Here we have a delivery at a job site with a pretty narrow driveway kind of has been carved out of a hillside and there is tall brush trees and the hill itself that poses some challenges to the delivery. so stay tuned as we navigate and climb over rocks and other obstacles and shimmy our way up the gentleman's driveway to get the delivery as closest to where he wants it as possible. stay tuned for part two here: • "It's not about the mo...

I.appreciate the delivery men sticking to the rules. I had delivery fools cause over $2,000 in damage moving a sofa up a stair case into my new apartment. The young men were not strong enough for the job and dragged it on freshly painted walls making huge gouges because they could no coordinate lifting a piece of furniture. I ended up spending over $3,000 and did not get a couch until I went to a company with better workers. That company moved the same size sofa into my new place with 2 men. (Yes--with that evidence I got full reimbursement in Small Claims.)

@@bingalz1 I doubt he’s afraid of exercise. He just doesn’t wanna have to move it again. Hence why it’s being delivered. If I got this driver and shit was gonna be dropped curbside, I’d reject the load. I ain’t moving it twice. I’ll have it delivered to the store and pick it up there if that’s the case. Not about being lazy. Time is money.

@@michaelbard420 That only works if you have a truck big enough to haul all of the materials home. These people pay for curbside delivery, nothing in there says it has to go anywhere but the curb. Hopefully you'd be smart enough not to order curbside if you didn't want it delivered curbside, no reason to be a jackass to the driver because you can't pay attention to what you're ordering.

"If you can't get it to X location, I don't even want it." Okay, then hire a contractor to deal with all that for you. i like to educate when i can. The natural rate of unemployment is around 4-5%, right now its about 4.7%. The worker shortage isn't a matter of people not wanting to work because they're collecting unemployment, the issue is Covid drove a lot of people out of the labor market, A lot of older people retired due to Covid, which shrunk the worker supply, and because of covid, a lot of younger people opted to go to college instead of joining the workforce, which also leads to a shortage of workers. Truckers who made 80-120k a year arent going to quit their jobs for 400/week and decide not to go back, I don't care how lazy they are, especially now with trucking companies offering tens of thousands in signing bonuses
@SaffordDelivery

my front door is 20 meters from the road and I only buy heavy stuff if I know that the deliverers will enter it into the house. I do my own work and anyhow, you can pay workers a whole day and the truck never comes......

Liability is about his property being damaged, or the customers' property being damaged. I suppose in a way it's about money, but also about practicalities of business. And either way, Biden is handing out free money like candy, man.

@@jasonluger597 If the government is paying me $12 @ hour unemployment, why would I go back to my job that paid me $10 @ hour? Perhaps you don`t mind that Bezoz and his kind pay zero taxes.

@@knightd12 Why are you getting so defensive? lol It was just a statement of fact. If we would just fix our economy instead of handing out free cash grabs, shit would be much better. At least handing out money to big corporations didn't come hand in hand with inflation. I don't like either of the men, nor either of the parties. They stand for two totally different things than how the parties SHOULD be running themselves.

@@jasonluger597 I`m not being defensive my friend, I just see nothing wrong with our government helping out our OWN people when they are in need. And I agree , most politicians are full of it. But we have to choose the lesser of two evils.

@jasonluger597 3 жыл бұрын
@@knightd12 I just saw the reply, however, there is no lesser of the two evils. Either side is just as dumb as the opposing side. You know that Biden handing out money comes out of your, and my paychecks? We pay for people to refuse to learn a trade or something valuable, and raising the minimum wage doesn't fix things either. We need lower costs of living and merchandise.

Realistically, how hard would it be to stack it in 2 stages if the customer asked it? Obviously this is a question for HD not you, but it would seem your issues would be reduced significantly if you could move the smaller parts further and the larger ones left curbside.

I like watching your channel but it made me sad to hear you refer to covid unemployment as a “welfare check”. I’ve been fully self-employed since I was 17 and my field was completely shut down for the duration of covid. As a taxpayer & someone who provides a paycheck for other subcontractors in my field hearing it called welfare is a slap in the face. Those checks kept us alive when there was no possibility of working. Especially as it killed me take assistance, I had to put my pride in check! Other than that I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work 😊

@@SaffordDelivery That's a slippery slope argument. That usually only benefits MUCH richer and more connected companies and wannabe royalty rich assholes. Proper regulations and oversight are the skeleton of civilization. When a literal pandemic is sweeping across the world and idiots act like wearing a mask and NOT projecting their bodily fluids onto others is just too much, things need to be addressed. It's NOT just the morons acting like only THEY matter that suffer. But the people that are just trying to make due. They don't deserve to be made sacrificial lambs bc the owners are taxpayers and private businesses. If a place is shut down bc of sanitation or food contamination issues, no one bats an eye. But covid and improper sanitization can cause vast amounts of spread. It's literally minutes from exposure to start spreading it. With symptoms being a week out to properly express. Just like people try to compare to other near catastrophic outbreaks acting like bc covid is not near instantly lethal to 99% of exposed. That the measures taken are not justified. Heck most places had to keep going back into lockdowns bc morons took loosening of restrictions as if it meant the disease was gone. Thus causing massive upswells in the spread. So many would have been completely ruined as most americans CANT absorbed a month of no work. With all the overpayments of bs over priced crap that gets bribed into being allowed, like medical insurance. Getting a sprained ankle can break a family. Let alone losing a job and having literally near zero prospects. While the wealthy just gorge themselves on their price gouging and profiteering. But they are 'taypayers'(if you pay less than a person working 3-4 jobs and barely technically NOT homeless you are NOT paying your fair share of taxes) and own 'private' businesses so they are allowed apparently whatever they want. Might as well bring back company towns and sweatshops.
