I'm in my late-20s now & I really feel like I lost my shooting touch at some point growing up. I mean I was never like a serious player, just someone who loved bball & played pickup 3-5 times a week. When I was in middle school, I was often playing with grown men. I felt like I had a really good jumper, & of all the people I played with, I was always one of the better players. But once I hit high school, I felt like my jumper just changed, my shot was broken ever since. I assume one reason might be puberty, I probably never got used to my HS body & onwards into adulthood. I think another reason was that my favorite player was Kobe, so I would try to emulate all his difficult shots. I feel good doing off the dribble shots, pull ups, fadeaways, etc., but my set shot is so broken. My form changes every time, it's often short. Especially like taking a long break from hooping, & then playing again, I be feeling like I forgot how to shoot, although I feel like it's something that should be natural. I don't have a strong physique, skinnier like a KD, sometimes I think my wrist & forearms aren't strong enough.

my issue is more i always hit front rim and 90% of the time if i put lots of power in my jump when i shoot it will go in but the longer i play the more tired i get so i use my legs less. i really wanna adapt to shooting without jumping so i dont have to worry about being tired and. missing.

@trap4045 жыл бұрын
I used to have the same problem. I would recommend trying two basic things. First, move you raising point a little further from your body. That is, bring the ball up just a little further out in front of you, but obviously not so far that you aren't controlling it. When I did that, it gave me a very comfortable natural way to get my elbow in, because it creates that room between you and the ball. Secondly, make sure you are shooting with a rhythm that loads low by your waist, and flows up, to make sure your shooting arm is fluently straight. Like he said in the video, load farther down instead of top shelf. I did those two things for a few months and everything improved right away. They combine to give you very good and replicable arm positioning. Hope that helps a little. :)

Coach.. please resist throwing shade at other coaches who are more likely significantly more invested in trying to help their players than you can be. Destroying a players trust in coaches is counter productive. The quality of your advice/logic should do the convincing.. and coaches are ALSO here to learn an improve their coaching techniques shot training with their players. Coaches and players are your audience, keep that in mind.
