Hamas is the political party that currently runs the government in Gaza. The political party Fatah did as well until they attempted a coup in 2007. The police force in Gaza is made up of employees who can be of any political party, or none. Same with other government employees. Hamas administrates, but employees don't need to be party members. Hamas has a militia that is separate from the political party. The Brigade has its own leadership, and while it's operating under the umbrella of the political party, the military leadership doesn't always consult with the political one.

@nwankwosampson-xk3jc Hamas formed a coalition government with Fatah in 2006. Look it up. This lasted until Fatah attempted a coup, which led to a short civil war. Hamas won. The coup's surviving ringleaders were executed, and the rest of Fatah's leadership were kicked back to the West Bank. There are still Fatah party members in Gaza, as well as PFLP, DFLP, etc. Hamas, Fatah, and other political parties have recently started talks about the formation of a unity government.

The guests are absolutely right. Israel’s plan is to make Gaza lawless so that they can create civilian factions who will run each area of Gaza. And we all know what that could lead to. The last thing we need is for Gazans to fight amongst one another, just so that they can get a little bit of aid from Israel. The good thing is that I doubt that any Gazan will take them up on that. They are truly desperate, but they’re also too smart for that & that’s not their culture anyway. They’re quite united as a people.
