Hi Nappyfu, hope you doing well...I wanted to know if you think that 4c hair likes aloe vera juice? I don't think I've ever seen you use it. I just watched one of your old mini twist videos this morning on how to wash them. Take care.

marian B such a good question. I noticed my scalp doesn't like aloe. Even when I focus on only spraying the strands..bad dandruff not long after.

+Catherine...ummm..well, like she did not get a chance to respond, so, i guess I will just have to try it for myself. Back in the day, I used the fresh aloe plant in a blend, but I stopped b/cI was seeing particlesin my hair...prob. from the egg, which I will NEVER use again.

So when are you writing "The Green Beauty Guide to Healthy Natural Hair" book?Or some kind of title like that.....lol Im just saying you should definitely look into being a published author. Your book will not stay on the rack. Remember the "The Science of Black Hair: A Comprehensive Guide to Textured Hair Care" This was a game changer for alot of naturals. I still read this book. Its been such a detrimental contribution to my hair journey. I honestly feel if you...no...WHEN you write a book it will be like the updated and more hands on version of the above mentioned book. It will speak to natural from a scientific, practical, relate-able stand point. Im just speaking it into existence for you girl. You're going to end up writing a book. If you never have nor never thought about......get ready to!!!

I used to get a lot of single strand knots. My twist out would look great but I would still see single strand knots. I don't have as many now because I got a trim in december. But I do believe that a good twist out depends on techniques. First time I did a twist out it looked horrible then I learned the right technique and got better results over time

I'm using heat again! I'm realizing my hair grew faster when it was blow dried , compared to what I've been experiencing with air drying! Lots of knots at the root and breakage. I was wondering why my hair looked great in twists while wet and a hot mess the next morning. I was saying " yeahhhh that's me!!!" This whole video lol

Living in a completely Caucasian part of the world without a single African salon I had to cut my hair and leave it short for months cos I just can’t take care of it. I spent so much money following yt videos and buying expensive AF products (and paying shipping) and trying their suggestions only to be frustrated near tears and going to work yet again in a head scarf. This explains soooo much. Thank you so much for this. You have literally changed my life. I am gonna try again to grow my natural hair.

Wonderful content! Great job on this video - yours are a big must watch for me to get factual information on my hair care. I love your use of scientific process to back up what's been working for me in the last couple of months. Honestly, I never thought that knowing the porosity of my hair was important, but I was having a hard time maintaining moisture, even tho I would spritz my hair religiously every morning and night. Then I watched some videos on low porosity hair - I can't remember whose right off the top of my head, but it changed my hair game DRASTICALLY! Here are some things that have been helping me: 1) I don't use cold water for a final rinse anymore - all those videos that say do a final rinse with freezing water😒 - nah! All it does is close my cuticles and moisture can't get in! I now use lukewarm water or tea (I usually finish off with a tea rinse) and it turns out great! 2) I warm my leave in and oils before every use - this is super easy too: I just put some water in a cup (I use washed out yoghurt cups, the big ones) and microwave this for 2-3 mins. Then I pop my applicator bottles into the water for 5 mins to warm up my products. This safely and quickly warms up my spritz, leave in and oils so I can apply them. Now I'm able to retain moisture till midweek before I need to re-apply and my hair is thriving! Anyone who has low porosity hair and doesn't want to use a blow dryer to apply the needed heat, please try warming your products - I think you'll love the results! 3) I also stopped using twists to stretch my hair out, I use chunky braids now and it has reduced my SSKs. But I think I'll try your suggestion of Bantu knots and see how well it works for me 4) Best of all, Now that I am retaining moisture better, I can do low manipulation and protective styles more frequently, because I don't have to redo the LOC method every day. I'm starting to see more length retention and I'm so excited. God bless you @GreenBeautyChannel! Keep up the great work!!!😍

Great video. I FINALLY figured out I have low porosity hair yet I’ve been natural for over 10 years. This video really explains some other things like when I get the knots at the ends. Those drive me crazy...plus I’ve been having a bit more breakage but I’m thinking due to giving my hair a protein treatment recently...my hair is still not very happy with me. I got a little confused about the stretching part when you mentioned you let yours dry to long. What I’ve been doing (before seeing your videos) is using jumbo magnetic rollers to stretch my hair. I don’t let them stay in long, just enough to stretch the length of my hair, so when I take them out my hair is still damp but long. I’ll have to try the paper towels to get the extra water out. I learned from Belle Bar that when using oils I should use heat or the baggie method to help my hair absorb the oils. Thank you again for the info. I’ll look at your using heat video next.

That explains why the ends of my plaits always spiral. Since I get my hair drench wet daily in the bath/shower, the hair does fine. Air drying works best for me. Oh and yes those single strand knots are annoying. Sometimes I find two knots millimetres apart at the end of a hair strand.

Another great and informative video. I am prepooing with coconut oil on my 4z strands (yes I said 4z) right now. My ends always look like that brittle tangled finish when I unravel my twists..... so a little light heat here I come. I always noticed it was a better outcome with a little heat but we always hear to avoid it. I am for it! Bantu and heat. Thanks again!

This is one of the most important hair videos I've seen in five years of KZbin viewing. I had assumed that products would give me a great twist out. My hair looks better soaking wet than completely dry. Not one product or technique that I used produced the looks in the KZbin videos. In fact, once dry my hair look liked it was never done. Once I saw your video about low porosity,y hair, I realized that I had this type of hair and I needed to make major changes. Thank you so much. Many Blessings.

My low porosity hair is always in flat twist outs, cornrow braid outs, two-strand twist outs, or regular braid outs. I probably need to dust my ends more often to help prevent single strand knots. I need to go back to finger detangling sometimes vs detangling with a comb exclusively like I've been doing since last month. I'm going to try doing the blow dry tension method on my hair before styling in flat twists or other stretched style to see how my low porosity hair acts.

I have finally figured it out, thanks to you. I have low porosity hair and for the longest I thought I had high porosity even though I didn't do much to my hair to cause that, I just assumed I was smh. Thank You GB 😀😀😀😀😍😍😙

A video has never resonated with me so much as this one did at 2:10, I *thought* I had low porosity but I know FOR SURE I do now 😂 I was even saying yesterday this is why I'd given up years ago on twistouts and braidouts, thinking my hair came out this way because I had low density, sparse hair (I'm actually in the medium to high density range) and not knowing it was actually low porosity.

Thank you veeery much!! I've had a bad time with single strand knots (especially at my ends) for a while, it worried me a because I thought there was something wrong with my hair. But now I have a good idea of what was causing it :) Oh! And the twist outs, oh girl the struggle is real XDD

Eureka! This is why only stretched braid outs work on my hair. Twist outs and bantu knots out made my hair look weird
