ISTJs are the sweetest. They might come off as cold and distant but deep down they are the most sensitive and thoughtful people. My boyfriend is an ISTJ, so is my ex. They are responsible and will value honesty and loyalty out of everything. They show their love, not through words (unlike me ENFP), but through service. They do chores for you when they see you tired because they care for you. Or even go as far as finding solutions to your problems. They are misunderstood because they don't openly communicate their deep emotions.

I'm hardcore ISTJ. These are some things that annoy me at work. Using emotions to solve a problem. Thinking it's not a big deal when deadlines are missed. Not having a plan to resolve an issue. Beating around the bush. Not being open and honest with communicating what you're think. Taking all criticism, even when meant well, as against you personally. Not following policy or procedure, especially when that policy or procedure makes sense and has been agreed upon.

ISTJ is kind of like the GIVER in the book by Lois Lowry, holding all the experiences of the past, warning people in the present to prepare for possible outcomes in the future. Feeling separate from the general population who is too distracted by trends/norms to recognize nor prepare against imminent threats. It's important to note, that while ISTJs are "traditionalists/by the book" if they recognize something happening that is similar to a historical event or something they don't find logical even though it's a "law, company policy, order from an authority figure, etc." they will speak out against it because they want to warn others that if that law/policy is enforced, it will result in a negative outcome.

Now I understand why my workplace upsets me so, why I dread going to work (to the point of crying my way to work) why I feel burnt out & depressed - everything about my workplace is diametrically opposed to my personality....no one seems to care about the details, people skate by doing the bare minimum (If not less), there's virtually NO communication, policies, procedures & rules are applied haphazardly & often dependent upon who you are & how well you're liked instead of how well you perform & those who do break rules or don't perform up to standards never seem to be disciplined for it.

This accurately describes my INTJ partner. He’s the most responsible worker at his job (in logistics!) and his hard work often goes unnoticed. He really values following written rules; he will NOT drive after having just 2 beers lol, and will avoid calling out if it isn’t within enough days in advance (he never calls out). Enfp woman with an istj boyfriend. My love language is words of appreciation; his is acts if services. My frustration is that he doesn't do sweet words and his frustration is that I'm a mess when it comes to keeping a house. We also have bad communication. This said, there are many things I adore about him. He is hard working, dutiful, loyal, funny (dry humour), always calm and never tired is spite of his tight schedule and he is an excellent lover. I'm proud to be an ISTJ and wouldn't change it for anything in the world. Sure, I've often been called inflexible and a pedant because of my obsessions routines and my inability to be spontaneous. I'm not entertaining nor interesting to be around. Technically, I'm just a cog in the system that's always taken for granted. But that's fine. In times of need, when most people don't know what to do, I usually have a backup plan and can help others. That's my time to shine. I’ve taken the 16 personalities myers briggs test 4 times over the course of 2 years and I always got istp. I never related much to it except when I seen a blog someone made once about istp’s who are out of touch with their cognitive functions. She new I would never give up so she ended up leaving and freeing me to find a match that fits me... Which is the reason why the ISTJ tends a lot more to the sciences, software management, and art, contrary to what most think. They're all focused on the proccess, which use specific methods (The scientific method, drawing guidelines, and the rules of the software), and have end results which require interpretation.

My dad’s ISTJ and i’m ISFP and we constantly fight. Like i’m pretty sensitive and artistic and he’s more “brutally honest” practical and “realistic”. He’s rather strict but i learned how to lie to him and he actually really doesn’t know. He thinks i do what he says while i do what i want. He’s kind of traditional like mysogenistic racist and homofob. I’m actually better at Maths than my father was. Like he didn’t get Maths i actually like it. I just don’t get along with my dad and we barely talk like we live in the same house we don’t talk much

I feel like ISTJ's are a tad bit too cold... But that might just be me because I'm an ISFP, an almost total opposite haha! I've personally never gotten along too well with the ISTJ's in my life because I find them quite stressful 🥴 INFJ's are more my speed 😆
