These are the people who have no history about the brand. R6 is ofc legendary bike but Ducati is currently dominating supersport and superbike segment so it is sensible that yamaha would get a better bike which is competitive. Its almost the same hp as R6 with loads of Torque. Its sad to see R6 go but we gotta respect manufacturers putting out new bikes with these heavy restrictions.

All the people that complain never got enough motorcycles to justify yamaha replacing the R6. As for R1, yamaha already said a new model is already in development. Yamaha is going through a transition in motogp and it will be 2026 or 2027, we will see the new R1. What's the point in yamaha just improving emissions on the current model without any sales. Insurances and road safety have hampered the sales of supersport bikes.

Base on the design of the MT09, airbox is located at the top-front of the gas tank. The R9 it has a new frame, and not the frame of the MT09, f u noticed the collar of the frame there are new very huge holes, i think these holes serves as Ram Air Port. Ussualy ram air port are in front and connected to a hole at the center of the frame collar but i think this r9 is not using that design principle. As per tachnical features the CP3 dont need much RAM air, obvoiusly seen in the MT09 which have only 2 small holes in its tank as Ram Air Port.

@@Auji_CG I watched a video series on *FAST BIKES* where they built an R7 for TT Race, in it's 3rd Episode at 2:10 they showed how they got a RAM Air System built for it and it produced massive improvements in horsepower. According to them, R7 made close to 100hp. So, for that purpose the R9 must have a RAM Air System inbuilt, because, at least it has its Airbox at the right place, in the front section.

@@AST4EVER Yamaha can do that, but emissions regulations will make the car unlicensed, it's not like they suddenly decided that, everything has a reason, Yamaha's engineering team designed the R9 and not How do they not know how much power a good air ram will provide, but the problem of higher performance means problems with emissions

It's a bullshit bike, a stop gap measure to give Yamaha revenue and time to introduce their new V4 which is currently under development for Moto G.P. Until then I will enjoy my new R1. @christian4608 Its a Supersport according to marketing b.s. from Yamaha and internet hype. It's a standard bike motor in a race like chasis. It has clip-on bars. It's not a true Supersport. Supersports are race reps for the street. Superbikes are 1000cc race reps for the street. Hyperbikes are the higher displacement motors like the Busa and ZX-14, that you can tour on, hit the track or take to a drag strip comfortably from the factory. I've never in my life seen a standard bike motor thrown into a race chasis and people will worship it because it's easy to ride on the street. Phuk me???

@christian4608 It's not a Supersport bike. They're just marketing it as one. It has a sporty chasis and motor similar to the performanceof a old Supersport. Wtf else are they gonna call it? It's not a Superbike, or sports tourer, naked or hyperbike... Supersports used to be a 600 class race rep. If it was a triple they could up the displacement a bit. Superbikes were 1000cc race reps. They don't even have the same rules and regulations with race class anymore. It's a clusterfuc. To me it's a fully faired all rounder. Jack of all trades, master of none easy to ride compared to a true race rep.

If you want a proper plus size supersport for the track on to convert to a track bike, then the Gixxer is much better. Don't say that the R9 is better for the street, because it is taller and heavier, and if you need a street bike, just get a MT09.

GSX-R 750 has 4.5 more HP(121.5) at a whopping 12,560 rpm and 15.6 less ft lb torque(53) at 10,840 rpm vs R9 that gives its peak HP 2,560 rpm earlier(10,000rpm) and it's peak torque 3,840 rpm earlier(7,000rpm). I don't see how that equates to Suzuki having the better engine. That's over 29% more torque 3,840rpm earlier for only 3.7% less HP even though it reaches peak power 2,560 earlier. I'm sorry bro but I'd be willing to bet the same rider on both bikes would do better on the street OR track with the R9.

They picked this guy... this is why our kids are excided about 💩 performance numbers as long as there plenty of electronics to play with. 20yr old 600cc HP output. Yamaha doesn't even have to re-tune the MT-09 motor to squeeze out as much as possible, they just do a shelf swap. Looks great but lame. Get a 15yr old GSXR750 and save some money.

Nothing to do with power, i’ve seen a guy on an FZ600 (old air cooled one, before FZR600) out race a CBR900RR on the road, thats a 60hp bike in front of a 120hp bike. It’s all down to the rider.

@timhaslum7461 Yea I've took woopins from plenty of SV650's when I used to ride track. The Japanese engineers don't have to go to drawing board to awe us anymore because people will buy it. Since they replaced the R6 and soon the R1 it be nice if they put some work into that motor. Who doesn't want something better. Maybe different cams, higher compression, higher revs and definitely more power if your paying more. Don't you like adrenaline? Don't you like that exhilarating feeling motorcycles give us that nothing else can? It's just a MT09 with fairings and a better electronic package. Let's see something breathtaking again.
