Im a toyota fan girl. I had 2 3rd gen tacos. I just bought a 24 frontier pro4x. It is way better than the 3rd gen taco in many ways. Shifts better. Rides smoother. It also rides smoother than the 4th gen taco. Costs less. Biggest flaws are the diff cover leaks and needing a longer breather tube. Much better to deal with than the 3rd gen issues or whatever the 4th gen will bring
@camerons60288 ай бұрын
I've been 4x4ing for more than 20 years, and I can confirm that the best stories involve braking something or getting so stuck that you need 2 trucks to pull you out. Finding out that the CVs are weak in that particular scenario just means new better parts to strengthen your rig. Older stock soild axles on jeeps likely would have broken also, especially running larger tires. A worren out dana 30 might have even snaped on a jk/jl. The TFL guys blew a diff on a 4in rock hop last week in a 2024 TRD. Stuff brakes, that's why we have the aftermarket and jobs to pay for it. New sub from Alberta Canada.

@@4wdAdventurzyou know what's strange to me with trucks and four wheelers. Whatever you have or is most common it's always the other is better. If someone has a solid axle it's " independent suspension is way better" if someone has independent in the front they want to jam a solid axle under there. Now that you can't hardly find a manual clutch that's all most people are wanting. I don't know how many comments I've seen on frontiers and others trucks " I'm not getting one of these because they don't have a manual clutch as an option anymore ".

Did it just stress out the joint because you were off camber so much in thick mud only on one side? Just curious how that happened.
@4wdAdventurz8 ай бұрын
it was a combination of a lot of things. The driver side tire was at full drop, because the passenger side was tucked up into the fender. The wheels were turned, outward too much, and the RPMs were too high, putting a lot of stress on the CV. I should’ve done was either kept the wheel straight and tried to drive straight out, instead of trying to turn out of that ditch or backed up and avoided it completely.
@monocogenit18 ай бұрын
Was it the wheel in the air, that broke? Cool video man. not much Nissan truck love out there. I have a 23' Pro4x, so thanks for posting. Might I suggest switching to some smaller tires?? Would free up some ponies and reduce likely hood of breaking drivetrain components. These trucks are not exactly heavy duty and do not have lots of extra power on tap. I'm current running some wildpeak AT3s in a 255/80R17(yeah, kinda pizza cutters, but they are fairly light and still give a 33" diameter tire) on stock wheels. kinda wish I had done the 16" wheel swap and then run 285/75R16. and maybe go with a shorter lift...2.5" is good for daily/mostly stock truck.

@jeanclaude70187 ай бұрын
The Frontier is made in Mississippi, and probably has more American content than Ford or Chev. Nissan engine plant is here too. Buying "American" is now in name only. Many "American" trucks are built outside the borders with foreign labor and parts. If you buy a Frontier it's guaranteed to be built with US labor. Plus, Japanese quality has been legendary since the 1960s Datsuns and Toyotas brought great shame to the Pinto and Vega, etc. Chinese simply cannot be placed in the same category as Japanese. American companies have sold out to foreign interests, so "buying American" is now simply a feel-good mantra and a label.
