Hi. I am a Christian who, obviously but respectfully, disagrees with Tovia concerning the Christian faith. Furthermore, though my dad was Jewish, he was an atheist so if I mispell any Hebrew names (e.g. words that I know as 'Messiah, Moses, and Jesus'), please let me know. Most of all, may the Lord lead and guide us all into the truth concerning Y'shua, Who I know as the Mashiach. Tovia, if you are reading this, and all other readers, I hope that you will be able to admit when you are stumped, as this argument has eternal consequences. Pride has no lane on the highway of truth. For example, I agree that Tovia has some great arguments against the Christian faith, arguments that, frankly, I do not have an argument against. Moreover, Tovia seems convinced by the evidence against the Christian Bible. However, is Tovia infallible? Am I? As it is written, "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding." I trust that the Lord will lead me into all the truth. I hope that, likewise, you are not interested in protecting your position, but are open to wherever the truth leads, according to our limited understanding, leaning upon the Lord. First, what does the Holy Scriptures say about the Mashiach? Mosh wrote that Mashiach would be a prophet like to himself. Hence, when it is written, "I called my son out of egypt," of course that is not a direct reference to Mashiach; yet, it does illustrate how Y'shua fulfilled prophecy, that He is 'like Mosh.' Is that reasonable? This is a Jewish person's first chance to say, "You might be right." Is that not a posibility? I think that it is a great point. Moreover, I am certain that Tovia has an explanation for Isaiah 53. However, does Isaiah 53 not sound like it is speaking about Y'shua? It is written, "He was assigned a grave with the wicked (i.e. between two thieves on a Cross), and with the rich in his death (Joseph, a rich man, provided the tomb), though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth (i.e. even King David had lied, everyone has! Yet, not Mashiach. If there were no lies, then He was without sin, as it is written about Y'shua). Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin..." Can the blood of bulls ever provide atonement for sin? However, Y'shua is the Passover Lamb. By His stripes we are healed (He was Whipped). Does this not sound like Jesus? I think every honest Jewish person would have to admit that this sounds just like Jesus. Remember, all who reject Mashiach will be cut off from the Lord's people. Trust in the Lord to guide you. Y'shua, the Mashiach, is the light of the world.
@stopwhinning
@stopwhinning 2 жыл бұрын
Ken please read what you wrote. Your explanation of Isaiah 53 is 180 degrees backwards. You say he, Jesus was assigned a grave with the wicked. And this was the death with the two thieves. No he was assigned a grave with the rich. He was buried in a rich man's tomb. Just the opposite. Secondly you say he was with the rich in his death. No he was with the wicked in his death. Christianity and idolatry has twisted your mind like a pretzel. Please read what you wrote, it backwards.
@kenshiloh
@kenshiloh 2 жыл бұрын
@@stopwhinning Hi. I stand corrected. I did have it backwards. Now, I have showed my integrity by acknowledging an error on my part. I am wondering, will you do the same? It is written, "But he was pierced for our transgressions, ... the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." Does this not sound like the Christian New Testament? Jesus died for our sins? If you were a Christian, would this not be a strong support that Y'shua is the Mashiach? Thanks! Y'shua is the light of the world!

@@kenshiloh you now need to not use a christian corrupted translation. Doesn't quite say pierced for transgressions. Check a jewish translatation. Personally my book of isaiah at home only has hebrew but no way you can translate it quite like that. Will not sound quite like that with an honest translation. Also call him jesus. Have only groups like messianics seeking to convert Jews trying to say his name in hebrew to try emphasize his jewishness. Even though his name was only recorded in the Greek and it could be yeshu, yoshke, yeshua, yehoshua. All types of ways. We are kind of offended by english speakers especially trying to say yeshua to us. I just checked the chabad translation for you. Here it is. "But he was pained because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement of our welfare was upon him and with his wound we were healed." Remember this is the nations that were shocked still being talked about in 53:1 and before in 52 who did persecute us badly and who are affected by our suffering like they were after the holocaust voting for israel in 1947, 2 Years later. Seems to be something about us dying and suffering that affects gentiles to do repentance and certainly in the messianic age they will realise the truth If you want a really good verse by verse breakdown type in Google jewsforjudaism isaiah 53. And or watch their videos. They have a 3 part series on youtube There is many more resources and info than this but this should explain more Also for I called my son out of Egypt is Matthew which is new testament. That doesn't prove anything as that is new testament. I can write a book about myself much later like today too. Can say I am with donkeys and match up whatever I like. Furthermore we are called in exodus 4:22 and you shall say to pharoah so said the lord my first born son is israel. As you can see israel is the son that was called out of Egypt anyway. Not jesus

