I dunno. For a couple of hundred bucks more you get a taco, centre stand, rear rack, windscreen, compass, switchable ABS on the rear. I kinda like the look of the Himi. I might have to ride both and see the difference.

I think these bikes are more designed for the Asian market than the Western and having bought the Scram, I feel 411CC is enough in a country that has bumper to bumper traffic most days. Tried the interceptor 650 too and that bike literally burnt my legs off due to the heat while riding in the city. The scram also heats up but is not that uncomfortable. Also TBH both scram and Himalayan feel very different when you ride them back to back. I was planning to get the Himalayan but Scram felt so good. Very fun motorcycle. Breaks could have been much better though. What surprised me was the engine refinement. From 70-90kmph on 5th gear it feels like you’re riding an electric bike.

I like this bike, but I've got a 390 Duke. If I sold it to buy a 411, I'd probably regret it. Those are wet weights, aren't they? I like the blue. I wish it had a rev counter instead of that nav thing. I thought the headlight shroud was metal. 6:53 Great shot. 8:16 And another! 9:10 What a handsome bike.

I’ve got a mate who had a Duke 390, great bike also, certainly a bit more power, but to me it didn’t feel as solid as the Scram and servicing and serving costs as a bit of an issue here in Australia, not to many KTM dealers around, certainly not too many I’d trust. Read into that what you will,

Great video as always Ross! The smaller front rim is what makes this a far more accessible street bike where you really can throw it into corners and feel in control. yes like the look when I see the himmie I always wonder if it is descended from an industrial shelving system. this looks good and pleasantly slightly retro650 no thanks too heavy cooling problem between the tw cylinders. a 450 version sounds ideal as long as its not all bore size. the long stroke gives it the decent torque at lower revs. the ability to tractor along at low revs is great off road good point about the seat, thanks will keep that in mind when I go look at one, well done roy

Hi mate great review! I'm in my late 40's, new to riding and looking at my Lams approved next bike. I'm torn between the Classic 350 (love the look!) and the Scram 411 (so practical!). Although I haven't yet tested these 2 bikes, they both feel very comfortable when sitting. I live in Melbourne so I will be riding mainly on weekends, day trips here and there. Which bike is better for our 80-100km/h speed limit roads and overall more comfortable to ride all day long in your opinion?
@BikerTorque
@BikerTorque 2 жыл бұрын
Both bikes will do 100kms per hour no problem. If it were me ( like you late 40s) I’d go the Classic just because it is so dam stylish. I’d suggest test ride them both, and maybe also consider the Interceptor, there’s a reason that bike is one of the best selling learner legal bikes around. I’ve reviewed all three, so if your interested, check out the other reviews. Thanks for watching, hope you found the review useful.

I love the Scram and agree that a 650 version would take away some of it's charm and increase the price. I am interested to see the 450 and I might be tempted to trade in my 411? Just for context I have been riding for 30+ years and most of the last 20 has been on cruisers. The Scram was something completely different for me and I have no regrets.

I think you'll find the headlamp cowl is aluminium, not plastic! I have no problem with the seat and although the Himi is initially plush, I find that starts to go off after 30 miles and the sides push into the inner thighs. The Scram is good and remains good for me. After a lifetime of all sorts of bikes, I love my Scram. Helluva bike. I also have an Interceptor 650 which I also love, and agree that it would spoil the Scram to use the twin. With a few more ccs and ponies, yes, it would be improved - maybe a 500-550. But I think it might also lose some of the charm it has.

Im still riding a Honda XL with a 23in front wheel, so i laugh at people who critique the difference in steering between a 19 and 21 in wheel. You can chuck anything around once you get used to it. Not a Himmy killer. Good compromise and the weight saving is good, but needs a centre stand i reckon.
