PRS Private Stock Custom 24 Hollowbody II Piezo Spalted Guitar

I designed this guitar and I don't even know what to call it. Custom 24? Kinda. Hollowbody II? Sorta. Its fully hollow, has no F holes, deep carved top and back, and.... no pickups??? Yep, piezo only and it sounds better than a Taylor 914CE when plugged in (we have proof, watch the KZbin video at link in bio).
This guitar is genuinely impossible to photo - its beauty can really only be captured on video. The painted portions of the spalted maple top have a special type of metallic paint that can only be seen at certain angles. At some points, the guitar looks completely natural, at other points the spalted areas look completely opaque white or silver with no grain showing through.
This build took almost 3 years of collaboration and changes between myself and Private Stock Director and we couldn't be prouder of the result. Huge credit to the amazing Private Stock team at PRS for pulling off one of my wildest enveloping-pushing build ideas yet.

@@ishguitars i have the pics somewhere. That guitar is amazing. PRS needs a production version. My dream guitar is a HB without F holes. Next time you should make one with F holes but fill them in with a contrasting wood like rosewood or zitcote. One wood I have yet to see PRS dabble in is Bocote. Talk about crazy grain. Dibs on the first one ;)

I'm French, here in France we pronounce the "e" in Piezo but if you say it without the "e" it's also cool that way! It's your way to say it, it's the American way and I'm ok with that. (And many of us here in Europe are ok with that😄)

Could REALLY stand some acoustic strings on there instead. Watched a few videos and it seems like the shop is in dire need of an accurate guitar tuner and for it to be tuned how it's actually played, not tuned by lightly hitting each string. Your low E is ALWAYS sharp on all the guitars (and the A is a bit sharp as well). They need to be tuned slightly flat in order to play in tune. It's a groovy axe, but the acoustic strings would make a huge, positive difference.

To turn this into an affordable production model, they would have shave down on too many aspects that make the guitar is what it is and sound how it sounds. It’s due to its “bells and whistles” that it’s an incredibly sublime instrument. Shave down on those bells whistles and it won’t be the same guitar.

Looks really cool. But why not just add humbuckers too? It would just add more tone versatility since you can either use the piezo, humbuckers, or combo of both. If it's just to see more cool wood grain on the top I don't see the point for a real guitar player.
