At that time, I thought “Huh. Ironic.” I didn’t go to the con so I end up debuting my cosplay a year later at a different con. Which took place 3 whole days after “A Single Pale Rose” aired. It was as I was getting my makeup on, I remembered the name for the lip glaze. I was so dang peeved. P.S. It was also hilarious that I was one of two Rose Quartzes attending, the other cosplayer being very tall and giving off gentle mom vibes, while I was short in comparison, and having perfect, rigid ballet posture. There was a joke made about “If you’re Rose Quartz (her), and you’re Rose Quartz, then which one of you is Pearl?” So imagine everyone nearby’s faces when I lifted my skirt to reveal my ballet slippers as I went into fifth position relevé and responded with “Sshh!”

My cat will freak out if I don't let her go into the bedroom. bedroom door open? The thing is, everyone can draw. Pick up a pen or pencil, make some lines or shapes, there you are. The problem is trying to draw what's in your head. So if you truly want to draw, don't start by trying to draw what's in your head. Draw anything else. A great start is the blob method: draw shapes (either coloured in or just a line, or even just a scribble), and see what you can make out of them. Doesn't have to be perfect, doesn't have to be pretty, doesn't have to resemble anything. As long as you're having fun. And meanwhile you'll discover a bit more about the things you tend to see. Me, apparently I love creatures. I almost exclusively see creatures. Others tend to see faces, or cats, or food. How do you see the world? What shapes does your hand like to draw? Explore it on paper. Thinking about drawing shouldn't be done in your head. It should be done on paper. Explore, play, vary, repeat, imagine, imitate, try, fail, discover. Get to know your own personal entries into art, get to know yourself. Have fun.
