I got to where I take an mid day nap now. Bout 30 minutes. Its helped me with being pissed off all the time. Well, after about 10:00am I was just a real bastard, just everything set me off. Flinging tools and shit. Anyway, that little nap helps a lot.

You can give them the engine serial number, the last six of the vin hell, you can even bring the truck to them and show them what you need, and they'll still give you the wrong part.

The older parts guys are usually good, take the job seriously, may spend ages going through old systems to find stuff for you. The kids ? mostly worthless, if they don't get an immediate answer off the computer, it doesn't exist, also too lazy to check between computer and parts labels. Thing is storemen were proud of what they knew, and had paperwork to do if parts came back, nowadays,two swipes of the keyboard and throw the returns in what might be the right bin, all done.

Appreciate the Videos, Warren. I lived next to Train Tracks my whole life, almost 20 years less than 150’ away. I now lived down the track, it’s a few acres away now. I grew accustomed to the noise as long as it was normal. If there was an overzealous engineer it would wake you up or if they were very heavy it would shake the house. It has to be nice working at the house. Thanks again for the Videos.

37 years near London's train lines, I should say that the furthest away was 100' now 70 to the actual train's skin. I don't notice any more. Sometimes woken up by extra heavy goods trains. Which was how I found the authorities were lying, they do take nuclear flasks through London ! Our drivers only sound the horns when there is work on the tracks in front of them or a genuine emergency. Years ago I stayed in Mystic, Conn for a short while, Train horns all night long, Why do your guys do that ?

Give me an old school mechanical diesel any day. These electronic nightmares fail way too often and way too soon. There has to be a better answer.
@user-ln7of9gs4s14 күн бұрын
Wrong. A certain degree of electronics is okay. Way better fuel mileage, emissions and power with electronics.
@ianlulham14 күн бұрын
One of the biggest selling points of having diesel power was it's ability to run without electricity. Just saying

Hi Warren. The reflection noise is aircraft vortex. The noise is reflected off the ionsphere. So the noise is reflected upwards, and comes down some seconds later as though the aircraft was passing you. Yes, weird. M

Just imagine how nice it would be to label each branch/connector with what it was for!! The assembly board, where all the different wires are pulled and routed for each branch could have a roll of labels for the assembler to apply to each connector showing where it is supposed to be connected. For a grand total of maybe one dollar worth of labels, the wiring loom manufacturer could save everyone lots of time and hassle.

I know Warren is busy so can anyone satisfy my curiosity? Looking at the size of the cab of a truck, it looks the same as a tow truck with a roll back instead of the trailer thing. My question is this: isn't using such a truck to tow cars a waste of power since the engine can pull a lot heavier loads?

This is the bit that I find hardest, where do all these damned wires go to to plug in ? particularly if I didn't take them off ! And what do you do with this orphan wire ? there it is, just hanging there,no connector on it, nothing it obviously reaches, nowt. Is it supposed to be connected, or is it redundant ?