@Strava 89 , I am not aware of a single Rabbi who thinks that. Tovia Singer and other contemporary Rabbis have made it clear that while Islam is a false religion, it is far better to practice than Christianity because it is consistent with the Noahide Laws. I believe it is justified to work with Muslims to help Christians leave their state of idolatrous polytheism. Even if those Christians convert to Islam (as opposed to Noahidism or Judaism), it is still an improvement.

No one who reinterprets the G-d of Israel to be a composite in any imaginable way worships the G-d of Israel. The G-d of Israel affirms over and over again he is one, singular, alone, none with Him, no god before, with, nor after Him, entirely by Himself, the "only" Savior, not a man, nor the son of man, does not like, nor change His mind... Any other concept of the G-d of Israel is therefore false. The only way to have your trinitarian god is to make the G-d of Israel a split personality or schizophrenic. New Testament and Christian theology contradicts G-d's word and calls Him a liar.

The issue is using western thought i.e., Greek thought, and the New Testament as the filter through which you are reading and trying to understand the reference. If, as the New Testament asserts, G-d incarnated, then when G-d sends an angel to people who uses the language of an ambassador who represents the authority by whom they are sent means that angel is therefore G-d. Let's think about what it means if what you suggest is true. G-d speaks numerous times about his incorporeality. So, either G-d has lied, which He also declares He does not do, or you are trying to understand a document written in Hebrew thought via a system of thought which which it is entirely incompatible.

Revelation this Jesus says he is an angel in 22:16. Satan plays Jesus in the New testament he even left clues and you ignore them cause you're so caught up in lies. R. Singer is correct about the symbol of the cross. The following excerpt is taken from "The Octavius of Minucius Felix," Chap. XXIX. Octavius the Xtain says the following to Caecilius the Pagan: "Crosses, moreover, we neither worship nor wish for! You, indeed, who consecrate gods of wood, adore wooden crosses perhaps as parts of your gods. For your very [military] standards, as well as your banners; and flags of your camp, what else are they but crosses glided and adorned? Your victorious trophies not only imitate the appearance of a simple cross, but also that of a man affixed to it. We assuredly see the sign of a cross, naturally, in the ship when it is carried along with swelling sails, when it glides forward with expanded oars; and when the military yoke is lifted up, it is the sign of a cross; and when a man adores G-d with a pure mind, with handsoutstretched. Thus the sign of the cross either is sustained by a natural reason, or your own religion is formed with respect to it." So, as late as circa 200 CE we see that non-Jewish, Roman Xtians wanted nothing to do with the symbol of the cross!

Strava 89 - I am aware that the Noachide commandments are in the Torah as proclaimed by Moshe. Ger toshav, foreigner or alien, resident is a term in Judaism for a Gentile (non-Jew) living in the Land of Israel who agrees to be bound by the Seven Laws of Noah, a set of imperatives which according to the Talmud, were given by God as a binding set of laws for the 'children of Noah' - that is, all of humanity. A ger toshav is therefore commonly deemed a 'Righteous Gentile' - no more, no less. The orthodox rabbis from Israel, most notably those of the chabad-Lubavitch and religious Zionist organisations, including the Temple Institute have set up a modern Noahide movement.

