@@jordanpalmer7975Here’s a timeline focusing solely on Jon Jones’ PED-related test failures: --- 1. 2016 - Failed Drug Test for Anti-Estrogen Agents Date: June 16, 2016, before his scheduled fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 200. Substances: Clomiphene and Letrozole. Details: Clomiphene: Often used as a post-cycle therapy to counteract the effects of anabolic steroids by boosting natural testosterone production. Letrozole: An aromatase inhibitor used to decrease estrogen, which can spike due to steroid use. Outcome: Suspended for one year by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), missing his highly anticipated rematch with Cormier at UFC 200. --- 2. 2017 - Failed Drug Test for Anabolic Steroid (Turinabol) Date: July 28, 2017, following his fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. Substance: Oral Turinabol (anabolic steroid). Details: Turinabol enhances muscle growth, strength, and recovery, making it a common anabolic steroid in PED cycles. It can improve power and endurance in athletes. Outcome: His win over Cormier was overturned to a no-contest, and Jones was stripped of the light heavyweight title. He received a 15-month suspension, which was later reduced after he cooperated with USADA. --- 3. 2018 - Positive Test for Turinabol Metabolite “Pulsing” Date: December 2018, during testing leading up to UFC 232. Substance: Trace amounts of Turinabol metabolites. Details: The test showed small amounts of Turinabol metabolites, which USADA claimed were residual “pulsing” from his 2017 failure. This phenomenon was cited as a possible reappearance of previously ingested Turinabol rather than new use. Outcome: No additional suspension was issued, but UFC 232 was controversially moved from Nevada to California after Nevada's athletic commission refused to license him due to the positive test. He was allowed to compete, defeating Alexander Gustafsson. --- 4. 2023 - Trace Amounts of Turinabol Metabolites in Further Tests Details: Even in later tests, trace amounts of Turinabol continued to appear. These were also attributed to “pulsing” by USADA, with Jones not receiving further penalties.
