കേരളത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഒരു കറുത്ത അധ്യായമാണ് ഐ എസ് ആർ ഓ ചാരക്കേസ്. ഒരുക്കൂട്ടം മനുഷ്യരുടെ ജീവിതത്തെ തർക്കുക മാത്രമല്ല സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ അടിത്തറയെ തന്നെ അത് പൊളിച്ചെഴുതി. അത്യന്തം സംഭവബഹുലമായ ഈ കേസിൽ മൈത്രേയൻ ഭാഗമാകുന്നത് തികച്ചും അവിചാരിതമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു. കേരളത്തിന്റെ പൊതുബോധത്തോടുള്ള ഒരു സമരം കൂടിയായിരുന്നു ആ ഇടപെടൽ. മൈത്രേയന്റെ തന്നെ വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ ഐ എസ് ആർ ഓ ചാരക്കേസിന്റെ നാൾവഴികളിലേക്ക് നമുക്ക് പോകാം. അവിശ്വസനീയമായ ഒരു ചരിത്രമുഹൂർത്തത്തിന്റെ ഈ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തൽ, വിവാദങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും മനുഷ്യത്വം നഷ്ടപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാനുള്ള മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് കൂടിയാണ്.....

ഈ കേസ് നമ്പിയില്ലേക്കു എത്തുന്നതിനു മുൻപ് തന്നെ നമ്പി ജോലി രാജി വച്ചിരിന്നു. നമ്പി നന്നായി തള്ളി താൻ എന്തോ അബ്ദുൽ കലാം ആണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നു. നമ്പി ആരാണെന്നു ആളുകൾ അറിയുന്നത് തന്നെ ഈ കേസ് വന്നതിനു ശേഷമാണ്. ഈ കേസ് അനേഷണം പാതി വഴിയിൽ ആട്ടിമറിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന് സെൻ കുമാർ അടക്കം പലരും പറയുന്നു. പിന്നെ നമ്പി പണ്യാളൻ ആണെങ്കിൽ ഈ വയസുകാലത്തു അയാൾ എന്തിന് ജനങളുടെ കോടി കണക്കിന്ന് നികുതി പണം നല്ല സന്തോഷത്തോടെ വാങ്ങി പുട്ടടിക്കുന്നു. അയാൾ നല്ല മനുഷ്യൻ ആണെങ്കിൽ ആ പണം എന്തെങ്കിലും നല്ല കാര്യത്തിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കണമായിരുന്നു. കേസ് അനീഷ്വണം അയാളിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നതിനു തൊട്ട് മുൻപ് രാജി, അതുപോലെ അയാളുടെ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ടെലിഫോൺ ബില്ലുകൾ ഒക്കെ വലിയ വ്യവസായി എന്തിനാണ് അടച്ചിരുന്നത് തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കു അയാൾക്ക്‌ ഉത്തരമില്ല.
