if someone is new they have to arbitrarily suck because of their items. As opposed to like, having the same opportunities to kick ass as any other player. One meme me and my friends had when playing ODST horde mode was "noobs luck" when someone who was new was going mental and doing great. The only reason they could experience this was because they had the same equipment we had. Our bullets did the same damage. This currency grind and equipment level thing also makes me a less sociable player. Last night some people wanted to team up with me, and I only played one or two matches with them because they could not handle Malice yet and I wanted to play Heresy. So I had to choose between playing for less resource rewards vs game time or ditching some fellow gamers. And lastly, the power levels for the characters are just off. The lore of the game is your are a loser nobody and yet you are basically just budget space marines with thick plot armour instead of actual armour. Im not saying you are, but I really have this suspicion that youtubers were paid to praise this last update. Its like uncanny how suddenly a bunch of growing channels that normally wouldnt cover darktide cover darktide. They all saying "its insane" "this is great" and then when they do actually show them playing game in chat with their friends they sound like a TV presenter pretending to like the subject matter for the camera.

it's horrible, dude. I have a rx6750xt and a 34 inch monitor (3440 x 1440), 32gb ram and a 5700x CPU. I get in Warhammer, on high, with FSR on, barely 40-50 fps.. if I turn on ray tracing, jumps down to 20-30 At the same time, it's weird, because I see others with 6700xt that get way better performance than me on 1440p..so I do not really understand. Fortnite also performs like s*it. 40-50 fps on Max Settings, with Nanite on and Hardware Ray Tracing off.. Lately I have realised that SAM was messing with my fps and stuttering, so I turned that off and now it is better, but still did not get rid entirely of the performance issues.@@Hitman89plays If you have any tips for me, I would really appreciate it bro..

It always upsets me when people complain about the graphics of games. When the games look really good and then the reviewers say something like “it looks like 720p ”. Oh boo hoo you bought a xbox that cant fully run the game. On pc it’s beautiful, and the whole graphics look bad argument is people who have nothing else to complain about lmao. Some of the best games have bad graphics. I am so sick of rich crybabies who can only see a game for the graphics, it makes me laugh. If you can only see a game for the “quality of the graphics “ why are you even playing it at all? Obviously not for the gameplay… If the only thing you care about in a game is how it looks why are you even playing games in general 😂. Go outside and look at the sky or something.
