Many of Ar Rahman's songs have such similarities to many western songs..But people just ignored it as he recreated it in his own ways beautifully.......All of the music directors that you have shown here have either recreated or got inspired and have added their own talent too,to make it beautiful ....In a way , current Malayalam films,most of them ,are such recreations or copying western films,including background score from West or foreign films and i must say current generation is horrible at it.. Atleast the old generation had put in some effort to make it beautiful or rather indianize or localize it in indian ways ,even if a copy of other film's or songs...

@@Anaka590 AR rahman is a good musician but i was just telling that he too had done what these guys say as 'copy'.. ...It is not exactly copying ,but they get inspired by other great musicians work, such that in some cases they end up making songs exactly similar to their role models...For example,many of AR Rahman's songs in '90s were inspired by Greek musician 'Vangelis's music .....Roja, theme song of the movie 'Jeans' etc have great similarity to Vangelis's songs like 'Chariots of fire'...Since i was a great fan of Vangelis even before AR rahman started composing,i could easily see that ARahman composed Roja song getting inspired by Vangelis songs,so i was not surprised at all by his debut songs.. ..Songs from the movie Indian , 'telephone maniphone' is also similar to another western song .. Ar Rahman had given music to our national anthem 'Jana gana Mana' which is similar to the song 'Conquest of Paradise'.. Similarly there are few other songs of AR Rahman ,which were quite similar to many other old western songs....Since indian audience generally were not familiar with many western musicians especially old musicians ,it is difficult to pick these similarities
