Casinos have great buffets. I wouldn't be surprised if that is at least part of the correlation.

Growing up my family would joke how my devout catholic mom had the sharpest elbows because of how fast she could get out of church at the end of mass. We would duck behind her and follow in her wake.

When I was on the stake high counsel in Las Vegas we were told that less than 25% of our stake's adult members were tithe paying, temple recommend holding and attended church regularly. That was in the 1990''s, and we were told that our Stake's activity rate was above average.

@@sjenson6694 Ya... They won't. The more they fight for it, the more people believe in it and make their Holy Ghost feel more legitimate. They'll just push on rejoicing/ 'defending emotions' to get ppl to feel like they are all in it for the cause/ or die more justly for their principles, then church laps it up and plays off it self believing they are more just.

After communion in the Catholic church I attended there was always people who left right out the door instead of going back to their seats. There's about 15 minutes of mass left after communion. I was always very jealous as a kid watching them go ...

Maybe some members who live in an area 😊that has a casino go to the casino to eat. Casinos have restaurants in them and the food can be really good and less expensive than other restaurants.

As a current LDS Ward Clerk, this is false information. On average, every ward or Branch is tracted manually. Currently our ward is typically around 50 percent attendance. We are a large ward with a lot of less active members. Our Stake avarage is around 75 percent. It's simple to find this information. The attendance is definitely private, and help allocate the needs and assistance for the ward.

When I was in the bishopric in Murray, UT in the 1990s, our attendance was in the 40th percentile. We were on par with other wards in the area. Attendance is now much lower. Congratulations on your ward and stake being the exception!😊

Your ward must be one of the most active in the church. Wards that I've been in, including those in my mission were about 25-30%. The only wards I attended that had genuinely high activity were YSA wards at BYU.

Might be worth changing the headline as it sounds like the LDS Church itself is tracking cellphones, like through LDS Tools or another app/spyware. Rather than big-N anonymised data revealing population patterns.

The requirement of a cell phone to participate isn't productive. I need silence my phone and put it away to focus on God. Towards the end, I just surfed Facebook during service. I'm not interested in internet-focused worship.