Continuing in Isaiah 28 in verse 16, the Lord tells us, See I lay a stone in Zion,...a precious cornerstone..who trusts will never be dismayed. In verse 17, continuing the Lord's words, I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place. Justice and righteousness is the standard for all people: the Jews, the Gentiles, and those who do not specifically know the Lord. The truth is terrible. Most of those who call themselves Christian or Jew and others who ignore the nature that the Lord has placed in them will go to destruction.

The Christians make God from the Jewish scripture the focus of worship around the world. And you want to destroy this religion that worships your God because it does not fit with your beliefs. You think God needs us to worship him. Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." God did not create us for his pleasure. God is self sufficient and he doesn't need our worship. We need God for our own benefit.

Isaiah 27 refers to the Lord fighting the enemy. Rome pretended to convert to Christianity and yet they brought along their custom of idol worshiping. It was the Romans who nailed Jesus to the cross by instigation from the corrupt Jewish leaders of that time (do not be offended, it was for them too to have believed), who alluded to Pontius Pilate that Jesus was creating political unrest and that would make the emperor angry with Pilate to the point of removing him from office which he wouldn't allow to not lose his powerful position. What did God mean when He said to Abraham ..." I myself will provide". Was it just the ram instead of Isaac or His Son redeeming all humanity of sin. One unique, transcendent and final sacrifice. God bless Israel

That's really easy. Of course, it requires you to do something no Christian like to do. Research and test the claims of your religion. G-Zeus cannot save anyone anymore than his pagan incarnated gods via virgins, human sacrifices could save their pagan believers. Everything you know an believe about G-Zeus is abundantly found in the annals of all the non-Jewish cultures during and millennia before he was produced as a Jewish version of ancient pagan man-god human sacrifice messiah. He was just the last of many hundreds of such pagan messiahs throughout the greater Greco-Roman empire from Egypt to the far east. You will no doubt ask for this information here, in comment format, but it is too much information for this venue, and it is too easily found one one's own. Not that I expect you to do any research that will take the light off of what G-d called an abomination i.e., human sacrifice. There is no room for proof here of the parallels between the sons of Jupiter, Krishna, and many others to G-Zeus. The best I can do is give you something to think about using logic, reason, and research. What you look for so desperately in the Jewish Scriptures is not there. However, what you are looking for in them does exits... in the annals of non-Jewish cultures. There are approximately 40,761 verses in G-d’s Holy word, the Jewish Bible. None of those verses ever allude to the theology of the New Testament and Christianity. They most certainly do not pointedly claim nor point to any part of Christian theology. To get around this problem Christians look for verses that, when ripped out of the context of the chapter and the rest of G-d’s word, can be made to “appear” to support Christian theology when colored with New Testament theological premise. It is important to note finding any part of New Testament theology in the Jewish Scriptures requires a person to first “believe” i.e., blindly, no evidence, not test and validate, the New Testament and be a Christian. Only then can the “replacement Jew” imagine New Testament theology in the Jewish Scriptures. Therefore, Christians imagine their pagan theology that is thousands of years older than Christianity 1: an incarnated god, born of a virgin. 2: The pagan concept of a man-god human sacrifice atonement for sin. 3: Ritual cannibalism, and ritual blood drinking, along with other pagan ideas, in the Jewish Scriptures. This is how Christians come to “believe” G-d has changed His mind, abandoned all His warnings about worshipping pagan gods, allows Himself to be compared to, and worshipped like, pagan gods. Christians are saying, “The Jews don’t understand the word of G-d entrusted to their care. However, we gentiles, who have never known nor understood the Hebrew mind and philosophical thought. We who do not have any part in the Jews or their history. We who cannot rightfully assert any familiarity with G-d’s righteous word or revelation at Mount Sinai. We who accept the overt anti-Semitism of the New Testament and completely reject Judaism and Judaic thought. We, and only we, can rightfully and correctly understand and interpret what was never ours, what we never knew and rejected based on later documents that do not agree with each other filled with irreconcilable theological errors.” Think about that for a moment. Documents that irreconcilably contradict themselves are said to be Holy, the inspired word of G-d and then purport to teach a theology incompatible with and rejected by the original word of G-d! How ridiculous is that! Then Christians have the nerve to get upset and angry when Jews reject their theology and point out their ludicrous claims! How is this any different from Mormons making the same claims to Christians about their New Testament? After all, Mormonism claims it has a Newer Testament, which they tack onto the Christian New Testament. Just like Christians have done with their bible, tacking it onto the Jewish Bible. Christians claim Mormons aren’t real Christians, of course they also say that about ancient Christians who did things modern Christians don’t like. Nonetheless, why aren’t the Mormon claims that they are better equipped to interpret the Christian New Testament “through” the filter of their “Newer” Testament just as valid as the Christian claims about the Jewish Scriptures? All of this is something like a hard-liner communist who completely rejects democracy, has no understanding of it, yet argues they are better equipped to interpret democratic principles and their applications. That which rejects and contradicts the original word of G-d cannot ever properly interpret it through the filter of their contradictory documents. No one can have a better understanding and interpretation of the Jewish Scriptures than the righteous Sages of Judaism, the people who have had an intimate relationship with the Holy word of G-d for over 5,700 years. Christianity is Edom, which is exemplified as the beast in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Daniel 2) and the variegated fourth beast in Daniel’s vision (Daniel 7). Christians are the Edomites that have surrounded, hated, killed, oppressed, and persecuted the Jews for 2,000 years, and counting. Edomites, “like” you and missionaries, are Esau’s evil descendant Amelek i.e., the prototypical enemies of G-d, of the Jews, and of G-d’s Holy word entrusted to the Jews. Repent! Turn to G-d while you still can! Edomites, “unlike” you and missionaries, will repent and turn to the G-d of Israel, as hundreds of thousands already have, of which the numbers continue to grow. Hallu-Yah! Praise Hashem! Blessed be His Holy Name forever and ever! Christians have been deceived and taught lies. Leave the perversion of Christian theological idolatry and denigration of the G-d of Israel as some puny, insignificant, worthless, “nothing” of a pagan god! Sin cannot be expiated by the abomination of human sacrifice, whether it’s a man-god or not. Gentiles! Turn to the G-d of Israel confessing your sins and asking for forgiveness. Christian Jews, which includes Messianic Jews embracing the Christian man-god human sacrifice messiah, repent! Return to the G-d of your forefathers and of your nation Israel with humility and deep remorse confessing your sins and requesting forgiveness. For the G-d of Israel is steadfast and true, long suffering and abundant in mercy to forgive and pardon sins!

