I'm in NZ experiencing the same eye issue and also thinking about life without vision. The haematologists I tell never respond, now I've taken the issue into my own hands. The neurologist was impressed when I told him about the cold showers, which have helped me cope with severe full body pain. Thank you for your story.
@Brian-rs4ug Жыл бұрын
It took me four months of taking cold showers everyday before it became the “new normal” for me. In time you will adjust to the point you don’t even think about taking a cold shower everyday. I have been at it for seven years, with no plans to go back to the old way of doing things. A general rule I have learned in life, watch what everyone else is doing. Do the opposite and you are usually heading in the right direction. I have found there are few exceptions to this rule.

love these stories!! everytime again!! 2 weeks ago did my first ever ice bath, took me 3 tries to make the full 2 minutes. I wondered why, others made it in 1 go..! Watching this it hit me: I went in alone Which is a big thing for me. I engage with a lot of things much more much better when doing it with others. Group sports > going to the gym. Listening to someone or a Q&A > reading a book. Sharing dreams and thoughts with like minded people > meditating. Don't yet know what exactly I want to do with this. But thanks for now :) And thanks Prateek :) For sharing your story. Undoubtly inspires many.

Hi dearest Wim Hof We are a family of Singaporean Chinese and we totally experience for ourselves being immune to cold really improve our immunity. That is why we as a family, do not even have one vaccination, including my 86 Years old mother who is so healthy , recover after only three four days from covid. I was also a pneumonia patient in 1991, when I was 12 years old, because of Singapore monsoon rain daily and only once I did not bring my umbrella and I was drenched to the skin. I developed pneumonia because my traditional Chinese mother always sheltered me , closing the windows at home , asking me to bring an extra shirt when I go out, always ask me to open umbrella , wear raincoats, etc. Then slowly I start to open up to love cold because singapore buses and all indoors ,library, NUS lecture halls, busses, shopping malls, offices are all below 20 Celsius. Traditional Chinese from PRC china and ROC taiwan wrote in internet about singapore indoors being described as morgue. It is so ridiculous that people from cold countries are not used to cold than Singaporeans in tropical everyday 30+ Celsius . What I am going to expose is please do not think Taiwanese are friendly people. They are slow to make friends, never mind about that, they are the first to complain or report to police about anything in Taiwan. We ,husband and wife , were being reported to police in Taiwan for just exposing my baby few months old to cool weather of only 20 Celsius, yes only 20 Celsius, they say it is kid abuse. When our baby is sleeping so soundly in the cool weather outside,where is the kid abuse ?? Taiwan parents are the ones who kid abuse because they will scold or beat their kids when their kids even ask the parents can they take off their jackets at even 25 Celsius and masks. We respect their values and lifestyles by not reporting them to police because it is their own Taiwan values. But they clearly do not respect our way, Baltic Countries way of exposing kids to cold, what I say cold is not 20 Celsius !! Babies are left in the cold in minus 10 when the parents are in the coffee houses drinking coffee. It is true Babies are warm in the prams but no Asian will ever do that because the outside is still minus 10,20 Celsius. We as a couple shouted at the Taiwan police , we respect your living styles BUT you have no right to control our way of building immunity for our baby. We don't even act so extreme as Baltic parents but 20 Celsius is so ridiculously cool that we see no issues with our baby being topless. Singaporeans and Malaysians are all wearing just a light t shirt and shorts at all indoor shopping malls when the traditional Chinese continue wearing fur coats, down jackets and scarves and caps even when they go into their 25 Celsius indoors. Even hongkongers find shenzhen shopping malls to be super hot !! We as a family have benefited from exposure to cold, we have overcome traditional Chinese over fear to cold, No matter as a family or as a country, singapore. We are full Chinese yet we firmly believe in Western way of life ( although not all western countries believe in cold expousre) which is get used to things in life and not ultra avoidance from birth to death. Don't get me wrong, every culture has its avoidance things, but not even one culture has so many things to ultra avoid like the Taiwanese 1) cold, definition of cold is 23,24 , my French friend was so annoyed his kindergarten teacher told him to wear jacket for his son at 27 Celsius in taipei. I have photo proof 2) Grey skies uv rays strongest, sunny skies, strongest feat of tanned skin 3) drizzle and rain 4) carbs,sugar 5) butter and cream 6)spicy food and spices 7) raw food , the old Taiwanese don't eat raw food 8) Sour food, thai Tom yum in Taiwan is atrociously bland 9) air pollution and even toasted bread smell. A bakery in Taiwan was fined 100,000 ntd for toasting the bread too fragrant 10) wind. Chinese concept. My Chinese educated mother finally knows how irritating she is when she is lectured by Taiwanese that she should not blow wind . She rebutt back she comes out is to blow wind.

My journey is very similar. However the Wim Hof method only goes so far. I have an autoimmune disease called Crohn's disease I also struggle with drug addiction I was able to almost heal myself with just the method. However, I was eating alot of sugar and doing the method a year ago. That prolonged the inevitable I relapsed and now I'm starting the journey all over again. I'm not giving up,I know the method will heal me completely if I do my part with the right diet!!! Too!!!

I have practised the WHM about a year ago and stopped after 5 weeks because I felt so sick and dizzy/light headed at that time. After stopping (now almost a year later) I have gotten sick alot, encountered problems with my digestive system and many more. I feel like I get sick 5x more easy then anybody in my circle. Has anybody similar experiences? And is there a possible link to the WHM and my problems. I feel like my chemistry in the body changed but not in the right direction.

Hi there, I've bieen practicing the method for a few months now, trying to work on trauma and anxiety. Any thoughts on this?

Hello everyone! I have a question for long - time Wim Hof method practicioners - does it also help with allergies? I've been getting sick a lot since last winter and i'm thinking about the Wim Hof method. I'm not sure what is the root of my problem, but i've been getting a cold symptoms a lot recently (like fever, coughing a lot, sore throat, although i shouldn't get a cold). The issue is that the problems reappears like every 2 months and it is hard to do the cold showers everyday. Should i do the breathing and cold showers when i've got the symptoms (like fever for example) or should i stop when i feel sick?

Is there anyone in here who also suffers from chronic depression? Can you get cured of it or not? Does the Wim Hof method help? Problem with me is, I think I can handle more warm than most people, but then the opposite, that more people can handle cold water, than I can. Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪
@KhanCarnivore Жыл бұрын
It definitely helps! It takes me from a 3/10, for example, to a 6/10. I'm my opinion, depression is your body and mind telling you things need to change. It will take time. But I, for example, have changed my diet and am following keto/carnivore. This is helping me shed weight and feel more energised physically. I've dropped 10kg already in 3 months. Exercise, also, of course. Furthermore, you need to have a purpose at any given time. This could be as mentioned above, losing weight, but having a long term purpose is fantastic also. Mine is to help people. That is what I most enjoy, so I am orientating myself in the direction of doing so. Finally, alongside these things, is changing the way you think. There is an INCREDIBLE channel called DARE on KZbin, absolutely brilliant stuff on there. Whenever I lose sight, or drop into a hole, those types of videos provide the rope for me to get out. I hope this helps, I'm not religious but prayers to you. And if you want to follow my journey and stay in touch, I'm uploading videos of my carnivore journey, but will definitely be talking about mental health on there also!
@KhanCarnivore Жыл бұрын
