Who is Sultan Suleyman: The only son of Selim I, Suleyman I was born on November 6th, 1494 in Trabzon (on the Black Sea coast). At the age of 26, he became the 10th sultan of the Ottoman Empire in 1520 and is known as "Kanuni" (the Lawgiver) in his homeland, but for Europeans, he has always been "Suleyman the Magnificent".

I visited last year from US. Sulemaniye Mosque was my favourite mosque so, i went there twice. It's the most spectacular place ever. I didn't know about the cultural center, I would have gone there too. InshaAllah next time, after Covid goes away.

I watched" the magnificent century" drama....it was dubbed in Urdu and Hindi called "Mera sultan" for Pakistani and Indian viewers.... it's must watch drama....I fell in love with turkey

Missed seeing this Mosque as it was closed for repair and renovation in 2009. I am told Sulemaniye Mosque is the real deal in Turkish architecture and culture!!!