Just read the text. And, by the way, the ancient Israelites were compulsive idolators, with a few exceptions that we all know about. Most of the condemnations against idols in the scriptures are directed at the covenant people. They worshipped the stars in the Wilderness during the forty years, and in the land they worshipped the gods of the Canaanites with a few interruptions by the godly kings, until God lost patience with them and exiled them en mass. Isaiah and the other prophets said that Israel will return to the land when they have been cured of their unfaithfulness to the God fo their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Isaiah chs. 24 - 27 are about the destruction of Jerusalem and subsequent scattering as a fulfillment of Deut. 29 & 32 for the sins of idolatry and killing the prophets. It does coincide with Daniel 7, but that's also about the destruction of Jerusalem. Daniel 9 gives the window of time for this atonement to have taken place. This is in the past. Isaiah 27:7-9 makes it clear. Destruction for idolatry > scattering > atonement. 7 Like the striking of Him who has struck them, has He struck them? Or like the slaughter of His slain, *have they been slain* ? 8 You contended with them by *banishing them* , by driving them away. With His fierce wind He has *expelled* them on the day of the east wind. 9 Therefore *through this* Jacob’s iniquity will be forgiven; And this will be the full price of the *pardoning of his sin* : When he makes all the altar stones like pulverized chalk stones; *When Asherim and incense altars will not stand* . - Isaiah 27:7-9, NASB

Yup, the land became forbidden to them. The orthodox Jews still held this view and oppose the creation of the state of Israel.

How can you equate Israel to the Jews? Isaiah talks about the destruction of Judaism which gave rise to false Christianity.
