They're actually two different species! The 'big trolls' are Bergens and the little ones are the trolls. Trolls World Tour, they travel the world for the first time to save the music so its literally a world tour. I haven't seen Band Together yet but I'm pretty sure there IS a band in it😂

Yeah Trolls has weird stuff but it's so cute, sweet and fun. If you don't mind looking past the weird stuff and you're interested, I do recommend you watch them!! And for your question about the trippy moment, yes, it happens to them a lot. Branch (grey-blue one) is the only one who hasn't lived it as much as everyone else. Im convinced that the pop trolls were left to the bergens as tribute for the second movie and also that they are almost stone age community wise, they needed basic necessities and had no infrastructure beyond jungle village and in the 3rd film we see that there are mega cities like new york or dubai complete with cars and future tech, but poppy and them live in the bushes with vines for rope 😂

No spoilers since Matt is gonna watch the movies, but i just wanted to say that it's kinda funny how the first movie has dark concepts that are "hidden" along all the crazy shit that's happening. Like the fact that these "big trolls", called bergens, actually EAT THE TROLLS ALIVE cause they thought it was the only way to be actually happy, and also the several almost death scenes that may or may not include the trolls almost getting eaten. The other two movies have the same vibe but you can kinda see the difference there.

He's meant to be a fairly important character in the first movie and I won't specify in what way for spoilers since you're considering watching the movies but he's a characters you are meant to recognize by name and care about. AND THEN THEY DESIGNED HIM TO BE GREEN AND FEET. IN A MOVIE WHERE THE MAJORITY OF HIS SCENES TAKE PLACE IN THE HEAVILY GREEN FOREST SURROUNDED BY OTHER TROLLS WHOSE HEADS LOOK THE SAME AS HIS ENTIRE BODY, HE IS PERFECTLY CAMOFLAGUED. The Blonde troll is Poppy’s sister Viva and the other four trolls are Branch’s older brothers. 15:25 Trolls World Tour is the second movie and Trolls Band Together is the third. World Tour is about them traveling to different Troll Tribes for different music. Poppy is the ruler of the Pop Trolls, there are Trolls for Country music, Classical, Hard rock, Techno music, Funk, Jazz, even Reggaton and K-pop. Band together is about Branch, the blue male Troll always with Poppy , was in a boy band with his brothers as a child and reunited with them so save one of their brothers Floyd(the pink haired troll in the Family song) from essentially getting the life sucked out of him.
