If you're looking to please a single viewer...as in just me 😅 and maybe someone else, I'd love to see you compare the A7 IV's astrophotography performance vs something like the Canon 6D. Shoot me a message if you want a general idea of what to test and the methodology let me know. Basically Sony tends to pre-process RAW files in long exposures, beyond just the star eater issue a while back. So much so that I am using a 6D 1st gen now vs my A7S and a6300 for astro. but I know lots of people are curious about this camera over the A7 III. Glad to see you found some time to upload to the channel and that you're doing well!

I am used to the smaller 2.3 mp EVF on APS-C, so I will not be disappointed when I recieve my a7iv. 10 fps is OK for me, still a heared that in uncompressed or lossless raw you don't get 10.

Merry Xmas!!!Nice to see you back and nice video too.I got my A7IV few weeks back and so far so good.You will totally enjoy it. I agree Sony could have throw the latest updates aka fps 4K60 so on so forth but they didn't. Even though is a great camera that tick many boxes for many creators like me coming from the A6300 moving into full frame or coming from the A7III.We gotta have to make this amazing camera work to suit our needs basically!!!At the end of the day there is not a perfect camera. Although, there some that get closer but there are for other niches.!!!Salutes from London!!

Hi Danny, My a7IV should be here by Wednesday/Thursday. I bought it for specific reasons. As you, I have the a7SIII and I need a back-up camera should something go wrong. (I learned the importance of this the hard way, and I have had the a7III as a back-up, but it’s not the same video quality). The IV can shoot great 4.2.2 10 bit footage and is perfect as a B-cam along side the SIII. If something happened to the SIII (which has happened already and it was in repair for 3 weeks), I can still get the job done with the IV. Reason 2 is Photography. The SIII at 12mp is actually remarkably good and it can do a great job, but the 33mp on the IV is a bonus. I have the 200-600mm and getting out into nature for photos is therapy for me, and the 33mp is better than a 1.4x teleconverter. And the 60p as a crop is fine by me. I get more reach and I have APS-c lenses from my a6600 that I use on a gimbal. So, it’s a win as far as I’m concerned. I’ll end up with video redundancy which pays the bills, and a video and photo specific cameras as a pair of workhorses. And the a6600 and the a7III are now bonus cameras for multi cam shoots and an extra back up that can also get the job done. But this is enough for me! These cameras will last for years (i say this every time! Lol 😂). I’ve also added the new 70-200 vII so I need to stop! Hahaha 🤣. Hey, these are tools not toys! I have work and more meetings requested for the new year. This gear pays for itself very quickly! Looking forward to your camera review! Stay safe!

Yeah, I have found the a7siii images to be really good. I’ve even just considered using the upscale in Lightroom/photoshop and it does a good job for my type of images.

The newer processor could have easily allowed A7S3 to shoot 20fps or even 30fps, even though it is a video centric camera in a mirrorless body nonetheless.

What really frustrates me about A7IV, other than the inevitable business decision, is they decide to increase the megapixel at the expense of lower fps, cropped 4k60p, poor rolling shutter, in a body that is marketed/positioned to be an entry-level all-rounder.

No camera is perfect. There are now some great alternatives but all have their limitations for the price point. Buy the camera that works for you. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy this or any other camera.

The most honest words on this camera I've heard sofar! 10fps in late 2021 specially over one year after appearance of competitors like R6 with 20fps is really a BS move by Sony. Makes absolutely no sense they just been thinking about the damn vlogging thing in 2020-21 and that really hurts! A7siii, A7c, ZV-e10 all suited vloggers need already with every budget in addition to the mighty zv-1. what was the hell need for another one with that crappy flippy screen? I would have exchanged 33mp with the older 24mp if it could give 20fps. Other than 9 more megapixels this camera has nothing to offer over a7iii for many photographers. Which only makes sense in landscape and they already have the A7R line for that! It was a bad move sony really a bad one. You hear too much applaud here on KZbin, but that's only cause you just had them in mind, the youtubers! Many photographers been disappointed in the real world! 500$ price bump just makes the situation much worse! This camera would be a good buy in 2023, when it's already old specs will cause it's price to drop about 1k$!

It is a big deal to me the crop factor in the 4k60, other camera companies offer it, and they did it so they keep the customers for the a7s3 etc happy. I feel it was a business decision because if the offer that, 4k60 full frame that is the camera that was only gonna sell if you know what I mean....
